The Pink Cow Strawberry Sundae Bath and Shower Gel : Gotta love the name!

December 2, 2010 Paris B 30 Comments

With a name like The Pink Cow, I did not hesitate one bit to pick up this shower gel. I mean, come on! How could I pass up on a name like that? 😀

I couldn’t find much information about The Pink Cow. It appears to be a little obscure English brand with a very small selection of bath and body products sold in Boots pharmacies.

Let me just show you why I had to pick this up, besides the name:-

reason no. 2 I had to pick this up

Do you not love that? I do. That sort of tongue in cheek humour appeals to the very English part of me 😀

Anyway, I’m not a fan of anything that smells of Strawberry, but when I spotted this at Boots, there was just Strawberry Sundae – A Very Wild Bath and Shower Gel or Coconut Creme – A Very Quiet Bath and Shower Gel. Naturally, I went for Strawberry Sundae. Wild? Yes Please!

Actually no, I’m not wild but I don’t like coconut scented anything either so it was pretty much Strawberry Sundae by default. So, after getting over the cute text and the happy note about this having no parabens, how is The Pink Cow Strawberry Sundae shower gel?

Cor … very nice indeedy missus!

It smells pretty much like a strawberry milkshake. Nothing too fake, nor too sweet. Lathers up a treat and cleans skin without drying too. I was surprised that you only need quite little to get a nice lather which is quite good really since that means you don’t waste, and good for me because I can’t get this one here in Malaysia.

Here’s another thing. Doesn’t it remind you of Philosophy bath and shower gels? I know Philosophy bath and body stuff are immensely popular overseas but I could never get into them because the scents are too sweet and foody for my liking.

But you know why I’d pick up The Pink Cow despite the sweet foody scent (that thankfully goes away and doesn’t linger on the skin)? It was only £2. Yes £2 for a 500ml bottle. Nice? Yes indeedy! 😀

Pros: Cute text, Smells nice and cleans well, Cheap as chips!

Cons: Limited scents, Unavailable in Malaysia, Obscure

Oh here’s another quote from the bottle that I particularly enjoyed:-

Don’t you just love that? Be silly. I think I shall live by that tenet – I like giggly brain cells 😀

I really want to try the others like Vanilla Biscuit or Mint Candy but sadly, I can’t 🙁 Oh well, the next person I know heading to the UK could do me a favour eh? 😉

If you have used anything by The Pink Cow or have even heard about it, I’d love to hear your thoughts. I think they usually retail for £2.99 or something quite similar.

The Pink Cow Strawberry Sundae Bath and Shower gel retails at £2.99 at Boots pharmacies in the UK

OOOO… Usually, I’m allergic to strawberries (aggravates the eczema), but this sounds cute! Now to find something like this in HK or Taiwan…

Well since these are not real strawberries it probably won’t aggravate haha but no promises about the chemicals.

Yep it most certainly is fun. Only Boots UK I’m afraid. I think its just a tiny little company starting out. Would be fun to see if it grows 🙂

Cute! Here in Brazil a branch launched products that were all about cows and milk a while back – very cute too! They even sold a toy cow with piercing and sunglasses amidst body butters. 😀

After reading your review I was so tempted to get one that I’ve contacted a girl who’s doing a UK spree and she quoted me RM27 for the shower gel. Can’t wait to get it. And also I’m going to order the Vanilla one too!
