Rumours Say … Burberry Cosmetics coming to Malaysia

June 18, 2010 Paris B 14 Comments

Burberry Makeup inspired by the Burberry Trench Coat

When I posted previously that Burberry’s had made their foray into cosmetics, little did I know that we in Malaysia would very soon have a taste of Burberry Makeup!

At least I hope so if the rumours are to be believed. 😀

Burberry makeup is scheduled to go on the shelves mainly in the UK, USA, Canada and Hong Kong in July 2010. Its already June 2010 and we haven’t heard much through the grapevine yet – I reckon they are keeping things very close to their chests for now.

Still, if the rumours are to be believed, we in Malaysia are going to be “with it” for once!

Fingers crossed, I’ll bring you news of this as and when I get it 🙂 *puts on sleuthing hat* I wonder if my initial thoughts are going to pan out.

Wouldn’t it be fun to have a new brand to explore? 🙂

Hmm… am most curious to see how it fares here. We had the lovely Giorgio Armani Cosmetics line which sadly, is gone now. And Calvin Klein’s range never even made it to our shores.

A lot has to do with image and pricing I believe. GA had great stuff but it was boring – it still is to me. And its pricey. I’m thinking Burberry will be regular department store pricing but I hope it won’t be too boring or too neutral or too expensive. CK’s line died which says a lot about the company LOL… but its now back alive. I guess we’ll have to see once they launch (if the rumours are true) 🙂

That would be pretty 🙂 The previous pictures leaked out do show that the checks are embossed on the powder though 🙂

Does it make me a snob if I dislike designers that have nothing to do with cosmetics (or anything) coming out with a line? I prefer to buy from a company that has a base in cosmetics rather than one that maybe outsources it and slaps their name on it instead. Kind of like buying an expensive designer watch but that they are not actual established watch makers. Although I have been tempted by Chanel lipsticks in the past but still never bought any – yet 🙂

Nope not a snob at all 😀 Its the same with fragrances although I have to admit that fashion houses do have the means (and clout) to get their brands going further in the name of diversification 😉

I LOL when I saw the checks on that nude lipstick!!! just what is with Burberry???!!! everything has to have thaat design. I am hoping this is tru as i’d check out their mu instead of bags and clothes, which costs a bomb! 🙂

Oh yeah! They need the checks on everything – its Burberry after all! 😉 Thankfully the bags never really grabbed me but that’s not to say I haven’t been tempted by an item or two 😛
