MWS Christmas Gift Guide & Best of 2009 : Build on a good foundation

December 9, 2009 Paris B 10 Comments

best_face

Here’s the last of my “Best of 2009” series. You can read the others here.

You may not have perfect skin – few of us do and those who do are the lucky few! So, we fake it with concealer and foundation! There aren’t many I discovered in 2009 but those that worked, worked!

I finally found 2 liquid foundation that worked well for me. I never thought I’d ever extol the virtues of liquid foundation but now I will! The 2 I discovered in 2009 and are keeping as staples are the Lancome Maquiliquide UV Infinite and Diorskin Nude natural glow hydrating foundation. Beautiful textures and keeps skin looking beautiful too!

In the powder foundation category, I’m loving my Paul & Joe Dual powder foundation (I just hit pan! :O) and the Diorskin loose powder foundation. I’m also really liking the I Nuovi powder foundation which got me quite a few compliments!

The other secret to faking flawless skin is concealer and my picks of 2009 are the Lancome Effercernes concealer, I Nuovi UnderCover and the Revlon Spa concealer! Yes the latter works very well too for a budget pick!

For loose powder, I’m swearing by the Lavshuca Translucent loose powder which is da bomb! I know there aren’t many budget picks in this category but I’m a little fussier about my foundations and loose powders so I do tend to go high end. I do still like my Revlon Age Defying 2-way foundation but that slipped in last year so I did not include it 🙂

Over to you! Tell us your fave face products for 2009!

Stay beautiful,

Paris B

I’m fussy about loose powders! I think there are still good drugstore foundations but I’m yet to come across a drugstore loose powder that meets my “standards”. :p

      Hi Germaine

Yes the Revlon Spa Concealer works well for its price. I meant to review it and forgot 😛 I’ll probably rectify that in the coming weeks.

Lavshuca Loose Powder!? Haahaaa, will add this to my list for my sister to bring back in 2 months time from Taipei.I forgot you reviewed about this some time back!
I am loving Lumiere Sand silk Loose powder at the moment, and natural liquid foundation from Living Nature.

Lucky you….I haven’t found the right foundation 😛

Based on your review, last week I went to Dior counter asking for Diorskin Nude powder…and guess what??!

….it’s not available in Jakarta….at least not yet 🙁

This year i’m really smitten with both the The Face Shop The Skin Extra BB Cream and the MAC Studio Sculpt Foundation! 😀

I’m still bummed that they discontinued the Loreal Translucide loose powder… it’s the BOMB for me!! 🙁

Chamos Acaci Perfect BB cream works well for my face, it looks much natural and moisture compared to SKin79. So happy and confident when my friends said i have good complexion. I’m Lovin It!
