Happy Saturday again Ladies!
How has your week been? Good? Did you notice the airfare sales going on here in Malaysia over the past week and if you did, did you take advantage of the sale? 😉
That’s the view of the snow capped Alps up there from the plane. I can’t remember if they were the Italian Alps or the Swiss Alps. They should put flags on these things eh? 😛
Did you take advantage of the Malaysia Airlines or Airasia ticket sales?
I did… but although I had lofty plans, I only booked for just 1 destination. I couldn’t make my mind up for the rest so I’ll wait for more sales to crop up 😛 Not quite telling yet where I’m headed but its something to look forward to! 😀
Do you have a pampering treat to look forward to?
A reader Milktea reminded me that we have no more major public holidays till May (oh boo hoo!) so its a good time to line up a pampering treat or two in March and April, yes? 😉 I have a much needed haircut lined up next week! So excited because I’d likely go for a new look. I’m getting bored of the current one 😛
Have you bought vouchers/coupons from those group deal sale thingys?
I bought my first recently for a massage. It was a good deal at just RM58 for 2 hours and I’m booked to go in about 2 weeks. I’m keen to see if they’ll short change me knowing I’m on a special deal. So cynical 😛 I also purchased a meal dining voucher and if a bunch of friends hop onto that voucher bandwagon, we could have a very cheap day out! 😀
Do you like the beach?
I’m not much of a beach gal, but I’ve been craving sitting by the beach doing just nothing. Its been a while since I’ve sat around doing nothing.
Airplane food. Yay? Nay?
I confess to a secret fascination for airplane food. I’ve had my share of duds – on my last flight from Hong Kong I was served yellow vegetables and black tasteless soy chicken on white rice. Another time, I was served a cold sandwich with a sliver of cucumber and a whisper thin slice of chicken ham. It was all very unappetizing. But I always live in hope that I will be served something nice (on commercial flights) and on flights back home to Malaysia, I’m always hoping for a good hot nasi lemak 😛

Did you take advantage of the Malaysia Airlines or Airasia ticket sales?
Nope. 🙁
Do you have a pampering treat to look forward to?
Sigh. No, not yet.
Have you bought vouchers/coupons from those group deal sale thingys?
Yes. But forget to use. Waste money.
Do you like the beach?
Naw. Increase my pigmentation. 🙁
Airplane food. Yay? Nay?
Yay! But only if it’s SQ. Feels like home already when I board the flight. 😉
I just bought 2 vouchers recently and I’m paranoid now about using them up else it’d just be a waste of money right? I think this is what these deals do to us. Make us think its cheap enough so if we miss it its “ok” sigh… I feel right at home when I step into MAS or SQ flights too! 😀 And usually the food is better 😛
Yes! The food is nicer by far compared to other airlines.
Amen to that! 😀
no to questions 1-3… huge huge yes to the last two!!!! I flew thai, china southern, tiger, n airasia last year. among the non budget airlines, Thai had the BEST FOOD!!! everything was yummy:) my fave is the vegetaeian ravioli n tiramisu 🙂 for budget airlines, AA is still the best… tiger’s cabin had this musty smell… I always liked airplane food.
oh, dont ever ever fly with china southern… food was bland but edible… cabib doesnt smell but the toilet is like OMG!!!!!!!! SO Freaking dirty!!! it makes AA look like a non budget airline!!! it’s so disgusting… pee all over the floor, on the lavatory cover… uggghhhh… the smell is just out of this world in a bad way… i flew 3 times with them n all were just s bad… i’d suggest not to put anything on the floor in the cabin…
had to share my experience here…
happy hols , paris:)
Is China Southern a commercial or budget airline? I flew China Eastern Airlines once (commercial) and OMG! The stewardess shouted at my sis and I when we asked for water! How rude! The plane wasn’t comfortable too. I’ve taken Jetstar down to Singapore – my first time, it was delayed by over an hour taking off >.< Let's hope the second time coming up soon will fare better sigh…
Commercial… yes, let’s hope so too~~
Did you take advantage of the Malaysia Airlines or Airasia ticket sales?
NO! ><"
Do you have a pampering treat to look forward to?
Yeap.
Have you bought vouchers/coupons from those group deal sale thingys?
Yes, for massages, manicures and food. Wasted the food voucher though.
Do you like the beach?
Yep, especially with a good book and of course, sun block, sunglasses and shades
Airplane food. Yay? Nay?
Yay, especially when I am a vegetarian and I can choose between oriental/western
dishes :), oh and usually I am one of the first to get my food 😛
Ahh… I used to want to order a special meal on the plane just so I”d get served first! Haha… But I never did because I was never quite sure how it’d turn out 😛
1. Did you take advantage of the Malaysia Airlines or Airasia ticket sales?
Nope… Uni just started so… yeah.
2. Do you have a pampering treat to look forward to?
Tomorrow’s skin-care day!!! For me anyways.
3. Have you bought vouchers/coupons from those group deal sale thingys?
Eh… no… Not really
4. Do you like the beach?
I love the beach! It’s so calming and beautiful (only on the east coast of the Peninsula). But I went to the beach at Port Dickson once, my skin broke out in a terrible rash and I had to get a shot to treat it… YIKES
5. Airplane food. Yay? Nay?
My experience with airplane food thus far as been alright I guess. So yay?
Ah Port Dickson isn’t exactly the cleanest place to be in unfortunately 😛 I’d never step into the waters there. But islands like Pangkor and Langkawi aren’t bad either and they’re on the west coast! I love the white sand on the east coast though. Beautiful!
1. Did you take advantage of the Malaysia Airlines or Airasia ticket sales?
Nope. Its a busy year for me at both work and studies, so its hard for me to plan so far ahead! 🙁
2. Do you have a pampering treat to look forward to?
I just had a DIY spa session yesterday! I took a loooong shower, then lie in bed with a good book and my dog with a facial mask stuck to my face while enjoying Bublé and some aromatherapy! Not quite as pampering as a real SPA session but it does wonders to destress and unwind after a hectic 2 weeks at work! >.<
3. Have you bought vouchers/coupons from those group deal sale thingys?
Nope! I've yet to find a really good spa in penang though. If i do i totally might! 😀
4. Do you like the beach?
I LOVE beaches (just not the ones in Penang! :P). Sooo looking forward to my island getaway at the end of this month! 😀
5. Airplane food. Yay? Nay?
Nay. Havent had anything good so far, but i do prefer MAS to SQ though (on their Indian bound flights anyway) 😛 But then again i havent really travelled alot on full fledged airlines la. Most of the time i take Air Asia only! 😛
Have a good weekend too girl! 😀
I have a limit when it comes to flying budget and that’s about 3 hours LOL! But of course it depends on how much I can save 😉 Are there not many good spas in Penang? I’m quite intrigued because I sometimes go up there for work and I’d love to try a spa there some day! If I come across one, I’ll be sure to share it 😉
1. Did you take advantage of the Malaysia Airlines or Airasia ticket sales?
Oh definitely, but only for trips back to Malaysia. Sigh.
2. Do you have a pampering treat to look forward to?
I do, for body massages, but haven’t booked a date for them yet 😛
3. Have you bought vouchers/coupons from those group deal sale thingys?
Oh yeah, especially for pampering packages. Spa treatments are ridiculously expensive here, and the only way I could enjoy these on a regular basis would be to jump on these group deals. I’m not worried about missing a deal, because there would be other websites offering the same thing the next day 😛
4. Do you like the beach?
Like looking at them, don’t like going to one.
5. Airplane food. Yay? Nay?
Used to be yay, before budget cuts reduced the food to the usual congealed mess. But I do like Air Asia’s nasi lemak 😛
Oho! Are you coming back here again then? 🙂 I’ve heard about the prices of massages and spas down there and its crazy compared to what we pay here! So I guess it makes absolute sense to take advantage of a group deal 🙂 I’ll be trying one out soon. I hope they don’t disappoint 😛
Did you take advantage of the Malaysia Airlines or Airasia ticket sales?
Alas, I did not.
Do you have a pampering treat to look forward to?
Yep! One of those group-deal things – no date set yet though.
Have you bought vouchers/coupons from those group deal sale thingys?
Haha, yeah. Though I have yet to try using them.
Do you like the beach?
It’s so-so to me – last time I was at the beach, I got stung by an octopus when I was only shin-deep!
Airplane food. Yay? Nay?
Need more exposure to it to be able to make a conclusion! 😀
Did you mean jellyfish? 😉 I hope you did not react too badly! But it must have been an awful experience either way!
1. Did you take advantage of the Malaysia Airlines or Airasia ticket sales?
Ahem, since I’m not in the area, I’ll say no. But I never take advantage of plane ticket sales since I’m much of a planner and I end up buying tickets 3 months ahead – and the sales here are usually good for just one month. I’ve already booked for May!
2. Do you have a pampering treat to look forward to?
No, I’m not familiar with beauty saloons. I have a facial once every two months and that’s it. But I think I wouldn’t mind a bit of laser on my body to kill hair in unwanted places. 😉
3. Have you bought vouchers/coupons from those group deal sale thingys?
Yes! For food! I’m no foodie, but I like eating different stuff at fancy restaurants. Well, also because I run a food blog. Actually, it’s not that much of a food blog and I don’t update it very often.^^UU
4. Do you like the beach?
I hate the beach. Unless we’re talking about international waters. Beaches here are anything but clean. Well, people seem to like it. But I’d rather go to the mountains, I mean, to the shopping mall. 😀
5. Airplane food. Yay? Nay?
If it’s food and it’s edible, than I’ll gladly eat it. The food isn’t all that great, but I like struggling through the plastic to get to the food. It reminds me I’m on a plane and going somewhere new. I think the excitement of the trip makes the food better.^^
You have a food blog?! Awesome! I hardly update my own food blog too. Its the whole resizing and editing of pictures that takes up so much time 😛
Did you take advantage of the Malaysia Airlines or Airasia ticket sales?
No, too poor to travel at the moment.
Do you have a pampering treat to look forward to?
Nope.
Have you bought vouchers/coupons from those group deal sale thingys?
Yes – no bad experiences using them at the outlets so far.
Do you like the beach?
Since getting weird insect bites as a kid, not really.
Airplane food. Yay? Nay?
Meh.
Good to know about the vouchers. There are so many companies offering these deal thingys lately. Its like mushrooms after a rain and I don’t even know how legit some of them are 😛
Tell me about it – I lost track of the companies already. A couple of them even emailed me to check their sites out beforehand, so that’s how I know of some of them 😛
I like to give them the benefit of the doubt; if they’re not legit, what’s the point of being bloggers if you can’t spread the word about it? I wouldn’t worry too much about it.
The ones I’ve not had problems with so far are Groupon MY and MyDeal.com.my; I bought a MilkADeal thing the other day but I’ve not used the voucher I bought yet.
I got a voucher off Dealmates and I’ve made my booking so I know for sure its legit 🙂 Haven’t tried the others. That said, I’d probably only get in on the deal if its already on just so, y’know, I don’t get burnt LOL! Still, its a good thing that we get to dine and pamper ourselves for less 😉
