I said I would not but I guess I was wrong…

March 18, 2011 Paris B 28 Comments

I said quite often I was not going to get the Chanel Ombres Perlees de Chanel Eyeshadow palette. In fact, I went to the local counter multiple times to swatch it, and decided everytime that yep! I wasn’t about to get it. I had my eye on the Rose Tourbillon blush instead (which I found remarkably similar to Pink Explosion so really, I couldn’t justify getting that either!) But yet…

Erm… let’s just call it a moment of weakness 😉

Gotta admit its pretty no? Just a couple more pictures below.

From my recollection, the Ombres Perlees de Chanel palette is sold out at many local Chanel counters. It retailed here for RM190 if memory serves me right.

I picked this up at Changi airport in a moment of weakness, as I have said but the price escapes me for now. There were lots left in Changi Terminal 2 duty free if you’re interested.

I can tell you from previous swatchings that the texture is very interesting. It feels creamy but applies like a powder and it contains silicones, hence the texture. The colour is sheer so those who like pigmented colours can just close your window now 🙂 But the texture is quite pretty and shimmery.

I’m actually wearing it today experimentally and yep, as I expected, application is going to take a while to get used to and the colour is on the sheer side but I adore how it looks! So I guess I did something right 🙂

So there. Something I said I would not get. But I guess I was very wrong but I’m glad its working out anyway 😛 Ever been in a similar situation? 😛

Chanel Ombres Perlees de Chanel eyeshadow palette is limited edition for Spring 2011 and retailed in Malaysia at RM190 (mostly sold out at counters). Purchased from Changi Airport, Singapore (price forgotten).

I’m really loving it actually. I thought I might not 🙂 I’m wearing the green, light pink and cream today. Will try the purple another time. Enjoy the weekend too Ksuan!

well, the swatches are really nice and pigmented, like how the pink turns out. I have been playing with it for a few times, so far, yet to succumb to it :),

Eh… Am more interested in the Rouge Cocos. ^.^ I first saw this in Taiwan 101 and Tao Yuan airport, but passed it for my beautiful NARS blush. Bwahahaha. But do show us your eye-looks with this baby! (Psst, they’re still available in Jusco MidValley!)

Much as I like the Rouge Coco lippies, they are so drying compared to all the other lipsticks I own. Real pity. Not sure about the Rouge Coco Shine though. Haven’t gone to look at those yet.

The Rouge Coco Shine is gorgeous! Much more moisturizing that the normal Rouge Coco but they are sheer (like the new Dior Addict lipsticks) so maybe not for you?

I really like this eye palette, regretting not getting it when I was in KL 🙁

Ah but Gio, you do such good work with strong pigmented shadows! 😉 I prefer sheerer colours so mistakes don’t show up so much hehe…

Oh, Chanel is always wonderful! Classy and hip at the same time. And purple goes really well with greens and blues! At first I thought it was a very difficult colour to deal with, but it proved to be an invaluable wildcard. And this palette surely makes the most of it!

Purples, greens and blues are such peacocky colours aren’t they? Bright and pretty! Thankfully the colours are a little sheer so mistakes are lessened and one can even wear this to work without raising eyebrows 😉

I wanted this palette before but I ended up not getting it. I just thought it was funny how you said “I said I would not but I guess I was wrong…” title. I recently bought the Urban Decay Naked palette. I said I wouldn’t, but I was wondering what’s all the fuss. So, I ordered it. Have fun with your new palette 😀

The pup & I celebrating birthdays within weeks of The pup & I celebrating birthdays within weeks of each other 😁 Kiddo turns 4 and celebrated with specially made doggy burgers & fries.

I got him in early Jan 2020 so he’s only been with me less than 4 years but it’s been incredible to see how he’s grown (or not), and how he’s slowly mellowed with age (or not!). He’s still that crazy rambunctious puppy who terrorises other dogs, begging them to play and barking at them when they don’t. He’s a greedy fella who makes me think I’m the greatest chef in the world (in the dog world maybe!) and he still gets crazy eyes when excited.

But I’ve also found more white hair around his eyes and he sleeps in more and later now. He doesn’t even get up early enough to jump onto the bed as he used to 😔

4 years is practically adulthood in doggy years and I’m thankful that we have the opportunity to spend lots of time together even if I bemoan having to bring him everywhere I go.

Happy 4 years boy ❤️
