Early this week we were introduced to organic makeup in the form of Madara โ a certified organic brand from Latvia. I had something else lined up today but I thought Iโd tell you about the Madara EcoFace Organic Skincare before you go off to claim your samples this weekend ๐ The products I was sent were the Madara Ecoface Deep Purifying Foam Cleaner and Deep Comfort Toner โ the first 2 steps in any skincare regime.
Madara Deep Purifying Foam Cleanser โ RM98/150ml
Now Iโm a sucker for foaming cleansers โ I love the convenience because you donโt have to do the lathering up, its already done for you with a pump of the bottle. The Madara Deep Purifying Foaming Cleanser does not disappoint in this regard.
The Madara cleanser has a light flower scent which is not disturbing, and cleans the skin a treat. I use it both in the morning and evening and after about 2 weeks, Iโm still liking it. Iโm also happy to report that Iโve not encountered allergies to this one. Previously I had problems with other organic brands where I developed contact dermatitis after being allergic to some of the ingredients. No problems with this one! ๐
It might seem pricey off hand but I only use 1 pump each time. From experience with similar foaming cleansers of other brands, I can expect to get 3-4 months of use from this one.
Pros: Cleans skin well, Feels gentle, Lovely soft foam
Cons: Some might consider it pricey
Ingredient list: Ingredients: Aqua, Rosa Damascena (Rose) Distillate*, Sodium Cocoamphoacetate, Alcohol, Glycerin*, Surcose Cocoate, Achillea Millefolium (Yarrow) Extract*, Hypericum Perforatum (St. Johnโs Wort) Extract*, Calendula Officinalis (Calendula) Extract*, Chamomilla Recutita (Camomile) Extract*
Madara Deep Comfort Toner โ RM88/200ml
Step 2 of your skincare regime is the toner. Madara organic skincare has 3 different toners to suit your skintype. Mine is the Madara Deep Comfort Toner for dry to very dry skins.
I use a cotton pad to wipe the Deep Comfort toner over my skin and for some reason, my skin feels cleaner but yet not dry. Its not quite moisturizing but it doesnโt leave me feeling like a husk so its quite nice really. Iโve been using this for slightly over 2 weeks and have barely made a dent in it โ strange but true.
Pros: Skin feels clean but not dry
Cons: Some might consider it pricey, Not moisturizing
Ingredients: Aqua, Rosa Damascena (Rose) Distillate*, Anthemis Nobilis (Camomile) Flower Water*, Glycerin*
Madara is available at all Bodybar outlets and online. To be honest Iโve been quite impressed with the Madara Organic line. The packaging looks good and the product seems to work well enough for me (without causing undue allergic reactions or breaking me out).
If I were thinking of switching over to Organic skincare, Iโd be sure to place Madara Ecoface in my skincare list. But remember, just because its organic and natural doesnโt mean that it will work wonderfully for everyone. Weโre still different ๐
I like these 2 products from Madara but I could easily live without them as I consider cleanser and toner โdisposableโ. The one I do really like is the Regenerating Night Cream which I will feature next week. ๐
So if you are going to check out this line, do drop a line to let us know what you think of it eh? ๐
Stay beautiful,

Hi prettybeautiful
I do tend to agree. I do find it hard to pay so much for cleanser and toner too LOL

Good for you~~ Iโm worried of switching brands as I have experienced horrible breakouts beforeโฆ Iโm sticking to my Clinique anti-blemish rangeโฆ I like the packaging =)

Hi Yuki
Truly if a brand or product works for you, best stick with it ๐

Hi there, just my 2 cents on organic skin care vs conventional. Like Madara for example, you cannot compare to conventional products as organic skin care products do not contain any fillers like mineral oils, preservatives etc (which are all bad for you) which means that you are actually paying for the product you intended and not cheap fillers to fill up the bottle.
If you have used natural skin care for a while you will know that you require much less product since it is pure concentrated goodness. Just go and read on your Clinique bottle, how many of the ingredients do you actually know what they are? Most of the ingredients are laborotory manufactured synthetic ingredients. I used to use Estee Lauder and Lancome, thinking that expensive products equaled safe effective products, but I learnt the hard way that you are only paying for their marketing campaigns, and not the product. Think about it, if many of these commercial companies boast that their product contains fruit extracts, rose oils etc, isnโt it better to go with companies who actually stay true to their word and add more than 0.002% of these natural ingredients?
I think it is important to know whatโs going onto your skin, since breastfeeding womenโs milk in the UK were tested and no less than 60 (on average) chemicals were found in it (many having their origin in your moisturiser or body lotion). These companies are not concerned about our health, but only profits. But like I said, this is only my 2 cents
