Girly time at MWS Open Cafe #3 : Lets get chatty!

Good morning girls!

Don’t those macaroons look gorgeous! Wait till I tell you that its Pineapple, Red Bean and Green Tea flavoured! How about that for fusion food 😉 (and they’re pretty good!)

Anyway its been a while since we had our last chat session so why don’t you grab yourself a macaroon and share some gossip or just what you’ve been up to, in the comments section below.

For me, I just lost a weekend. I ended up working all through last Saturday and Sunday – full days deep into the night and its not quite letting up just yet. The ol’ skin isn’t holding up very well to all this stress I can safely say. The upside is that the Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate might be helping me sleep! I just started using it so I can’t say anything conclusive yet. Stay tuned!

Maybe after all this is over, I’ll run away to a spa somewhere for some much needed R&R.

Have you any spa recs you’d like to recommend? Or lets just talk about you instead. How have you been? 🙂

The comments are open 😀

    Yummmmmy macaroons!
My week’s started off busy with truckloads of work and everyone pulling me in different directions. But I am looking forward for this weekend and next, many happy things coming up!

    How are you doing?

    • ParisB says

      June 29, 2010 at 9:51 am

Am still holding up – coffee helps 😛 The good thing about the week starting busy is that we then get so numb and immune we don’t feel it as much come the end of the week!

      • Jessica says

        June 29, 2010 at 10:06 am

Haha…I don’t know about getting numb but I do know a thing or two about major fatigue! Working 15 hours is just no fun…:(

        • ParisB says

          June 29, 2010 at 10:09 am

ooh poor you! After 15 hours even I would be numb 😛

I don’t even know what this weekend bodes – if it’ll be work or some much needed rest (and clearing up the pigsty I call my home) LOL Hope things lighten up soon dearie!

i’ve been so stressed at work i’ve broken out into a bad rash. now i’m sitting at home donig work. =.=

and of course, getting my daily dose of Paris. =P

hmmm spa…how bout try the new DeCleor spa in Mid Valley? opened just next to Jurlique. it uses aromatherapy infusions so it’s very relaxing, and the aromaplasty which costs 230 is now at an introductory price of RM98! and it’s really good, because while your doing your face they will massage your shoulders and back, hands and arms, and feet up to your knees. so it’s actually a better deal than a normal massage! and at RM98 only…i enjoyed it!

can’t imagine YOUR skin having problems tho…it always looks so good!

anyway, glad to report that i have joined the ranks of Tine, Connie, Kahani and so on for the love of Clinique moisture surge! all night creams make me break out, but yesterday i slathered on the CMS and this morning, despite me having my period soon, my skin is fine! it’s amazing!

and i LURVE the Dior crystal gloss too! i’m definitely getting a backup! it totally glossy and pouty without the dreaded stickiness!

    • ParisB says

      June 29, 2010 at 10:01 am

Yay! 2 products I enjoy too – Clinique Moisture Surge and Dior Crystal Gloss *high 5* And at RM98 damn! I gotta give that facial a shot – they don’t hardsell do they? I hate going for a lovely relaxing time and then getting all stressed out at the hardsell thereafter.

Sorry to hear you’re breaking out in a rash – I’m breaking out but strangely mostly on my chin – I’m not sure what gives

      • Sugar says

        June 29, 2010 at 11:19 am

not really hardsell, but they do want your feedback, and all you have to do is just tell them you’re gonna go home and wait for the results on your skin, take their card and tell them you’ll call them if you like it. but they keep quiet while ur doing your facial.

yes man me lurve the gloss! usually i hate glosses which are sticky and gloopy looking, and i couldnt bring myself to try the Stage lipglosses altho they are so raved about because when i went to the store i didnt like the weird creamy looking colors.

told u my lips r weird, very full and yet dry so i really cnat use colored or pigmented gloss. but the dior crystal…is just so sigh…larvelee!

have you tried the body shop honey and oat mask yet? super yummy…i really almost wanted to eat it. =P

        • ParisB says

          June 29, 2010 at 11:33 am

Ahh… I shall do as you tell me then – RM98 is pretty good! 😀 Compared to the Dior Crystal Gloss, the Stage Wondergloss will feel a lot heavier. So you probably won’t like that. I haven’t tried the Body Shop mask and it sounds like something I might like for breakfast! LOL

Ohh..I didn’t go anywhere last weekend. Just not in the mood for ‘jalan-jalan’. I spent time at home, finishing my sewing project: a t-shirt shopping bag 🙂

Anyway Paris, ‘thanks’ to your post about cloth pad, now I’m an ‘addict’. Just purchased Homestead Emporium pads from Hyenacart…My collection is enough for a whole period now 😀

    • ParisB says

      June 29, 2010 at 11:18 am

Ahhh… I can’t sew to save my life! How exciting to be making your own shopping bag 😀 Maybe you could make your own cloth pads too – I have read how tos online and it doesn’t seem hard (I’m glad my post about them helped – its certainly helped me with the horrible chaffing!)

      • Indira says

        June 29, 2010 at 12:03 pm

Dear Paris, my sewing skill is terrible 😛
It’s just for hobby, to make custom-sized bags.
Right now I’m not interested on making my own cloth pad…the fabrics aren’t wildly available here (PUL, zorb, bamboo etc) so it’s easier to buy LOL

        • ParisB says

          June 29, 2010 at 12:09 pm

Hey the fact is that you are actually sewing (and I don’t believe your skill is that terrible else you could never sew! 😉 ) Now when I say I have no skill, it means buttons fall off and I stop wearing those clothes coz I can’t (or won’t) sew them back LOL

  11. yani says

    June 29, 2010 at 11:08 am

hahaha, me too! Just keeping fingers crossed that I can actually leave for home on time today!

I needed something to brighten up the day, so it’s YSL’s Rouge Volupte in Rose Culte! 🙂

    • ParisB says

      June 29, 2010 at 11:19 am

Looks like a lot of colorings in those stuff! Pardon me, i have been on organic stuff lately and becoming more careful what goes in my mouth……

Me had a long weekend, down in Sin visiting my hubby, spend our day with movie A-Team and walking around…..nice!

wish u and the rest a lovely day,

No probs! Macaroons aren’t for everyone (I’m not into them coz of the sweet factor) but most macaroons are bightly coloured else no one would want to eat them LOL… Am supposed to head down south soon but am suddenly too lazy to 😛

Ms B, i have also been thinking a lot about that Bellevue GM LV bag you bought. Now with the drop in Euro, been thinking more and more about it….ha ha ;-D
But i have not seen many people carrying it, even in Sin. How do you find it? Could u please do a small review on it?

    Thanks!
    cheers,
    lemon. ;-D

    • ParisB says

      June 29, 2010 at 11:53 am

Uhoh did I suck you in? 😉 I actually love it (and got it) because its different. Reason its not so visible is likely because its much more expensive since its leather and not canvas. It only comes in Vernis for now so you must love patent leather to love it. I liked it in the smaller handheld version (it also comes in a slightly larger version you can sling) because it just looked cuter.

The interior is large but because it tapers towards the zip, you can’t fill it up too much or it might spoil the shape. I have used it for work and it goes quite effortlessly to evening, and it works for weekends too. I thought the patent leather might be a pain but to my surprise, its held up marvellously! Doesn’t scratch easily and although its a fingerprint magnet, it comes with a cloth you can easily use to buff away prints.

If you can get it in France, do. Its cheaper than over here. Why not go to a boutique and try it on. You’d only know if its something that might work for you once you try it on for size and practicality 😉 Whew! Mini review indeed 😉

      • lemon says

        June 29, 2010 at 1:12 pm

        Yes u did!

i did checked it out in Sin, looks really nice. yes i do agree, the vermis leather is outstanding and does not shout LV from afar unlike the other monogram bags.

tks for the quick review and time. yeah, in france, it is a lot cheaper now. 😉

        cheers,
        lemon

Bodyshop’s seaweed mask is great for clearing breakouts, leaving pores super clean in just 5mins. Love it!
i should go buy some macaroons. Don’t think i have eaten before.

Just wondering if I could join in… *timidly raising hand*

For the w/e I had to get my arse off early to travel to somewhere I had not been, i.e. Bangsar to take a French test…I just got my driving licence so I was yet allowed to drive a car 🙁 But that’s such a lovely place! I liked BV II…quiet. Men did open the door and waited for the lady to go! I was so shocked, that’s probably the first and only time I had that since I got back to KL.

Since last week I have been dealing with the new flat (I think you’d wanna be my neighbour *chuckle*) and hopefully will sort out most things (those 20 huge boxes shipped from London!) by tomorrow before I start working on Thurs.

Another question…how come a corporate woman who has to even work on w/e has the time to do all this? God, that must be such a commitment! What about “me” time, family and friends “time” or even boyfriend time? I am just so busy with all the stuff and actually asked my fiancé to do the wedding planning! It’s not another thing I wanna get myself stressed about!

As for les macarons, I am drooling all over! I have not eaten for a long while! An afternoon tea with macarons in La Duree is definitely a pamper!

And now awaiting a parcel from net-a-porter.com patiently…

    • ParisB says

      June 29, 2010 at 1:47 pm

Of course you can join in Lee! The cafe’s open just for today 🙂 and I’m gasping just reading about how hectic your weekend is! But gosh isn’t it exciting to move into a new place? I love it – my own is always a work in progress 😀

As for how I manage, its multi-tasking dah-ling! Oh and scheduling too so I’m not always in front of the computer … except now 😉 so… What d’ya get from netaporter? Haven’t tried buying from them yet

p/s Didn’t know you are getting married – congratulations! Oh and its a change not to hear of the bride stressing herself out about the impending wedding!

      • Lee says

        June 29, 2010 at 9:56 pm

After a whole day of moving and running around, finally…!
It is exciting but the stuff laid in front is just…I wish there were another person to help!

I am trying to multi-task too…uh, but sometimes I think I am like a man/PC, I can’t multitask efficiently! Not when I have so much to do in so little time.

I got a MIU MIU deerskin tote, a present for nailing the new job 😀 And a Lanvin pochette to go with…

Thank you! Monsieur will have more free time than me, so he should do the planning and all that…half a year would give enough time, I hope…

This is such a nice thing to do once in a while, le cafe talk! xxx

Congrats on your new job and gosh! A Miu Miu! Sounds lovely – I’m sure you deserve every bit of it 😀

I love that you left the wedding plans to Monsieur – just turn up as the gorgeous blushing bride eh? 😉

We’ll be sure to have another cafe chat session soon. I enjoy this just as much as I hope you have!

    June 29, 2010 at 1:57 pm

Hi Paris. I’ve never tried macaroons! Somehow, I always had the impression that they were coco-nutty in flavour 😀

I feel inspired by your post on Guerlain Mythic Meteorites Perles. I need a glow on my face. Partly, it’s because I experienced “make-up fatigue” which lasted for one month. In short, I got lazy and tired of the extra time taken in the mornings.

Now I’m trying to pull myself out of it – forced self to apply minimal make-up for work today. I’ve decided to add interest by trying new things such as getting eyebrow templates to draw brows, start using eyeliner and possibly experiment with false lashes (very natural ones, of course!)

This was also inspired by your “How to wear false lashes – I Nuovi Pro Lash 05” post. I have a question: Is it possible to apply false lashes on small mono-eyelids? Looking at your pix, I’m not sure if you have double or mono eyelids.

oops.. this comment has become quite long. I really appreciate your feedback on this! Thanks! XOXO

    • ParisB says

      June 29, 2010 at 2:04 pm

Oh I know what you mean about being in a rut – some days I don’t even want to put anything on my face! But isn’t the little effort worth while? 😉 As for false lashes, I’m still no good at it so I still rarely wear them. If you want something natural, I’d suggest you try I Nuovi – they come with their own glue, and are easier to wear I find. I have single lids with just a hint of a double-lid. Don’t worry – false lashes fit most eyelids 🙂 If you have very small eyes, try the I Nuovi half lashes – better bang for your buck too!

Oh and macaroons come in a variety of flavours – I’m sure coconut is one of them! 😉

I’m on sick leave. Staying home….and cleaning up my junk. Hahahaa….

I realise my skin is better but oilier instead of dry patches when I stay out of aircon room and don’t fly around so much. I tend to slack on skin care if my skin doesn’t have problems. Just back to the basic 3 steps.

    • ParisB says

      June 29, 2010 at 2:06 pm

I hope you are feeling better by now.

The recent spell of being at work so much (strong air cond) has found my skin developing dry patches. So you might be onto something – air conditioning = bad! But in hot weather, essential unfortunately 🙁

As for spa, thats reminds me of 1 I went last year after all the exams… It’s called Khareyana Spa in PJ State…. do check out their website http://www.khareyana.com/ Ask for Novi as your masseuse…she’s GOOD!!! – coming from me who like someone a lil bit harder, but of cuz u can always request for lighter stroke if you can’t take it. She knows her stroke well!! I did the package and its very very reasonable and the ambience is calming!! That place is <3 <3 <3!!!
