A Quick Day to Night Makeup Look with Smashbox Naked Beauty Collection

July 26, 2010 Paris B 34 Comments

If you are reading this post, it means that (a) You survived the weekend! and (b) weโ€™re on the same page after the upgrade of My Women Stuff yay! ๐Ÿ™‚

Smashbox Naked Beauty collection

I was playing around with the Smashbox Naked Beauty collection and realized just how useful it was for creating day to night looks. Well, you canโ€™t use it by itself to create a night look per se. Youโ€™d need some darker eyeshadows on hand but its got everything for a nude lip and a gentle flush on the cheeks so you only really need to add on something for the eyes. I actually hit upon this idea because I needed some quick fixes for when I do travel and I did not want to tote too many things around with me.

Day Look โ€“ Rosy Lips and Neutral Eye

Smashbox Day Look

This is a good look for lazy days or perhaps a weekend or maybe even when youโ€™re on vacation. I used the Naked Beauty High Lights/ Creamy Cheek Duo for the cheeks. Red side for colour and the pearly side on top of it. The effect is very subtle and for some reason, my eyes are looking tiny ๐Ÿ˜›

On lips, I used the Naked Beauty lipgloss in Pure which is a rosy shade. For eyes, I used the Naked Beauty Photo Finish Lid Primer in Golden Nude alone, with black eyeliner and mascara. The lid primer does a great job as a neutral looking cream eyeshadow and lasts all day since it IS a lid primer after all. I hope they bring Golden Nude back as a permanent fixture because its great for lazy days ๐Ÿ˜‰

To take this look to the night, I only changed the lip colour and added on stronger eyeshadow.

Night Look โ€“ Nude Lips and Strong Eyes

smashbox night look

Since we already have an eyelid primer on for the day, all I did was apply eyeshadow over it. I used the Lโ€™Oreal Chrome Intensity Aquadisiac palette which Iโ€™d already shown you earlier. The colours do really get even more intense layered over the Golden Nude lid primer.

I kept the cheeks but changed the lip colour to the Naked Beauty Nude lipgloss โ€“ a nude lip colour as you can see. You canโ€™t have bright lips competing with strong eyes so it was perfect. Plus the teeny tiny tubes of lipgloss are travel friendly. They might be a little too travel friendly because I might just lose them but if I stick them into a pouch, its all good.

So, do you reckon I could just travel with these for a very simple day to night look? ๐Ÿ™‚

Yes, why not?? A day to night โ€œkitโ€ for me, would be eyeliner, mascara, and two different tubes of lipstick, ahahaha. ^.^

Yup! Iโ€™d usually do a brighter lipstick for the night, but canโ€™t have that competing with bright eyes also lol!

Do try! Its a matter of finding the right blue, actually but its something different from the usual black and greys youโ€™d normally get for the night ๐Ÿ™‚

I have a thing for nude/natural makeup. The golden nude lid primer looks lovely! Too bad Iโ€™m a poor student who canโ€™t afford pricey stuff like these. >.<
