Save and Splurge: Lightweight Non-Sticky Body Lotions

April 15, 2011 Paris B 6 Comments

In hot humid weather like ours, it might surprise you to note that even we should apply body lotion so the skin on our body does not look and feel dry and papery, and so it does not age before its time. All well and good to look after our faces but its easy to forget about the rest of the body eh? 🙂

review compare skinlabs concentrated vitamin e cream kiehl's creme de corp lightweight body lotion

So after trying a couple of brands and products, here are 2 lightweight body lotions that I like that work well both in tropical weather as well as in cold dry weather. And they come in at two ends of the price spectrum! 😀

Splurge: Kiehl’s Creme de Corp Lightweight Body Lotion – RM90/250ml

Coming in at the Splurge end of the price spectrum is the Kiehl’s Creme de Corp Lightweight body lotion. This one’s light on the skin, absorbs quickly and keeps skin feeling soft and moist. Love it! You can read my full review on the Kiehl’s Creme de Corp Lightweight lotion here.

Save: Derma Health’s Skinlabs Concentrated Vitamin E cream – RM39.90/200ml

Want the lightweight, non-sticky feel of the Kiehl’s body lotion but hate the price? Here’s the save option, coming in at nearly half the price! This lotion’s also very light on the skin, absorbs quickly, and leaves skin feeling lovely. You can read the full review and availability on the Derma Health’s Skinlabs Concentrated Vitamin E cream here.

I use both interchangeably depending on which is closer at hand, but once I’m done with the Kiehl’s one, I think I’ll stick to the Skinlabs one – it just makes more economical sense 😉

Save and Splurge is where I show you similar items by different brands that I have tried. They may not work quite the same way, but it’ll offer you options for your wallet for a similar effect/product. Do note however, that it is based on products I have tried, so whilst there are many save and splurge options out there, these are my views and choices. You can find more under the category of Challenges.

I was considering Esmeria lotion since reading about it in your blog.
Between Esmeria and DermaLab which one is less sticky?

    Thanks 🙂

The Esmeria Intensive Cream I’d featured is being discontinued, which is why it did not feature. I’m pretty upset about that, because I prefer the Esmeria one over the Dermalab. That said, I only just started trying an Esmeria Organics body lotion which is quite nice but less moisturizing than the Intensive Cream. It didn’t make the cut this time due to time constraint but I’ll review it soon 🙂 Its not bad too and both Esmeria and Dermalabs are non sticky. No real contest 🙂

I bought the Derma Health one and is happy to report that i like it a lot! Been using the Rosken High Potency Vitamin E Cream but I disliked the stickyness after it’s being applied.

Oh, doesn’t the Derma Health one smell a little bit like a Johnson and Johnson’s lotion? 😛

I used to use Rosken too and its great but yes, its sticky and in our heat and humidity, stickiness is such a downer. And yes, the Derma Health cream smells like baby powder! 😀
