Desigual – Atypical Spanish Fashion not for the faint hearted

November 8, 2009 Paris B 32 Comments

I picked up a new knit cardigan recently from Spanish label Desigual. Its thick, warm and a bright red – something I just know is going to work well on my upcoming holiday. In the atypical style of Desigual, the cardigan is cut like a bolero/shrug in front, but long at the back which is a little unexpected. Love it! 😀 I have a pic below  🙂

It was also one of the most sedate looking pieces of clothing found at the Desigual store – haha! Just take a look at some of the shots I took of the clothes available at the store and you’d understand what I mean.

I did say they aren’t for the faint-hearted 🙂 They are clothes for the men and women who do not mind being being ogled but although some of the dresses were quite interesting, they were made for those who are more well endowed unfortunately. Otherwise they don’t fall very well.

If you like unique looking clothes then Desigual is an interesting store to visit – I was at the store inside Parkson Pavilion Kuala Lumpur – but personally its not quite my style. Still, I saw some girls carry off the very unique dresses very well and you can be quite sure you will not meet someone else wearing the same thing.

So here’s how the cardi looked on me when I decided to get it – I think it went with the whole outfit don’t you? 🙂

Tunic dress: Paperdoll boutique, Tights: Marks & Spencer, Cardigan: Desigual Autumn/Winter 09, Bag: Cassis Alma

Items are rather pricey, rather in the range of Zara and up. So, have you heard of this brand before this? I hadn’t 😛

Stay beautiful,

Paris B

      Hi electronicfly

Haha… Yes I found it a little pricey but I guess its one of those things, if you find a statement item there it could carry you quite far.

I bought a skirt and a tee from Desigual in Sg a few years back. I love the store! Their stuff is so creative and inspiring! It’s pretty affordable when they go on sale 🙂
That cardi looks great on you–good find!

I like Desigual. I used to get their skirts because their arty designs really appealed to me. But their designs this season are too loud and jarring and I haven’t found a piece I like. Hope they’ll bring in better designs soon.

      Hiya Sesame

The Fall/Winter 09 stuff were a bit strange. I’ll probably check them out for Spring/Summer 😀

Wow…I think the prints and designs are very bold and “loud”. I would love them especially the bags.

Have you checked them out? The bags aren’t quite my style but I can imagine any number of people who can rock it way better than I can !

i like the orange cardigan though i never fathom the idea why there are autumn/winter clothes here in the tropical malaysia and people really do wear them! 🙂

i don’t mind getting it to wear it in sydney though.

btw, your black dress is very cute. and i like your short hair better. it makes you very young. i think i might need to consider that. though my husband did warn me before, “you know i didn’t marry a man!”

    hmm… should i?

      Hi Jojoba

I got it to wear on holiday and I would wear a warm cardigan if I were working in a cold office. Some offices can get like the tundra. Its the same reason working people have to wear blazers – it gets too cold at the office!

      Hi Karina

Yes its very hot but not if you hop from one air conditioned place to another – I wear light tights – it gives the appearance of thick tights but in fact feels just like pantyhose on 🙂

But it still looks very weird for people in tropical countries to dress up in winter fashion.

    Love you blog btw! Muaks!
