Revlon Beyond Natural 2 Way Foundation – My fave foundation from the drugstore

June 30, 2010 Paris B 25 Comments

When I picked up the refill of my Revlon Age Defying 2 way foundation at a super steal during the last warehouse clearance, I should have thought better. Because Revlon has come up with a new 2 way foundation! Ack! šŸ˜›

Revlon Beyond Natural 2 way powder foundation

The Revlon Beyond Natural 2 Way Foundation has been out for a while and I’ve been using mine for a while too. It replaces the Age Defying 2 way foundation that comes in the red compact. This was flying off the shelves at one stage. Could never find a Revlon counter that was stocked with this! I’ve always had a soft spot for Revlon’s face products and this one does not disappoint.

There are 4 colours available and my colour is Buff. It suits me to a T and I like that this powder foundation isn’t cakey nor is it too thick. It offers medium-light  coverage which is fine by me.

Revlon Beyond Natural 2 way powder foundation

You can use it with a dampened sponge too for more coverage. I never do because I prefer a lighter looking foundation. The powder evens out my skintone and with a light dusting of Guerlain Meteorites over it, I can almost fake having a flawless glowing complexion. Almost šŸ˜›

The powder does not dry my skin nor look cakey as the day goes on and it contains SPF12 – nothing dramatic but I guess its better than none? Still, it does not replace your daily sunscreen!

The great thing is that this foundation comes in refills too, so I can just replace the pan when I’m done with this foundation. I use it so often (its my to go foundation and one I take when I travel) that having refills is very useful. the problem would be the sponge. It gets manky if you don’t wash it out and even if you do. I don’t think the refills come with sponges but it would be nice if they did. When I refill, or when the sponge gets too urgh! I just use a powder brush.

This Revlon Beyond Natural 2 way foundation retails at RM69 at all Revlon counters but look out for discounts. The price isn’t exactly cheap for something from a pharmacy, but not crazy expensive either.

Pros: Light smooth texture, Medium-light coverage, Asian skintone friendly, Compact packaging, Comes in refill form

Cons: Priced a little high for the pharmacy/drugstore,

I looked on the Revlon international site but I did not spot this in their product line up. I believe this item is an Asia Exclusive, unless anyone in any Western country can tell us if it can be found where you are. I think its a great product.

Have you used this one? Thus far, Revlon face powders have never disappointed me, and in the lower end of the price spectrum, I still go to them for powder foundation because it just works! šŸ™‚

Head over to Daiso when you can, and look for their Sponge Cleaner (would be around their cosmetics section). Works wonders! Google it and you’ll find pics of it, it’s a cylindrical white (slllllightly pinkish) bottle and has the word Detergent on it. The code thingy is C029 (no. 124) and you’ll find it on the bottom right corner on the front of the bottle.

Thanks for the rec! I’ll have to remember the next time I go to Daiso. But usually after going through 1 whole pan of powder foundation with the sponge, my sponges are a goner anyway LOL

i dont use foundation, except on my nose…because i really like the dewy look. no likey matte look. wait. i like my nose to be matte, but my face dewy. ARGH! hehe. but have to admit, this looks good esp if it can be used wet for more coverage…my shu face architect liquid foundation is on it’s last dregs…was looknig for a replacement.

but i have to admit, ur usually matte glowing look (with meteorites of cos) does look tempting!

Haha I love how you just use foundation on the nose – the rest of your skin must be amazing (and your foundation must be really good to blend in šŸ˜‰ ) I’m used to using powder foundation – in this hot humid weather we have, I think its a boon!

Wow..This sounds good. I tried using the highly raved ZA 2-way foundation but it broke me out badly. Not sure how this work.

I haven’t tried ZA but out of all the drugstore powder foundation there is, I’d go for Revlon every time!

Currently, I’m using ZA and quite liking it… Just wondering how would users compare between Revlon n ZA ? ZA is much cheaper than Revlon, right ?

hey, same thoughts here. I’ve been using Revlon powder foundation for the past 6 years and it hasn’t let me down. Occasionally I tried some high end products like Kose, Dior, but the ending result was never like Revlon powder, matte & lasting. The feeling is just like melting into my skin and my friend didn’t even notice I was wearing it (for the past few years) haha. Miracle eh? Now who says cheaper brand can’t beat luxury products?

That’s pretty awesome! Did you start with their Age-Defying foundation too? I fell in love with that one šŸ˜€ This is one cheaper brand that absolutely knocks the socks off many luxury brand foundations (although I do still like my Shu Uemura and Paul & Joe ones… hehe)

Love this! I’m using this now but more for touch ups through the day, it’s indispensable! I won’t leave home without it šŸ™‚

And it travels well too! I tote it when I travel because its not so heartwrenching if anything happens to it šŸ™‚

Hmmm, I’ve never tried Revlon’s powder foundations, but the Colorstay liquid foundation rocks! I love it so much that I ā€œabandonedā€ my Everyday Minerals matte, ahahah. ^.^

Must be great stuff! I’d read a lot about how good Colorstay liquid foundation is, but have never tried it mainly because its full coverage and I’m not quite into that šŸ™‚

You post so much I missed this post šŸ™‚ Am on the hunt for powder foundation specifically the new Kose powder foundation after trying out the sample in Female mag. Only that it is RM199 and then RM160 for refills which is way too much!

Am overjoyed now that Ling commented above saying that Revlon beats even the high end ones. Gonna go check them out this weekend!

Hehe… Glad you picked it up! šŸ˜‰ Its really good – about on par with the Shu Uemura and P&J ones I have – I don’t have many high end powder foundations šŸ˜‰

thanks for the review! colorstay has always been my fav foundation (over loreal true match) but i’ve never used powder foundation before. would you recommend it for skin that gets oily & clogged easily? don’t really wanna fork out RM69 and breakout over it šŸ™

Hi. Was at Caring Pharmacy at Subang Parade today. Saw a lot of the Revlon Beyond Natural 2-Way foundations in stock! But still costs rm69. Was in a rush so didn’t have time to swatch it šŸ™
