New Neutrogena Hydro Boost Moisture Range

April 9, 2010 Paris B 22 Comments

How often have you had your skin analyzed and been told “Your skin is dehydrated – you need more moisture”? If you have oily skin, you might be thinking its a load of bollocks. Well, oily skin can be dehydrated too – you just don’t realize it because of the oil.

Realizing the need for moisture, Neutrogena has come up with a new Hydro Boost Moisture range of products. They are already available at local pharmacies.

The key ingredient in this range is hyaluronic acid – ah! There is that magical word again. We have been seeing it a lot lately haven’t we? 🙂

The star product in this range is the Neutrogena Hydro Boost water gel cream which is light in its gel like texture although the fragrance is a little strong. I have my guest reviewer using this one so we will hear from her soon with her thoughts on this product – I haven’t tried it myself so I’m keen to know how good it is.

I had to show you pictures of the event launch this time because I thought it innovative. There were synchronized swimmers doing their “thang” prior to the launch which everyone in the crowd appreciated. Not often do you get to see synchronized swimming up close – usually you’d be up in the stalls, peering through a pair of binoculars or squinting at the TV 😉

I tested some of the products in situ to see how they felt on the skin. My initial view is that the fragrance in the products are quite strong – a floral sort of strong. If you aren’t sensitive to smell, you won’t feel it. If you are, you might want to take a hefty sniff before you buy it.

Plue has a review of the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Mousse Cleanser on her blog and she loves it. I am partial towards mousse cleansers myself so I could like this one – I’ll pick it up once I finish up my current mousse cleansers – just a bit more to go! 🙂

The Hydro Boost Essence went on the skin very light (and quite strong in fragrance) but took quite a long time to absorb. I also found it left the back of my hand feeling a bit sticky. The star product Hydro Boost Water Gel is light and absorbs more quickly than the essence, leaving the back of my hand feeling soft and smooth. Its the back of my hand mind. 😛 I naturally couldn’t test the sheet mask 😛

Like I said, we’ll have a review of the Hydro Boost Water Gel coming up once my guest reviewer is done testing so watch out for that if you’d like to know how it fares (since its so new in the market). I’ve got a price list below – its the retail prices but you can always watch out for discounts at the pharmacies and roadshows 😉

Have you tried anything from the Neutrogena Hydro Boost range that you’d like to share your thoughts on? Take a gander in the comments below.

Wah what a coincidence!! My review on the mask is scheduled for monday! 😀

Neutrogena masks have always worked for me and this is no exception… me likes!! Thankfully the mask doesn’t have any fragrance to it! I don’t like strong scents too! 😛

I used to like the Fine Fairness masks and now that you say the masks have no fragrance, I might try them out some day 😀

never tried any of these before, but the packaging really looks attractive to me. not your ordinary neutrogena.

the fragrance don’t remind me of floral at all. it’s in fact a little sharp and requires a bit of getting used to. but other than that, the product is pretty okay. duno why but i find that drugstore stuff are getting more and more exp lately?

Its a general price increase to fit with inflationatory movements I’m guessing. Things can’t all stay the same price forever 🙂 Only our pay doesn’t move LOL

Hmmm, if I am not wrong, the actual ingredients list actually has hyaluronic acid really really low. So I am really not sure if this is just a normal moisturizer, or it will really show the effect of hyaluronic acid.

I agree! The hyaluronic acid is listed after fragrance in the ingredients list. For you know, I might just be paying for the efficacy of water if I buy the essence.

Hi Paris, I’ve tried the sheet mask and loving it! in fact, I have 2 boxes in stock. 🙂 It does boost up moisture of my face especially after a tired day. I haven’t tried the others maybe will pick up the water gel as you suggest. 🙂

I have been using the neutrogen lotion and gel for about 3 months now. Last month I added the essense and today I bought the mousse.
Never used a mousse in my life but after seeing the effect of the lotion and gel, I am really to go the whole hog.
I am 36yrs and not one to have breakouts even when I was young. But being a single mother and working professional, my busy life have over the years dulled my face.
Since I have started using the lotion first and then the gel, my face have sparked back to life. My colleagues and friends are all asking what have I been eating or rubbing. I could also tell the clear difference. I just enjoy looking at my face. You know smooth, supple, like a baby. But remember I have always had a clear and soft skin. But this have improved it many times.
I am not sure if the essence have added any benefit in particular honestly, since I dont have any wrinkles. Physologically, I feel I hasnt. So I use it irreularly. I have tried the mousse this evening before coming to bed. I did not rub anything after that. So far my face have not started drying up under the air conditioning. I will watch till trow to see if there is anything unique about it.
But I know that I am hooked to this product.
    Just thought to share.
