I said quite often I was not going to get the Chanel Ombres Perlees de Chanel Eyeshadow palette. In fact, I went to the local counter multiple times to swatch it, and decided everytime that yep! I wasn’t about to get it. I had my eye on the Rose Tourbillon blush instead (which I found remarkably similar to Pink Explosion so really, I couldn’t justify getting that either!) But yet…
Erm… let’s just call it a moment of weakness 😉
Gotta admit its pretty no? Just a couple more pictures below.
From my recollection, the Ombres Perlees de Chanel palette is sold out at many local Chanel counters. It retailed here for RM190 if memory serves me right.
I picked this up at Changi airport in a moment of weakness, as I have said but the price escapes me for now. There were lots left in Changi Terminal 2 duty free if you’re interested.
I can tell you from previous swatchings that the texture is very interesting. It feels creamy but applies like a powder and it contains silicones, hence the texture. The colour is sheer so those who like pigmented colours can just close your window now 🙂 But the texture is quite pretty and shimmery.
I’m actually wearing it today experimentally and yep, as I expected, application is going to take a while to get used to and the colour is on the sheer side but I adore how it looks! So I guess I did something right 🙂
So there. Something I said I would not get. But I guess I was very wrong but I’m glad its working out anyway 😛 Ever been in a similar situation? 😛
Paris B
Chanel Ombres Perlees de Chanel eyeshadow palette is limited edition for Spring 2011 and retailed in Malaysia at RM190 (mostly sold out at counters). Purchased from Changi Airport, Singapore (price forgotten).
The purple shade is beautiful! 🙂 Can’t wait to see the looks you create with this palette, Paris. Have a great weekend!
I’m really loving it actually. I thought I might not 🙂 I’m wearing the green, light pink and cream today. Will try the purple another time. Enjoy the weekend too Ksuan!
well, the swatches are really nice and pigmented, like how the pink turns out. I have been playing with it for a few times, so far, yet to succumb to it :),
I checked at 2 counters locally but it was sold out. That might make your mind up for you? 😉
really!? good, now I don’t have to think about it (my wallet is grateful)
LOL!! That’s one way of looking at it 😉 Although there’s loads still available at Changi T2 if you are headed that way 😉
Gosh Paris, the colours are really gorgeous laaaaa 🙂
They areeee!!! 😀 Very subtle colours – very pretty!
The colors are beautiful… tot of getting it till I saw the price. Haha..
Yep they are beautiful – prices also very beautiful 😛
Eh… Am more interested in the Rouge Cocos. ^.^ I first saw this in Taiwan 101 and Tao Yuan airport, but passed it for my beautiful NARS blush. Bwahahaha. But do show us your eye-looks with this baby! (Psst, they’re still available in Jusco MidValley!)
Much as I like the Rouge Coco lippies, they are so drying compared to all the other lipsticks I own. Real pity. Not sure about the Rouge Coco Shine though. Haven’t gone to look at those yet.
The Rouge Coco Shine is gorgeous! Much more moisturizing that the normal Rouge Coco but they are sheer (like the new Dior Addict lipsticks) so maybe not for you?
I really like this eye palette, regretting not getting it when I was in KL 🙁
oh noooOOO!! i want it too! they look so pretty and i always love chanel compacts. they’re gorgeous!
Chanel compacts are sooo classy right? I love them!
You caved! Wheeeeee!!! 😀
I did.. no thanks to you ! 😛
The texture looks gorgeous. Colors go well together. Great photography at that 🙂
Thank you 🙂 The texture is certainly quite different from what I’m used to.
I’m not into sheer eyeshadows but the texture of these really intrigues me… can’t wait to see what looks you create with them.
Ah but Gio, you do such good work with strong pigmented shadows! 😉 I prefer sheerer colours so mistakes don’t show up so much hehe…
I bought this in Jan 2011. yet I still am not using it because I don’t have the heart to ruin the pretty colours. hahaha.
Aww… but you must use it! Its beautiful! 🙂
Oh, Chanel is always wonderful! Classy and hip at the same time. And purple goes really well with greens and blues! At first I thought it was a very difficult colour to deal with, but it proved to be an invaluable wildcard. And this palette surely makes the most of it!
Purples, greens and blues are such peacocky colours aren’t they? Bright and pretty! Thankfully the colours are a little sheer so mistakes are lessened and one can even wear this to work without raising eyebrows 😉
I wanted this palette before but I ended up not getting it. I just thought it was funny how you said “I said I would not but I guess I was wrong…” title. I recently bought the Urban Decay Naked palette. I said I wouldn’t, but I was wondering what’s all the fuss. So, I ordered it. Have fun with your new palette 😀
teehee… The Urban Decay Naked palette is a good one. I hope you like it and have fun playing with it! 😀
