I Nuovi FaceFix UV powder foundation SPF20

March 10, 2010 Paris B 16 Comments

I live a life of drama as befits a diva 😛 I spent the whole morning fiddling with my computer that refused to come on, having to call off lunch at the last minute (and feeling darned bad because I made her come into KL for me!) and finally, taking the PC off to PC hospital where it was diagnosed as having a faulty power supply. RM40 and a new power pack later, I’m back! 😀 Yes I live a life of drama as my tweets will tell you LOL…

Anyway, a little birdie tells me I Nuovi is having a warehouse sale this week – deets on Facebook. There are a whole bunch of stuff you can pick up from I Nuovi actually – false eyelashes, lipstick, eyeshadow, blush… I’ve got the low down below; but first let me tell you about their FaceFix UV powder foundation.

I’ve had it so long and used it so much that I’ve forgotten to tell you about how wonderful it is. If you look at my most recent picture below, you’d notice a sliver of pan showing. Yes dearies. I’ve hit pan just in time to replenish at the sale! 😀

The I Nuovi powder is lovely and smooth textured. Its fine and smooth to the touch and goes on my skin with a velvety softness. I don’t have very oily skin so it does not settle into my skin and leaves my skin looking and feeling velvety all day. It ranks up there with my Shu Uemura Face Architect powder foundation. I use them interchangeably and I always get complimented with both powders. Keepers? Yes indeedy!

The product comes in a round pan and the case is sold separately. If you already own a round powder case from another brand, you might be able to re use it.

Because there are 2 layers to the compact, its a little thick. The sponge applicator goes on the bottom and there is a large useful mirror inside. All in all, nothing much to complain about.

Except the price. Actually I’m not even complaining about the price, but I know some of you will so I’ll complain a little for you 🙂 The powder pan retails for RM98 and the compact case is RM32. Your first purchase will therefore set you back RM130. The texture of the powder is also a little sheer but can be layered. I like sheer so I’m happy.

I’ll pay for a repurchase and I planned to repurchase until news of the sale hit. I’m not sure if I’ll find this one at the sale and if I don’t, its off to the store I go! I take the colour in 2Y – the lightest shade. Its light, neutral and suits my skin to a T. Honestly, I have absolutely no complaints about this one at all.

Pros: Light and smooth textured, Perfect colour match, Keeps my skin looking velvety smooth all day, sheer-medium coverage

Cons: Compact and case sold separately can raise prices of initial purchase, sheer for those who don’t like that

What’s good from I Nuovi Cosmetics?

If powder foundation isn’t your thing, here are a whole bunch of other things I like from I Nuovi. I’ll grant that not everything from the brand is love but there are also many things to like from this brand 🙂

  • Splash Away Makeup Cleansing Oil
  • Megalips Velvetshine dual ended liquid lipstick/gloss
  • Undercover Concealer
  • Ivoluxe Lipstick (Lush and Passion)
  • Gelbase liquid foundation
  • Eyeshadow and blush singles
  • False eyelashes

If you go to the sale, do share what you got! If you purchased the FaceFix UV powder foundation or have used this one before, do share. Tell me if you like it as much as I do 🙂

whee! can’t wait for the sale tomorrow! I’m not much of a compact powder user so I was thinking to get the Studiocake which got a really good review from Nikki. She has dry skin like I do so I’m hoping it’ll work well for me too

aww lucky ladies! I’d hire a personal agent to shop for me, if I could LOL
I’d be definitely oohing and aahing, wondering what to grab and in the end, I’d be left empty handed, as others would take everything HAHHA

Good luck girls, and buy a lot! <3

Hi All, I was there today. Picked up some goodies but not the foundation powder (Didnt know it was so good, should have read your review first). They had some nice D27 eyeshadows (about 15-20 colours?), eyeliners (normal pencil type), blushes and lippies. Was indeed a small sale.
