When I was into perfumes (and I was for a spell – it was expensive 😛 ) and use them everyday, I used to wish my perfume bottles were refillable. I mean, there you have a pretty glass bottle you are finished with, but its such a waste to toss it out.
Yet, if you don’t toss it out, what are you going to do with it? Conundrum indeed. So it is with gratification that I found out that some fragrances these days come in refillable bottles. Flower by Kenzo is one of them.

When you have finished your perfume, you can go out and get the refills or get it refilled at the counter. You save a bit of money, do your bit for the environment and stop tossing out empty bottles.
Everyone wins! Yay! 😀
I remember Kenzo Flower from quite a while back. This fragrance is 10 years old this year after all. I love the simplicity of the tall slim angled bottle, because it stood out from the rest of short squat perfume bottles around, just like a tall poppy flower among the daisies.
Like Kenzo, the fashion brand, the bottle embodies the smooth simple lines of the fashion house. I used to find the scent a little sweet for my nose though while I was younger.
But recently, I had the chance to spritz it on again, and perhaps my body chemistry now suits the fragrance better, because it did not smell as cloying anymore. In fact, I find the light powdery flowery scent almost comforting, and very feminine.

Although the name of the fragrance is delicate, Flower by Kenzo feels a bit strong to me so about 2 spritzes is enough for me. The notes are bulgarian rose, parma violet, wild hawthorn, vanilla, white musk and incense.
To my untrained nose, it starts out a little sweet and flowery but then dries down to a lighter softer more powdery scent on my skin with an almost musky vanilla base note that I particularly like. I live for that base note 😛
It also lasts on me… but I have to be economical with this, because as I have noted, it opens up a bit too floral for my tastes 🙂
I’m not quite sure why Kenzo uses the poppy flower as its symbol. Perhaps its because its addictive, just like poppy juice 😛
Flower by Kenzo has been around for ages and I’m sure you’ve either smelled it or used it at some point in your life. So, what do you think of it? 🙂

Just can’t get the damn thing to work on me. Tried it over and over again and finally admitted defeat. But I collect perfume bottles and plan to turn them into little displays 😉
Fragrances are very personal and lots of popular fragrances don’t work on me either… or make me feel like puking. You do not want to feel that way early in the morning! 😛
Kenzo flower was one of the first few perfumes i fell in love with, and bought 😛 when i was still a student 😛 now i am still loving it! but unfortunately the empty bottle has been disposed…should have kept it right? 🙁 would definitely love to repurchase if i see a good deal
Hmm… Christmas is round the corner which means gift sets! 😀
ahh, bring back sweet memories for me, my best friend gave this for my birthday years ago, and it was my first “serious” perfume, the scent just makes me think of sweet stuffs.
Aww… that’s sweet! No pun intended 😉 It does have a very sweet scent though, which I have to get through to get to that musky base note I like 😛
Hooo… Was never into perfumes… Too expensive for me (I want DKNY Be Delicious Night, though!) Is this the one with Shu Qi for the promo posters?
Erm… no idea who’s on the posters 😛 I’ve only tried DKNY Be Delicious EDT and its so apple-y! I like! LOL
Hehe, proud to be your background :p
I’m ok with the scent after several hours but the initial whiff is just way too powdery/floral for my liking. I like perfumes that are a wee bit “spicy”
Yup! That initial smell is a bit too sweet. When it first launched I couldn’t handle it. Now I can. Does that make me sweeter now ? 😛
Kenzo Flowers~hmm… used this alot years ago, but i gave this out to my cousin as somehow we did not have the chemistry.. i feel like dead flower instead :p
LOL!! Not good to feel like a dead flower – so which one do you like then? 🙂
i am loving the Miracle Forever now.. and its drying up fast. Will check out Womanity soon ^^
Ah I loved Miracle… and then it turned funky on me. Till today, I don’t know why 😛
This was my first ‘grown-up’ perfume! Still have about 1/2 a bottle left and it’s my go-to perfume for most days. 😀
It sure is a go-to sort of perfume 🙂 Its starting to really grow on me
Hmmm I loved how it smell on the tester strip but when it’s on my wrist it became powdery in an instant. I cannot spray it on the warm part of my body or it just changes scent. It happens to most of the perfumes out there except oil based ones. One thing, Kenzo Flower doesn’t last on me. 🙁
That’s the problem with different bodies and perfumes. The chemical reaction can turn out so wrong 🙁
Where can I get my kenzo flower refilled, tried House of fraiser, the fragarnece shop and the perfume shop, any ideas ?
Unfortunately not. The best maybe to ask at the Kenzo counter or contact the fragrance distributor in your country.
