Bursting into colour – Revlon ColorBurst Lipstick in Mauve

May 25, 2010 Paris B 17 Comments

Revlon COlorburst Mauve

Today, we will see Revlon Colorburst Mauve lipstick in action.

When I hear Mauve, I think purple! Purple on my lips?! Eeks! But no. The Revlon Color Burst Mauve lipstick is a rosy shade with a tinge of lilac berry so its quite a cool colour – temperature wise not cool hip 😛 On lips, it looks pretty much as it does in the tube for me.

So mauve on down to see the swatch. hurhur 😛

I wore it in a fairly everyday sort of look because this is a sort of everyday colour lipstick. In fact, this is a colour I started with back in college (from Maybelline) and its still a colour I like wearing.

  • Face: Dior Nude Glow Complexion Enhancer, Diorskin Nude liquid foundation, Guerlain Meteorites Nacre des Mers
  • Eyes: Prestige single eyeshadows – Verdigris (dark green), Iguana (deep green), Gold, Lancome Virtuose Precious Cells mascara
  • Cheeks: Guerlain 4 Eclats Sculpting Blush Rose Plein Vent

I wore this to work, as I do. I kept the overall look on the cool side to match the lip colour and its a lovely everyday sort of lipstick colour that adds a touch of colour to your face yet doesn’t scream out “I’m wearing lipstick! Look at meeee!”

How would you wear Mauve? 🙂

your skin is simply GLOWING woman! jealous. i suddenly got a minor breakout today, very annoyed. spoils my whole day when i wake up in the morning n see those little pimples staring back on my otherwise clear cheeks. lucky it’s only on my left cheek or i’ll be thundercloud face the whole day – cause i’m shallow like that. =P

Thank you! Actually, thank Guerlain and the Dior foundation! Haha… Go back, do a quick pore cleansing mask or aspirin mask and I hope your skin clears up soon.

These are colours best swatched yourself 🙂 Mauve is a very safe colour for me – its colour yet not super striking.

That’s a very pretty shade. I thought it looked kinda boring in the tube, but on the lips, it looks gorgeous! But blush is also very pretty too. 🙂

I have more or less the same colouring as you and mauve would be something I stick into my handbag and that I carry around at all times. It would be my “to-use-when-I’m-too-lazy-to-think” colour. =P

That makes it kind of boring and would love to try Blush. That might be the perfect nude for me. Most nudes make me look washed out.

Same! I don’t usually wear nude or neutral lipsticks because they make me look terrible. Blush worked because there is a rosy tint. Otherwise, for a touch of colour, Mauve does it fine 🙂
