When I hear “Paris” I think of the girl on the other side of the world from me who indulged me by calling up Chanel, LV and Hermes in KL one busy afternoon.

I’m reminded of the idealised Paris that the characters inside the breathtaking book Revolutionary Road (recently a movie starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet!) are searching for, to no avail. Since I have the book I’ll type an excerpt here —

“He had admired the ancient delicacy of the buildings and the way the street lamps made soft explosions of light green in the trees at night, and the way each long, bright café awning would prove to reveal a sea of intelligently talking faces as he passed; but the white wine gave him a headache and the talking faces all seemed, on closer inspection, to belong either to intimidating men with beards or to women whose eyes could sum him up and dismiss him in less than a second. The place had filled him with a sense of wisdom hovering just out of reach, of unspeakable grace prepared and waiting just around the corner, but he’d walked himself weak down its endless blue streets and all the people who knew how to live had kept their tantalizing secret to themselves.”

Whenever I see the word Paris, it reminds me of Paris Eiffel Tower with ParisB driniking at the cafe while jotting down some reviews on cosmetics she just saw during her shopping.

When I think of Paris, I dream of one vacation which I would like to take with a loved one. The glittering lights of the Eiffel Tower, the smell of romance in the air. All the Parisian women looking chic in their outfits and the outdoor cafes with the aroma of freshly brewed coffee. Paris, my dream holiday.

Elegant pearls strung on a necklace, black floor-sweeping dresses, satin gloves that come up till our elbows. Colourful macaroons on white china pastry dishes, the smell of freshly baked baguettes wafting from bakeries at 5am. Bright lights, hands entertwined during secret walks along shadowy alleys, whispered giggles and coy glances. Poets at a sidewalk cafe making notes in worn-out Moleskine notebooks.

Paris is of love found, love lost, love uncovered, love left behind 🙂

Okay here I go third try!~

I am a hopeless romantic so when I see the word “Paris”, the images of watching the sunsets, carefree love and strolling along the walkways with my boyfriend. *blushes*

Other than that, images of typical Parisian food also comes to mind. Such as escargot and baguette and WINE!~

A skinny tall man with thin moustache wearing a black and white long sleeves shirt, a red scarf, a black beret and leotard pants, and of course, holding a baguette! Don’t ask me why.
