MWS Cafe Open Day – Come Chat with Me!

January 27, 2010 Paris B

Hiya lovelies!

I’m having a slow day so I decided to open up a virtual cafe and share some coffee and some good chit chat on a bit of ladies day out 😀 Lets get to know each other a little better!

If you have a burning question about anything at all, or if you are having a slow day too and just want to say hi, feel free to drop in, pull up a chair, grab a coffee and chat with me for a while about anything under the sun… well almost anything 🙂

I like addressing random topics so do visit and leave a comment and who knows, if I can’t answer you, some one out there probably can 🙂

Paris B

p/s Remember to keep it clean and don’t touch on anything relating to politics or religion or anything sensitive; but then you are all adult enough to know that right? 🙂

p/p/s Incidentally, I’m having a REALLY bad hair day – urgh! Its sticking out everywhere! I wonder if it’ll be odd to wear a hat in the office? 🙂

Morning! I’m trying my hands at pressing pigments. LOL! Just done putting the mixture into a pan. now waiting for it to dry before I start pressing 🙂

    • ParisB says

      January 27, 2010 at 10:07 am

You brave soul! I never tried it coz I like the texture of loose pigments – incidentally, I’m wearing Naked and Deckchair today! 😀 Inspired by your blue liner tutorial except I went with violet

        January 27, 2010 at 10:28 am

        I demand pictahs! :p
I actually don’t mind the loose pigments but since I have jars of them… try la. haha. and I can tote it around in a compact!

PB, you NEED to watch Avatar. And I enjoyed Sherlock Holmes as well!
    Go go go watch! 😀
Btw, what are you doing for CNY? Going to be in town?

    • ParisB says

      January 27, 2010 at 10:08 am

But but but… GSC wants to charge me extra for watching it in 3D and won’t give me a non-3D option 🙁 I might go for Sherlock Holmes instead 😀 I’ll be back home for CNY with my parents. Yourself? Its Grace’s first!

        • ParisB says

I managed to get non 3D Avatar at GSC 😀 Don’t like TGV – not as convenient for me 😛

            January 27, 2010 at 1:31 pm

I watched it in 3D version… didn’t exactly wow me because certain parts of the movie was just like watching 2D so I ended up wondering whether I might’ve enjoyed it more in 2D…

For the sake of not getting shot down by Avatar lovers, I shall not post my views of the movie here. 😛

              January 27, 2010 at 1:32 pm

LOL if its mostly CGI I think I might share your thoughts 😛 Anyway I’m only watching it coz my Dad said Dr. M made reference to it so he wants to be in the loop too! 😀

    January 27, 2010 at 10:07 am

Okay so here I am, discussing with Geek on getting a new phone. I’m on 3’s $29 prepaid, and have been on it for over a year now, and so I figured, why not go on a $29 cap contract AND get a free phone out of it as well? I’m looking to change to Vodafone, ‘cos they have the HTC Magic in white, which is GORGEOUS. I’ve just got to try out the Android, y’know?

Anyways, will head back to 3 and Vodafone tomorrow to have a discussion with them. Here’s hoping I come out with a new phone 😉

    • ParisB says

      January 27, 2010 at 10:10 am

Absolutely no idea how those plans work but the HTC looks amazing! More so in white! Never tried it though I was thinking of getting a Blackberry with just data. I’d be one of those corporate androids with 2 phones! 😛

      • Tine says

        January 27, 2010 at 10:15 am

I was thinking of the crackberry, but data plans here are expensive 🙁 I reckon the HTC + the plan I’m looking at would be good enough for the occasional surfing, and more importantly, Twitter 😛

        PS: Plus it’s purdy 😛

PPS: It’s double the price here too to watch Avatar. I reckon I’d spew if I watched it in 3D, what with the quick action scenes. Oh, and watch Sherlock Holmes! That Robert Downey Jr is one sweet HAWT man 😉

        • ParisB says

          January 27, 2010 at 10:20 am

Yes its really pretty I gotta admit. And guess what? I managed to book Avatar (non 3D) for half the price it would cost to watch the 3D version! Yay! Sherlock Holmes is next!

        • geekchic says

          January 27, 2010 at 12:44 pm

And also the reason why I wanted the Droid, someone stroked my ego into making me think I’m good enough to develop apps for the platform so I’m dying to try it out. can’t test it without a Droid phone, right? 😛

          • ParisB says

            January 27, 2010 at 12:53 pm

That’s a good reason as any to get the Android phone! Besides which if you DO develop apps for it, maybe you could charge lots of money for people to download them? More funds for that one bag? 😉

  9. Hanny says

    January 27, 2010 at 10:13 am

Ah, on the Avatar side, I’m sooooo sad that my all time favorite LOTR: Return of the King got tanked. It was the what… 3rd best grossing in all time? Now its like the 4th aiks. Speaking of LOTR, I was inspired to do a smokey green/brown eyeshadow look in honor of Mirkwood, AKA where Legolas came from, well to commemorate how I grew out of Orlando Bloom. (Heck, I was like 10 when the first LOTR movie came out, haha), so yeah. Too geeky for you? Sorry!

    • ParisB says

      January 27, 2010 at 10:18 am

LOL not too geeky at all! I loved LOTR but sorry, absolutely hated Return of the King 😛 Too draggy. Liked Two Towers though for the action 🙂 I reckon your look will be pretty.

      • Hanny says

        January 27, 2010 at 10:21 am

HA! Two Towers had the most Legolas action, I was all swooning all over the place!! Anyways I agree with Tine, Robert Downey Jr is smokin’!! (I wanna watch Sherlock Holmes, but my disgustingly dismal A Level results is making me stay at home and study… wuwu…)

        • ParisB says

          January 27, 2010 at 10:26 am

Aww… well you can always get Sherlock Holmes on DVD after the exams 😉

speaking of movies, Sherlock Holmes is good. i wanted to watch Tiger Woohoo since 2 weeks ago but things just get into the way. plus i’m most as motivated as before when it comes to studies. this is my final semester and will work in a bank for 4 years after graduation; and i’m already worrying that i can’t cope. ahakz. anyway, have a nice day, ParisB 😀

Avatar must watch! though i really wouldnt want to watch in 3d, the headache it gives! And sherlock holmes! Yummy Robert Downey Jr!

    • ParisB says

      January 27, 2010 at 12:51 pm

Eeps! Getting scolded for something that isn’t your fault is no fun at all! Thanks for the tip off about the 3D headaches. I’d read about that too so I’m avoiding that – plus it costs so much more 😛

      • plue says

        January 27, 2010 at 12:53 pm

lately have been getting alot of that >_< so i hope after CNY no more, altho ppl say this year tiger kids "fan tai sui" =_= die not?

          January 27, 2010 at 12:55 pm

Ooh yeah I heard of that too. That nasty Tai Sui – maybe appease him with lots of sweets and goodies? 🙂 It was going to cost me RM13 (ticket) + RM0.50 (online booking) + RM5 (surcharge dunno for what) Crazy. But I managed to get non 3D and Dad was pleased 😀

          • plue says

            January 27, 2010 at 1:04 pm

i need to find way to get rid of tai sui. got ideas? I worry tai sui is not like a kid, dowan sweets and goodies but want a bit more… erm, you know, moneh! haha!

              January 27, 2010 at 1:12 pm

I didn’t get that silly surcharge. Maybe its to cover the 3d glasses? Either way I refused to pay 😛 As for the tai sui I know some places hold special prayers to divert the tai sui’s attention. Kinda like averting the eye of sauron LOL
