Let’s Talk Beauty Talk OxySolution Mousse and OxyMask

May 6, 2010 Paris B 15 Comments

About a month plus ago, Nicole of AiShop sent me the Beauty Talk OxySolution Mousse which came with a trial pack of the OxyMask and OxyAqua. I was actually more interested in the OxyMask – I’d read about the foaming effects and I was curious. So what did I think about the products? Let’s start with the OxySolution Mousse because that’s the full sized bottle.

Beauty Talk Oxygen Series Skincare from Taiwan

Beauty Talk OxySolution Mousse (RM79.90/110ml)

This is touted as a makeup remover, cleanser and toner for sensitive skin. It is supposed to be non irritating and does not strip skin of moisture. Looks like a miracle, sounds like a miracle but is it?

I must say it did not work for me as a makeup remover. I don’t wear heavy makeup but it took about 5 pieces of cotton pad to remove my eyeliner and mascara and another 3 pieces of cotton pad to remove the rest of my makeup. That was the 1st day.

On Day 2 I tried applying the mousse straight on my face, and massaging to remove the makeup. After tissuing off, eyeliner and mascara were still present as was residual shimmer. So I stopped using it as makeup remover and went back to my regular removers.

As a cleanser, its not bad. Once I get my makeup removed, the OxySolution Mousse cleans my skin nicely without the slippery feel of most cleansers and does not leave it feeling tight. It does have a watery feel and they say you don’t have to wash it off, but I do. I did not try it as a toner.

Pros: Multitasking product, Does not dry out skin, Feels gentle

Cons: Did not remove my makeup well and efficiently

Credit where its due, I’d take this if I were going away. It multitasks fairly well (provided I carry enough cotton pads) and will help cut down luggage space and weight. At home where I have all my regular products with me, I find it hard to find a space for the Oxysolution Mousse. The OxyMask fares better to me.

Beauty Talk OxyMask (sample) – Full Size RM188.80/50ml

With the OxySolution Mousse came a sample pack of 2 OxyMask and a tube of OxyAqua. I was interested in the mask because it sounds like so much fun! The little sample I had lasted me 2 uses. You are recommended to finish up the sample pack within a week once opened, so I did.

The OxyMask squeezes out a clear gel-like texture. You have to work quickly. Apply this gel all over your face and then sit back. The gel will immediately start to foam up on your skin! The fizzy popping feel of the foam is really fun. Its supposed to be the oxygen at work, delivering oxygen to our skin – dunno how true that is, but this is a bestseller for the brand.

Once all the fizzing and popping has quietened down, wash off the foam mask and moisturize as normal. The OxyAqua gel is adequate for this purpose.

I only had 2 samples – 4 uses so I don’t know how good this OxyMask is in the long term. So if there’s one item in the Beauty Talk brand that has me going “Hmm… maybe I’d like to try that!” it would be the Beauty Talk OxyMask. At RM188.80/50ml I’m not sure about it though.

Pros: Fun, Skin feels soft and moisturized

Cons: Expensive

Have you tried either of these products? Or perhaps you are going “Beauty what?!” Beauty Talk is a brand from Taiwan and you might have seen them around 🙂 Do you have an experience to share with this brand?

I must agree that its certainly fun! I can’t see the benefits after just 4 uses though so I can’t tell what happens in the long run

I actually did a review on the Oxymask not too long ago:

Did not really do much for me but I did find it fun 🙂 For the price you pay (full size), there are much better masks out there. I also have the mousse cleanser and don’t like it because it did not really clean my face. Or maybe I’m not using it correctly.

Thanks for sharing Lyn! 🙂 I find the mousse ok if used after cleaning off makeup, because if its used to clean off makeup, you use too much and its just an average cleanser. I think its meant to be like a wipe off thing like those cream cleansers out there except this is water based, since it can be left on the skin.

I prefer sensoieur bulle masque as the price is only 88(30ml)..it helps to brighten and smoothen the skin..it seems the bubbles send oxygen into your skin..

There’s a brand called Cosline in Mid Valley’s Jusco pharmacy that has an oxygen mask too, for about 89.90! Muse reviewed it the other day, apparently it’s pretty good. 😀

Hey Paris, I’ve tried the mask and I find that it does nothing for me. If left on too long, I find it burns the skin too.

Hey, i bought this from aishop website before. I purchased the trial pack. I am very satisfy with the result of Oxy Mask & Oxy Aqua. I will definitely buy the normal size this month. I am thinking if i should buy Oxy Solution as well? If it cannot remove makeup, then seems like not so useful. I just need to remove my BB cream & eyeshadow (without eyeline) Do you think it works?

I didn’t think Oxysolution made a good makeup remover at all to be honest. Not something I’d use daily for this purpose

Dear Leny, i tried Oxy solution before. And i love it to be frank! it’s like a better version of toner to me.. great stuff. You can still wash your face with cleanser, then use the oxy solution as 2nd layer of cleansing. it works like a toner as well. I love it
