Day 11 of 30: Revlon Colorburst Lipstick in Peach

May 20, 2011 Paris B 25 Comments

Orange or Tangerine lips are in this year. At least that’s what I’m led to believe. Trends aside, orange lips are always an interesting departure from the norm.

revlon colorburst peach lipstick

I wasn’t expecting the Revlon Colorburst lipstick in Peach to turn out orange, but it did.

Not in an unpleasant manner though 🙂

Here’s the swatch on the back of my hand.

Revlon Colorburst Lipstick in Peach swatch

Like all the Revlon Colorburst lipsticks, it swatches pretty much true to colour in the tube. In fact, this one swatches a little more sheer compared to the stronger pigment found in say, True Red. On lips too, it is a little sheerer than I expected. But I was alright with that, because I wasn’t too sure about the colour.

Also featuring Lancome Maqui Miracle Blanc and Nars Orgasm blush

Peach is quite a warm shade, but one that I think will be lovely in the warm Summer months. What am I saying. Its always Summer here so break it out at any time! 😀 (Aside: Lancome Maqui Miracle blanc liquid foundation is one of 2 foundations I’m really liking. It makes my skin look amazing! /end Aside 😛 )

Pros: Light texture, No Scent, Affordable

Cons: Applies a little sheerer than other colours, Can be a bit patchy over lipbalm

If you are looking to get into the orange lip trend or just want to try a new shade, take a look at this one. At least its quite inexpensive when it goes on sale, and its got decent texture.

Orange lips anyone? 😉

Revlon Colorburst Lipsticks retail at RM39 at all Revlon counters. They go on sale often so its a good time to pick it up then

i’m all for peachy lips. Peach seems to be more wearable than say…coral? And as much as i want to try coral, don’t think i can pull it off well. Any corals to recommend?

hmm… I’m not quite one for coral lips (but I dig coral blush 😉 ) Try Dior Addict Tango – my latest Coral discovery. Or Dior Serum de Rouge does one, as well as the Dior Rouge depending on the texture you like. Erm… lots of Dior recs there huh? 😛

Aww have you tried a pink or red gloss over it? It might make the colour more wearable. I was expecting something less orange to be honest

I can’t even put any gloss. The lipstick is too pigmented and too opaque. I prefer sheer ones.

Aww 🙁 The only other thing I can think of is to melt it down and mix it with another lip colour? But that’s a right hassle 😛

This looks great on you! The best orange or tangerine shade I had seen so far! I wonder does it makes the teeth looks yellow like other orange lipstick does? I have a pretty yellow teeth to start with 🙁

I have yellow teeth too but this doesn’t make my teeth look more yellow than normal. Fuchsia does but not this 🙂

Thanks Lavender and it’s just guts and finding your right shade. Most of us can wear different shades o lipstick but we might not all wear the same shade 🙂
