Spread some Christmas Love with My Women Stuff!

December 8, 2009 Paris B

Christmas is a time not only for receiving although we all know how nice it is to receive 🙂 It is also the time for giving. And I’m holding over my last installment of Best of 2009 series till tomorrow for this.

I know many are looking forward to a year end giveaway but I’m not running a giveaway for various personal reasons. So, instead to end 2009 with a bang, I’ll let YOU play Santa!

I’ll give 1 reader the chance to send someone something nice this year end through me! You’ll tell me who you want the hamper above to go to and I’ll send it on your behalf. How about that? 🙂

Here’s how we are going to do this, but recipients should have a mailing address in Malaysia due to logistics.

How to enter

You have to leave a comment below telling me:-

  1. Who do you want me to send the gift hamper to.
  2. Why did you pick this person.

You may enter from anywhere in the world, but your recipient must have a mailing address in Malaysia as parcels tend to go walkabout in the year end mail crush and I don’t want the additional hassle. Besides, this baby is heavy! 😀

The winner will be picked by a neutral third party and I will contact you for mailing details after everything is over.

Are you curious what your giftee will receive? Well, the mystery will only be solved at the winner announcement but take your best guess from what you can see in the picture above – there’s quite a mix of stuff in there 🙂

Remember – what goes around comes around so spread the word to your friends (Twitter and Facebook is always a good place to start!) and perhaps you might just find yourself at the receiving end! 🙂

Deadline is 12 noon 11 December 2009 (GMT +8) and remember, this is the last of the giveaways happening on MWS for 2009 so don’t miss out!

Have fun playing Santa!

For my mom. Cos she’s living alone in Miri, and my sisters and I can’t go back and live with her due to job finding difficulties. She would love receiving a surprise parcel in the mail to brighten her days. =)

I would live it if my sis could get a little surprise in the mail.

She’s been working so hard lately, and staying back really late at work that I’ve seen her less than twice this week, and that’s with me at home everyday! Even though her bonus was 100% her sweat and tears, she gave me a “bonus” as well (she gives me my allowance).

At times when she’s really broke (like when her car needs an overhaul) she wouldn’t let me help at all, and though I try my best to make her time at home more comfy, I can’t afford to really pamper her and with most of my time spent commuting and studying/doing assignments, I hardly have the time to DIY stuff for her as I used to.

    2. She is actually the only girl friend I have in class! I’m in engineering course so most of the classmates are boys..I would definitely love to give her some beauty products, so we can both stay pretty all the time! Lol

My special special friend Jia Ying who just moved from KL to Penang, gave birth and stop working to become a full time mom. Words cannot describe how much I owe her and how much she meant to me as a friend.

My sister in M’sia. We spend most of our time living apart (I’m in Australia) yet she has been supporting me throughout these yrs. I always feel she’s not far away. She’s the greatest!

For my mom because she has given so much to me and always tries to give me the things that I want. She has been working so hard day and night looking after me and my siblings and now that we are not staying at home anymore (because of work and studies), it would be nice to give her something this christmas since it’s also her most favorite holiday of the year =)

A colleague who is my friend & sister & boyfriend(thou I’m not les)

    2. Why did you pick this person
Simply because my life is full of rainbow colours ever since I know her ! She is simply a great friend , cheer me up and make me sad at same time. I want to give this gift hamper to her(if possible) to record my gratitude for the past 1 year I know her. Life has never been better, time is never a measurement between our friendship 😀 My bf is so jealous & claimed that she is my boyfriend too ! Would love to have a surprise reward for herself this coming Christmas 🙂

To my sister in law who is a widow. Her hubby passed away when she was 40. She brought up her only son and spent all her savings on his education. Never spend a penny on taking care of herself, never bought a liptstick , face powder or moisturizer in her life. It would be a great christmas for her if she has a surprise gift of something nice and she needs a bit of pampering and cheer in this festive season.

I would like to send this to my younger sis. this is because since young we din get along that well, we fight, bite each other, pull each other hair, there is even once when i was taking her on a ride on the bycicle, her foot got squeeze into the tyres n she needed stitches… but since i came to college far from home, ironically me n her got along better, she always tries to be something opposite than me so that the eldest won’t compare, but lately whatever decision she makes she will ask me for opinions, it really makes me feel like i’m her elder sis more now… so i hope this gift will let her know how great she is being an truly original individual herself…

I would love you to help me send it to Elfie, my daughter. She is all alone as I am living here in Europe. She is very sad and so am I. We have not seen each other for sometimes.

Thank you very much. It will cheer her up during this festive season.

    I love playing Santa(rina)!!
    Ok..here goes:
    1. To my sister
    2. Well, because I’ve always been mean to her (sibling jealousy!) and most importantly, she sustained a hairline fracture at the base of the skull because of me. And it is something I believe that turned my life around to start appreciating my sister more.

I would love the surprise gift to go to my dearest mum. Simply because she needs some pampering. I can’t remember the last time she actually bought a makeup item or counter skincare for herself. For all that she had done for me and my brother and is STILL doing, she deserves this. Plus, I have been away from home for more than 10 years, since I started studying in University and then moved on to working life. Though I make it a point to go home as often as possible, I still miss out on mum-daughter-beauty-shopping-bonding time. This pressie will of course not be able to make up for all time lost, but will definitely bring her a warm feeling that some hundreds of kilometers away, her little girl (that’s me by the way :p) always have mummy dearest close to her heart!

Definitely Jacqueline, a fellow blogger would be my chosen one! She gave me lots of MAC, RMK and Maquillage stuffs, and I can’t find any really good things that I’d gladly give her in return. You know, something I’m sure she would like. I lack imagination @_@ What should I do? It’s almost Xmas and her birthday is here too! I need some awesome present! X_X
But these above look nice! mmm Whoever gets it will be super happy! ^.^

My mother. In one word, everything 🙂 She was the one who taught me about make-up and how important appearance is for a young lady. She was the one who raised me to be a wonderful young lady that I am today. She was the one gave me the advises, encouragement and support that I need. She is also the backbone of my family, the peacemaker. It’s how she lives life to the fullest every day, being my role model, a strong and independent woman 🙂

I would like this gift to go to my mother. I picked her because she has had a very, very difficult year as she has ‘Auto-Immune Disease’ and had a bad relapse several months ago. She was prescribed a high dose of steroids to keep her condition under control, however, this caused her weight to baloon. She was so depressed because her face puffed up and she became so shy to even go out as she did not want people to see her round face. Despite my mum’s age (in her early 60’s), she always looks young because she really takes care of herself….it is from her that I got my passion for make-up and I really look up to her. I think she is deserving of a special surprise!

For my mom in Ipoh, she is the kindest person and sometimes she can sense when i’m in trouble or when i’m down.

Now i’m away (because of work in KL and married already) my time with her is getting lesser and lesser from before but she is still the first person i called and turn too whenever i want to let her know about mt daily life etc (and she never bored about me telling her the same story :))

She sacrifices a lot and it would be nice to suprise her with this unexpected gift

An “I’ll be out all day and need my makeup to An “I’ll be out all day and need my makeup to stay on” look 😅 Super simple and using stuff I already own. How many do you recognise? 😅

For the base I think the key is the Nars setting powder which is basically a silica powder. Many brands have similar white powder for setting. I did this same look yesterday and it barely budged/faded by evening. Only lipstick needed a little topping up 😊

And this is about all the makeup I can handle these days 😂 no eye makeup cos I can’t be arsed 🤪

Excellent good fun! 😆 Your eyes always want more than your stomach can handle. Ate a lot and bought even more food back home. Diet? What diet? 😂

Posting for posterity because I like this photo 😆 Also hello! 😜

It’s interesting that when I meet people they always ask me “Are you still blogging?” which tells me they don’t read my blog anymore (cos if they did they’d know I am lol! Weekly generally, but still writing) Yet I don’t blame them because a lot of social credit is placed on one’s Instagram presence. This I fear, is an area I am lacking. I pop in every now and then, share stories that are totally unrelated to what people follow me for, then wonder why they unfollow lol! Other times, spider webs gather in the corners of my unused account. I don’t blame them. Not everyone wants to know what my dogs are up to 😜

Anyway I make no apologies. It’s ok if you follow. It’s ok if you don’t. It’s ok if you’re interested in stuff I do. It’s ok if you’re not. Life goes on for both you and I and ultimately, we just both want it to be happy. So do what makes you happy 😊 I’ll still share my beauty finds and I still blog once a week. I may share what I’m up to from time to time, or I may not. I can tell you that I’m keeping busy and that I have a lot on my plate, none of it glamorous unlike that of most content creators/influencers. It’s too boring for most for me to share here so I’ll just share the good bits - as Instagram intended 😂

But if you want to find me, you’ll know how 😊

The review for the product is somewhere on the blog mywomenstuff.com
Yes I know many of you are terrified of lizards 🦎🫣

But I liked this sunscreen - for the body. Even though it left a white cast. Even though it is hard to remove. It kept my arms protected through a weekend of brutal sun exposure and I survived without burning! ✌🏻
