Review: I Nuovi Cleanse Splash Away Makeup Cleansing Oil

September 14, 2009 Paris B 14 Comments

When I tried the new Bobbi Brown Cleansing Oil, I was struck by how similar it was to the I Nuovi Cleanse Splash Away Makeup Cleansing Oil (a mouthful which I’ll call I Nuovi Cleansing Oil from now on). I also realised that although my bottle is nearly finished, I’d never mentioned it prior to this! How remiss 😛

inuovi cleansing oil

No better time than the present! 😀 If I’m not using the Neutrogena Deep Clean Cleansing Lotion, I’m using this I Nuovi Cleansing Oil. I like the slightly thin runny texture. If you are used to the cleansing oils of Shu Uemura you may find this a little too liquid. However, it has the same texture as that of Bobbi Brown.

Liquid or not, I find it works a treat for me. You must note that all cleansing oils must be used on a DRY face with DRY hands for it to work properly. I’ve previously given my tips on how to properly use cleansing oils for most effective results.

The texture of the I Nuovi cleansing oil is light yet it works well to remove all traces of makeup and leaves skin smooth and clean. The scent is pleasant – geranium if I’m not mistaken – and most importantly, it does not cause my skin to break out. My skin is clean after use although I do double cleanse out of habit. I find the scent rather similar to the one from Bobbi Brown too.

Another thing I like is when any oil gets into my eyes, it does not smart but it does not leave my vision cloudy for too long. With thicker oils e.g Shu Uemura, I find that my vision remains cloudy for a while which bugs me to no end. I have to rinse my eyes repeatedly to clear it. With this I Nuovi one, I have less of a problem.

I do have one request for the people at I Nuovi Cosmetics, if they read this. Please… please for the love of all that’s good, PLEASE repackage the cleansing oil! 😛

inuovi-cleansing oil cap

Currently, its in a flip top cap that causes the oil to flow everywhere. I keep my bottle in my bathroom but if I kept it on my dresser it would be a pool of oil by now. The most effective way to dispense cleansing oil from my experience is the pump bottle. A pump dispenser makes it easy to add more oil when necessary and if it can lock, all the better!

A 150ml bottle of I Nuovi Cleansing Oil retails for RM72 which for me is reasonable. If you don’t have an I Nuovi store in your country, you can purchase it online for US$28. My first bottle is about finished and I’ve been using it nearly everyday for at least 3-4 months. I will repurchase this one once its gone but if there’s news of repackaging in the works, I’ll wait 😛

Pros: Light texture, Lovely scent, Removes makeup and keeps skin feeling soft

Cons: Packaging needs to be revamped

Has anyone tried this? Have you tried comparing it to the Bobbi Brown Cleansing Oil? The Bobbi Brown one isn’t bad to me, based on the sample I had, but I find it too similar to this I Nuovi one to justify buying it. 🙂

Stay beautiful,

Paris B

Hmmm, since you mentioned it went into your eyes, I presume that it doesn’t stings right? That would be good. Also as the price is almost the same, do you happen to know how iNuovi compares with Fancl Mild Cleansing Oil? It would be good to find something that is cheaper than Fancl, but cheaper.

      Hi Jyoan

No it does not sting which is another plus. I have not tried Fancl so I’m unable to compare, sorry. Some day if I do try that one I’ll do a comparison. 🙂

I’m using HABA Squa Cleansing which is pricing RM66 for just 60ml.
Glad to hear something that is cheap and good.

p/s: Paris, never read any of your review of HABA products.

      Hi CY

Yes this is one affordable cleaning oil that’s really good 🙂 I don’t have reviews on HABA because I’ve never tried anything from the brand. Perhaps some day if I do, I’ll be sure to write about it 🙂

Yay for the I Nuovi Cleansing Oil! Mine’s almost finishing too. Good thing we decided not to split a bottle in the end eh?

Hi ParisB, silent reader here.. I’m looking for a new cleansing oil/ lotion for my acne-prone combi skin. Where can I get this? Or should I try neutrogena first? Thanks for your informative reviews. 🙂

    Joyce,
Neutrogena cleansing oil caused outbreaks and pain on my acne-prone skin. I think it’s safer that u try I Nuovi one first. 😉

I remember when I first tried the #antipodesskinca I remember when I first tried the #antipodesskincare Aura Manuka Honey Mask. It blew my mind away! Soothes skin. Boosts hydration and just makes you feel like you have the best skin ever! Not kidding. If you have a spot or irritated skin, it calms it down and helps get rid of your spots too. Honey is anti bacterial after all, so it’s a great multitasker.
I also love the Manuka Honey Skin brightening Day Cream. It’s light but creamy and sinks into the skin. I’ve reviewed them both on the blog in the past. If you run a search for Antipodes, you’d also notice how much I love the brand! 😁
I’m super late with this but if you’re planning to purchase any of these 3 Manuka honey items from TNS Skinlab, the code MYWSTUFF10 will give you an extra 10% off (until tomorrow 31 Dec) I highly recommend grabbing the Aura mask. You’ll never want to be without (I always have a backup!)
Thanks for the gift @tnsskinlab and I must apologise for my tardiness 😩 I’ll learn to cope better from next week!
Now I have to scuttle and write my year end musings. Some traditions must be kept! 😜

It’s my first year doing retail and honestly, I’d never been so busy! The year-end rush is unreal! But busy is good, right? At least that’s what I tell myself 😂

Haven’t done any Christmas shopping this year. It has only just struck me that it’s but mere days away! 😨 Have you done yours?
