My Beauty Diary Masks and my shopping experience at Sasa.com

March 30, 2010 Paris B 33 Comments

So there’s all this hype about My Beauty Diary sheet masks from Taiwan and I was curious. I was surfing Sasa.com where I saw there was a set on offer – Blooming Mini Set (US$16). I also saw that Sasa.com now takes paypal on top of the regular credit cards. Armed with a free shipping code (woohoo!) I ordered a set to test out Sasa’s online service and to get something new to try.

Here’s the set I got. It contains:-

  • 4 pieces of Red Vine Mask
  • 4 pieces of Mixed Berry Mask
  • 1 piece of Platinum NanoColloid Mask
  • 1 small tube of Skin79 Super+ BeBlesh Balm BB cream. I’m no fan of BB Cream but I’ll give this one a whirl.

Tell me quickly which item you want me to try and review first? Masks are easy things to review because its use and throw and if it doesn’t work the first time, it won’t work any other time LOL…

Now how was shopping on Sasa.com? This was my first time and my experience is as below.

My experience shopping at Sasa.com

It was quite a pain free exercise shopping on Sasa.com. You do have to check your prices of products. Not everything on the site is cheaper compared to here in Malaysia and free shipping is only offered for purchases of US$75 and upwards.

I find the selection at Sasa.com better than StrawberryNET.com but it does not offer the same loyalty discounts that StrawberryNET.com does. Sasa.com does have some VIP programme where you first have to spend a lot of money before you qualify.

It took about 2 weeks for me to receive my package from the time payment was made. I paid by paypal so I was surprised it took so long. I was notified by email that my package was despatched but when I checked its tracking number, I realized that it was only posted out from Hong Kong about 3 days later. Was not very pleased about that. Package left Hong Kong March 24 and got to me on March 29 by registered post so that was fine.

Packaging is good. Products are bubble wrapped and placed in a boxful of styrofoam peanuts. Very safe and secure.

While I can get free shipping, I might shop on Sasa.com for some products like the Softymo Speedy Cleansing Oil that I like, or perhaps sheet masks. But I don’t see myself using it as a primary point of shopping especially once I have to pay for shipping.

If you use Paypal to pay for your Sasa purchases, try using this code for free shipping : paypalapac2009. I don’t know how long it’ll be available for (I placed my order in March 2010 and it worked then) so you gotta try your luck.

Update: Under your shopping basket, input the code under “Promotion Code” at the total payable and then click “Update Basket”. It should show you a revised shipping cost of $0.00 and a total less shipping costs. A test order as of today still works. The code is only applicable for those paying using Paypal.

FURTHER UPDATE: As of 1 April 2010 the free shipping code no longer works. I guess those who got in early got lucky! 😉

Have you shopped at Sasa.com before this? So, which My Beauty Diary mask do you want me to try first? 😀

Paris B

Note: My Beauty Diary masks are available at Guardian pharmacies. I bought mine online because I can 😛

Its supposed to be an anti oxidant to help with wrinkles and hydration. Let’s see how well this works 😉

The BB cream! And can you please post a picture of a dollop of it on your hand as well? Mine is too light for me, and I have been searching for a new one ever since.

Afraid I’m not a fan of BB creams so I likely won’t buy the BioEssence one myself.

I like that sasa has some great deals, but shipping is a bit pricy to where I live, and their occasional free shipping codes don’t work for me LOL

BB cream first 🙂 Thanks for the code too! I love MBD masks and did a “seven day package” review before. I especially like the Red Wine and White Bulgarian Rose. I still use them today and usually purchase from Guardian because it’s easier. Sasa online is not always cheaper but is a good option because the local Sasa stores do not carry as many brands.

I bought a 10 pack My Beauty Diary Mask in Apple at a Guardian sale for RM39. Caved at the RM10 discount and am now kicking myself for not buying more. The stuff really works.

Mixed berry please. I am eyeing that next.

Strange that the code did not work for me, showed up as ‘invalid’ , is this code available for anywhere in the world?

I believe the code has now expired. My test order shows as invalid too.
