My love affair with Lady Dior and the Shanghai Exclusive Blue collection

May 23, 2010 Paris B 18 Comments

Someday, I tell myself often. Someday I will/might own the iconic Lady Dior tote bag from the House of Dior. Actually, I only found out yesterday that the Lady Dior is more than just the tote. It also comes in a hobo which actually suits my purposes better.

Truth be told, I did own a Lady Dior tote from Dior Cosmetics’ Summer 2009. For me, Dior has not topped that release till now. However, that Lady Dior compact now lives with a friend together with its bigger roomier twin 🙂

My love affair with the Lady Dior started a few years ago on a trip to Hong Kong. I stepped into the Dior boutique in one of the malls, and just fell in love with the design and the to-die-for lambskin leather. I am partial to top handle bags so this one was right up my alley.

I never knew it had a name to be honest. I just knew it as the quilted bag from Dior. It was apparently popularized by the late Lady Diana but I didn’t know that. Tells you what little I know or how closely I follow trends 😛 Also explains why I’m late jumping on the bandwagon.

I’ve popped into the local Dior boutique now and again to admire the Lady and to put it back again on the shelf with a regretful sigh. The small one retails at about RM6,000+ Far too much than even I am willing to pay.

The larger one is about RM9,000+ I believe but it makes me look like I’m carrying a briefcase so that’s a no go. The small one looks a tad too small. So, size and price conundrums will have me admiring these pieces from a far for now.

Still I can gawk. And gawk I will at the exclusive Blue collection for Shanghai.

I love the colour! And I love that this one comes with a strap. Unfortunately, this and a few other items are limited edition items and are exclusive to the store in Shanghai in line with the reopening of the Dior store there.

Lucky Shanghai people! Read more about it on Purseblog.

Anyway, when/if I ever end up with the Lady Dior tote, it will be in lambskin black with silver hardware. That too will be how my Chanel flap bag will look.

Yeah, in my dreams 😛

For now, I’ll luxuriate in the Lady Dior Soft Hobo that I just picked up 😀

Lady Dior Soft Hobo

Yes, a white as new snow lambskin leather bag. Just asking for trouble eh? 🙂

Congratulations on your new toy! White. Lambskin. Right up my alley.

Re: shanghai release. I’ve a way of bringing it in to melbourne. My fav sales person at dior melbourne offered but I gave the poor man an earful about this stupid shanghai-release crap. You know there’s no love lost between china and I 😛

But I felt so guilty abt ranting and raving I got him the best melbourne coffee there was 😛

Ah hah! So that was the big purchase 😉

I’ve loved and always wanted a Lady Dior since I saw it in a magazine many, many years ago, and it’s the red one. Now that I’m *thinking* of maybe getting one, I can’t decide between the lambskin and the patent leather. I like the darker red, but they don’t have it in natural lambskin. Tim absolutely hates patent leather ‘cos he thinks it looks chiplak 😛

You’re getting the LD Tote? Awesome!! It looks amazing in Red but I think the LD looks better in lambskin vs patent. Unfortunately I’m with Tim on this one! 🙂

I’ve actually never seen the Blue Shanghai one. But the small Lady Dior is either RM6k+ or RM8k+ I can’t remember anymore 😛

I remember when I first tried the #antipodesskinca I remember when I first tried the #antipodesskincare Aura Manuka Honey Mask. It blew my mind away! Soothes skin. Boosts hydration and just makes you feel like you have the best skin ever! Not kidding. If you have a spot or irritated skin, it calms it down and helps get rid of your spots too. Honey is anti bacterial after all, so it’s a great multitasker.
I also love the Manuka Honey Skin brightening Day Cream. It’s light but creamy and sinks into the skin. I’ve reviewed them both on the blog in the past. If you run a search for Antipodes, you’d also notice how much I love the brand! 😁
I’m super late with this but if you’re planning to purchase any of these 3 Manuka honey items from TNS Skinlab, the code MYWSTUFF10 will give you an extra 10% off (until tomorrow 31 Dec) I highly recommend grabbing the Aura mask. You’ll never want to be without (I always have a backup!)
Thanks for the gift @tnsskinlab and I must apologise for my tardiness 😩 I’ll learn to cope better from next week!
Now I have to scuttle and write my year end musings. Some traditions must be kept! 😜

It’s my first year doing retail and honestly, I’d never been so busy! The year-end rush is unreal! But busy is good, right? At least that’s what I tell myself 😂

Had a bit of breather today and put together a little video. Blink and miss my little monster 🐶 helping me shop! Not sponsored but I did receive a gift from L’Occitane, for which my sun-exposed, dry dog-walking skin thanks you!
Haven’t done any Christmas shopping this year. It has only just struck me that it’s but mere days away! 😨 Have you done yours?
