Lovely Lovely Foam from Vichy Purete Thermale Purifying Foaming Water

October 14, 2010 Paris B 14 Comments

Its taken me a while to tell you about this one, because I’ve just had a bit of revelation about this product that came at a good time too. I initially thought that this foaming cleanser was causing the dry skin on my hands. My skin was so dry, it was peeling every single day like a snake shedding its skin. I drafted a post telling you how nice this product was, but dissing it to hell and back.

But I went away and stopped using my regular washes for a while and my hands healed. When I got back, I tried using this again. Its been 2 weeks and I see no signs of dry skin on my hands which are soft and smooth again *ahem* So the culprit all along was the Hada Labo Tamagohada Foaming Cleanser! The Vichy Purete Thermale Foaming Water is vindicated and my draft was deleted! 😀

Which little anecdote brings me to this Vichy Purete Thermale Purifying Foaming Water which is essentially a foaming cleanser. Have I mentioned how much this lazy bum loves foaming cleansers? About a million times, I’m guessing. But yes, I enjoy using self foaming cleansers in the mornings because the soft foam feels lovely on the skin in the morning and I’m too lazy (and bleary eyed from sleep) to foam up the cleanser du jour. (Read here to find out why I think it important to foam up facial cleansers)

This one’s a new addition to the Vichy range of skincare. I’m happy we are seeing more and more Vichy Laboratoies skincare entering our market here in Malaysia. I saw the almost full range in a pharmacy in London – it takes up a whole WALL!

The pink bottle will be perfect for those who like the colour and there is a floral sort of fragrance which I think Vichy should have done without. Pinkness aside, this foaming water promises to remove impurities with Captelae, a botanical shea extract that is highly polarized that grabs onto impurities and cleans your skin while retaining moisture and is soothing and fortifying to the skin.

Having used it for a couple of months, I find that this one does not dry my skin, it cleans a treat, the foam is soft and lovely and I just like it overall.

Oh and its soap free and paraben free, the latter of which seems to be the keyword these days. I use just one pump each time which is sufficient. I only use it once a day and in 2 months I’m just down to 1/3 of the way through the bottle so you do the math 🙂

Pros: Cleans skin without drying, Lovely soft thick foam, Paraben and Soap free

Cons: Fragrance is a little strong, Some might consider it pricey

A 150ml bottle retails at RM65 at Vichy counters. Watch out for discounts so you get a better deal 😉 I spotted travel/trial sized 50ml bottles at Guardian for about RM18.88. These would be perfect for those who want to try it out before buying the full size or in my case, to buy to travel with. When you are in a tiny airplane toilet, you absolutely appreciate a self-foaming face wash, let me assure you!

If you’ve already tried this one, or if you are a foaming cleanser junkie like I am do let me know if you like this 🙂

Ooo the pink bottle sure is pretty! Will try this soon as my morning cleanser will soon run out. Don’t you just love the fact that we can get decent off-the-counter beauty products without paying a bomb? I absolutely do! 😉

You’re right! I do love getting good and affordable beauty products especially for something as quickly used up as cleansers!

Yup! Foaming cleansers are a right boon for us eh? 😉 The travel size is alright – will be good to stick into your travel bag and take with you everywhere since it can fly! 😉

Based on the prices you stated, the travel size bottles look to be cheaper than the full sized ones…

I tried this one – my first Vichy product. Don’t like the smell but like the foam! Didn’t see too much of a brightening effect though.

Bottle’s pink, foam isn’t 🙂 But fragrance might still be a bother.

Vichy has shampoo and conditioner too! Long ago (ok, not that long) Vichy said they would bring in haircare products to Malaysia if market response to their skincare range was encouraging. Guess it wasn’t and isn’t *sigh* 🙁

I used to have frequent breakouts and blemishes and within 2 weeks of using this product, not only did my skin clear up, it glowed 🙂
