New: Juice Beauty ColorCare Natural Organic Makeup

May 28, 2010 Paris B 15 Comments

I was recently invited to the unveiling of the Juice Beauty Organic Makeup line in Malaysia. A little about that later. Since the makeup is just launched in the USA in April as well, it looks like we in Malaysia aren’t too far behind.

The key principle in this makeup line is natural and organic, just like their skincare. Fruit juices and aloe vera juice play a big part and for the powder foundation, you can expect something along the lines of mineral powder foundation. Same principles.

Juice Beauty Colorcare Refining Finishing Powder

For the base makeup, there is Perfecting liquid foundation, Refinishing Finishing Powder, Blemish Clearing Powder and Correcting Concealer. The liquid foundation felt quite light on the skin and the finishing powder can be used on its own as loose powder foundation too. It operates quite like mineral foundation. The blemish clearing powder is supposed to help those with acne – I’m not sure how that works or if it does. It comes in only 1 colour.

I was quite intrigued by the correcting concealer. If I were to try 1 item in future, it would be the concealer. The foundations and power were a little yellow I thought. The color cosmetic line is more limited.

They did not have the proper items for the colour cosmetics at the launch, only lab samples. Apparently, the actual products are “on the way” and should be on shelves by now.

Juice Beauty eyeshadow and lipgloss

The eyeshadow comes in loose powder form. If you are familiar with mineral powder eyeshadow, you will be familiar with these. Like many mineral powder eyeshadows, they look very pretty in the pot, but apply a little sheer. I was taken with the melon and green shades but they swatched a little too sheer for my liking. If you like sheer washes of colour you might like these. I personally prefer pressed shadows for now – its easier for makeup newbies too.

There were also lipglosses and lipsticks in the collection and eyeliner pencils. Quite a decent collection for a new brand and something that might potentially interest me but for the fact that I was underwhelmed by the launch event.

The representative from Juice Beauty from California was friendly and informative, but from my brief experiences with the local distributors, I feel they could do better in terms of public relations. A couple of things I think the organizers or local distributors might want to take note of is to provide press kits or releases and have price lists of products on hand and also to interact and communicate with those present. They are after all the face of the brand here in Malaysia and if they are passionate about their brand, I would be too but they weren’t and thus my rather lukewarm feel. This is my personal view and may not be shared by others who attended the same event.

So, whinging aside, does the natural and organic makeup line from Juice Beauty intrigue you? Have you tried any Juice Beauty products? I haven’t. If I have, you’ll be sure to know 😀

Organic + mineral powder foundation = what a great idea!!!
It’s gonna very benefit to our skin compare to the conventional type of foundation.
Do you have the selling price info? Please share with us. Thanks!

Hi Paris, it’s really disappointing for the customer service we are getting here in Malaysia. I’ve read bad reviews from some bloggers who went to check out the newly opened Burt’s Bee store here too. The Juice Beauty make up line looks uninteresting to me, think Loccitane ones look better.

Customer service is one thing – to be fair a couple of their SA in store are quite helpful. I just did not expect the representatives from the local distributors of the brand to be having a lukewarm attitude at the launch because everyone was there to give them the buzz they wanted. Still, maybe it was just me that felt that way 🙂

Spotted their store a while ago since I always in Mid Valley/Gardens, however there is nothing that could attract me to walk in except for the organic part. Dr Hauchska and Zuii Organic just came in, I think I would be more interested in checking their range. Any skincare from Juice worth mentioning?

Ooh I didn’t know dr. Hauchska is here! I enjoyed some of their products from a while back 🙂 I haven’t used anything from Juice Beauty but their apple range is supposed to be their bestseller.

This is my first organic skin care brand, previously I was using Loreal and other brands. I find that their hydrating mist very good. It provide ample amount of moisture for my skin in the dry & cold air cond office environment. I cant wait to try their organic make up. I was hesitant at first, because I’ve never heard of this brand before, but their SA manage to convince me to change to organic path after explaining to me about the harmful ingredients like paraben, etc. Di Mal, try their antioxidant serum! I love it because it gives me a glow after I’ve used it overnight.

I am using Juice Beauty products and it works great on my face. I have a hyper allergic/dry skin and I am allergic to all toners regardless they are 100% tested or alcohol free.

The anti-oxidant serum is great ! awesome and superb, you can see the different in a night. The cleaning milk is ok, quite ok but i found moisturizer rather too thick and i felt like my face is melting as its oily result. Hydrating Mist is nice, really fresh and i like the smell. I have not try the green apple peel yet but i have heard lots of good comment about it.

I don’t know their price in here but in thailand it is real expensive, as expensive as SISLEY. I honestly think that you don’t have to buy a complete set, just anti-oxidant serum would do.

    Greetings from Korea.
Recently i was making my visit to Malaysia…
it just so happens to be last week..because i was here to attend for the concert for super junior on the 18th of March.
staying right next to the mall was indeed a great facility.
    easy and convenient.
I just so happens to drop by Juice Beauty that day but infact i was getting a very warm welcome from the staffs over there.
I was eventually impressed by the english they can speak.
and its easy enough for us to communicate without any problems occur.
but the most amazing thing was that they can actually speak in korean too!

But what is most impressive was at the way the staff introduce me to their product..i used to use chemical product and didnt care about the the effect. all i want is a perfect, flawless skin and repair asap.
but i realize something else when i receive some advice by some professionals.
they told me that whatever we put on our skin, it’ll absorb into our blood as well.
it will give harm from the inside. and also very dangerous for pregnancy.
they convince me to use organic products.
i used their Cleansing gel, Hydrating Mist, Soothing serum and oil free moisturizer a have a sensitive and oily face.
besides my sensitive face improve, my oil balance is balance as well.
im loving it and recommend for everyone.
i’ll definitely get more when i visit Malaysia the next time.

    Juice Beauty Nomu Jjang!!!
