Briefly about Clinique x Milly Pretty in Prints Collection For Spring 2011

February 18, 2011 Paris B 14 Comments

The day I set eyes on the Milly for Clinique pouch, I thought to myself “Pucci! “Don’t you think it looks so Pucci? 😀

Its very pretty and I’d not hide the pouch away in a drawer somewhere. Oh no! I’ll use it to store things… like lipsticks in my handbag or maybe my keys. It’ll be bright and cheery in my bag 😀

This is just a quick look at the Clinique Milly Pretty in Prints palette for Spring 2011. I’ll try to find time over the weekend to grab some swatches and bring you a review next week 🙂

It looks muted as far as a palette goes. The eyeshadows look quite “normal” for Clinique, but I love the look of the blush (do I ever!) and the case is pretty too.

The palette comes in the pretty printed pouch. There is also a pretty pink gloss available but its sold separately.

Who is Milly then? It is designer Michelle Smith who designs under the fashion brand Milly. The Pretty in Prints pouch is a signature print in the Milly collection and inspired by a 1960’s print design in her namesake Milly Pink. I took a look at some of the clothes in Milly and darn it if I didn’t find myself falling in love with her outfits! Sigh…

You know how Pantone declared Honeysuckle to be the colour of 2011? I think the Clinique x Milly collection hit it right out of the park!

Eyeing it yet? 😉

Clinique x Milly Pretty in Prints palette retails at RM180 at all Clinique counters next week. For now its only at Isetan KLCC.

The Pink and the brown eyeshadows seem to be from the Strawberry (insert word) Duo. ^.^ and I was wondering, what gave Pantone the right to decide the “color of the year” ??

Yes there have been comparisons to the Strawberry Fudge duo. To me its just “Clinique colours” because all their palettes tend to have that look, don’t you think? 🙂 Pantone gave themselves the right – they are already the leading authority of colour anyhow 🙂 I first learnt about Pantone when I had to have things printed and was told that if you use Pantone colours and have the colour code, you’ll have the correct colour every single time and I was fascinated with that! 😀 I’m not about to paint my house honeysuckle though.

I love that pink! Though I’m not sure about the eye colours–nothing special in my opinion. 🙂
Hanny, Pantone is the leading colour experts in the design industry. They make the guides that people use for printing 🙂

Clinique looks boring and not so alluring always to me but when I use or get my hands on them, I always am impressed. My friend works for Clinique hence I’m
sometimes gifted with the products. Thanks to her, I’ve become a convert. Used to be Clinique hater for their step 1,2,3 skincare range.Just want to share some winning products that works very well on me: invisible blend loose powder, black honey, powder blush in 104 carefree coral and color surge soft shimmer eye shadow in 213 aquamarine.
This looks like a relatively safe but definately nice to have collection that I will often reach out for. Can’t wait to see swatch and eotd on you!

Teehee… you are so right you know. Clinique’s makeup does tend to look a little boring but sometimes, boring is good. It is what we reach for when we have to go to work, or look polished or just look good without trying too hard. That’s when I appreciate having some of these more “boring” colours around. The basic 1-2-3 didn’t work for me, but some of the other treatment skincare work quite well.

I used to have a blush from clinique that came in a checkerboard – I didn’t feature it because its discontinued but its gorgeous! I love it 🙂 As well as the Shimmering Berries.

I’m not digging the eyeshadows to be honest, but that blush is gorgeous!

Yep! Eyeshadows look quite blah. Lets hope they don’t turn out too blah 😉
