Spring into April: L’Occitane Eco Refills, Clarins Everlasting Foundation, Biotherm Makeup Base, Estee Lauder Nutritious Vita Mineral Pressed Powder

April 3, 2010 Paris B 6 Comments

While we Spring into April lets take a look at a bunch of new cosmetics on offer by various brands. Actually, it matters not to me whether it is Spring or Summer since here at the MWS HQ in KL its always hot and recently always drenching us in crazy thunderstorms. But lets not talk about the weather and talk about some April newbies instead.

L’Occitane Eco Refills

L’Occitane goes eco friendly by offering refill packs for your favourite Shea Body Wash and Immortelle Foaming Facial Cleanser! I’m thinking of picking them up and sharing with a friend – its a lot cheaper buying refills when I already like the products and have empty containers handy 😉

Shea Butter liquid soap (Lavender, Sweet Almond, Verbena) – RM45/400ml
Immortelle Brightening Foaming Facial cleanser – RM139/300ml

Biotherm Makeup Base and Eye Illuminating Base

Biotherm harnesses the White D-Tox Bright Cell complex and puts it into a makeup base with colours to diffuse light and to give you a brighter more radiant look while helping with whitening action. There are 5 colours available – White (whitening), Ivory (Illuminating), Blue (luminosity), Green (anti-redness), Coral (rosy glow) and Purple (Even skintone). Pick your base to suit your needs. Comes complete with SPF30 for UVA and UVB protection. Also new is the Eye Illuminating Base with SPF20 and anti-blue pearl pigment to counteract dark circles and make your eye area look brighter. Definitely fascinating! I tried the old version of the Biotherm makeup base in Purple and it does even out skintone. I just haven’t come round to getting anymore.

Biotherm Makeup Base – RM135/30ml
Biotherm Eye Illuminating Base – RM135/30ml

Clarins Everlasting Foundation

Clarins launches a new long lasting foundation for 15 hours of flawless hold, hydration and radiance. Key ingredients are silicones, white clay and hectorite for high fidelity flawlessness and mother of pearl for radiance. There is also UVA and UVB protection and SPF15. I haven’t tried Clarins’ foundation so I can’t tell you how it fares but if you have, do share!

Clarins Everlasting Foundation – RM125

Estee Lauder Nutritious Vita Mineral Pressed Powder

New in the Nutritious line of makeup is the pressed powder with SPF15 PA++ with pomegranate extract and Titanium Dioxide for UVA and UVB protection. The new pressed powder offers long lasting coverage for sensitive skin absorbing oil and offering a diffused radiant outlook. Haven’t checked out Estee Lauder in ages! Now’s probably the best time 🙂

Nutritious Vita Mineral Pressed Powder (4 shade) – RM130/refill

So, which item has caught your attention? For me, its all 4 😛 They all offer such different attractions!

Happy weekend!

I’m interested in the Biotherm base… I have like signs of redness around my face, which I completely have no idea how to control. ^.^ And you know what, I actually saved enough to get something high end, just about the RM 100 to RM 150 zone. ^.^ Thanks for your advice!!

These colored bases do help mask skintone problems. It might be worth taking a look.

I’m gonna test out biotherm’s bases and compare them with mac’s Prep + Prime Fortified Skin Enhancer SPF 35/PA+++ when that is launched here hopefully soon! Biotherm has more choices in colour though.
