Smashbox Cosmetics Spring 2010 Heartbreaker Collection – Quick Preview

March 20, 2010 Paris B 16 Comments

Think fun, flirty and girly.

Think of your first crush. Think of the flush you get thinking of your crush.

Smashbox Cosmetics channels these sexy flirty looks in their new Heartbreaker Collection for Spring 2010 available now at the Smashbox counter at Parkson Pavilion Kuala Lumpur.

Smashbox Cosmetics - Heartbreaker Spring 2010 Collection

I was invited to a preview of the collection yesterday and as my gut feeling told me the first time I saw this collection online, the Starlight Baked Fusion Soft Lights highlighter blush (RM116) is what caught my eye. I’m not into blushes for nothing 😛

The colour tends to be a little cool though if you use a lighter hand, you could make it work as a highlighter and a slight pop of colour. If you are fair, it can work as a blush. If you are darker, it can work as a highlighter and a touch of colour. Make Up Artist Robin Flanagan explained that the gold bits will help warm up the complexion.

There are 2 eyeshadow palettes (RM130) in the collection – Hot Date (greens and browns) and Kiss n Tell (pink and purple) pictured above. Both tend to be slightly sheer but workable. But then I’m comfortable working with sheer but pigmented colours.

2 new innovations by Smashbox are:-

  • The very first Smashbox fragrance in Heartbreaker (RM85) – a floral scent that International Make up Artist Robin Flanagan says smells like California. So Smashbox distilled California and marketed it to the world LOL…
  • The Pink Sugar roller gloss (RM79) – clear and shimmery and just a faint tint of pink on the lips. One of those fun things.

If you’d like to check out the new Heartbreaker collection, and perhaps learn to use some of the brighter colours like the hot pink shade in the Kiss n Tell eyeshadow palette, Smashbox’s International Make Up Artist for Asia Pacific Robin Flanagan is available at their counter for consultation and a workshop on March 20 and 21 2010 (Saturday and Sunday). You can purchase a voucher for RM120 and RM150 which is redeemable for products and I think you might just walk away with that Starlight blush 😉

I’ll be there later today – do say hi if you’re there 🙂

My sole Smashbox item is the Softlights blush. I have a stripey one that might be LE coz I don’t see it anymore. I’m told the Photo Finish Primer is a star and O Glow gel blush is really cute!

ooh! the boxes look really cute! I’ve wanted to try their Fusion Softlights but never know which shades to go for. This one looks nice but not quite ‘me’. Not feeling the roller gloss :-/
