Saturday Thoughts : Charging home on a Lancer perhaps?

August 15, 2009 Paris B 10 Comments

saturday thoughts

This Saturday sees me on a mini road trip home for the weekend where I will savour the ice cold pear juice from the roadside stall – No more depending on the Kiehl’s Pear Tree Corner shower gel for my pear juice fix! I can’t wait!

I’ve taken a few new things to try over the weekend so you can expect some forthcoming thoughts on the Dior Diorskin Nude liquid foundation and loose powder, the Garnier Brightening Eye roll on (Goodness I’m jumping on the bandwagon a bit late!) and firming up some thoughts on the Benefit Powder Pop palette and travel worthiness and sun protection of the Vichy UV Activ sunscreen after a couple of hours on the road under our blazing sun.

Finally, here’s unveiling my newest “lemming” …

Its the Mitsubishi Lancer in Metallic Red! Its been a car I’ve been eyeing for more than 1 year now, since it first came in and I was told there was an 8 month wait period. Damn! That was like lining up to buy an Hermes Birkin (which incidentally costs over RM35,000 and has a 3 year wait period – I called up to check 😛 )

Mitsubishi lancer

Oh and a Chanel timeless 2.55 bag is now approaching 5 figures. There goes the dream. Might I do better getting a car instead? I’d definitely get more use out of it, that’s for sure! 😀 Especially crusing down the highways in those bucket nappa leather seats… mmm… 😀

Now, does anyone own this car or knows anyone who owns this car who would like to share their thoughts on maintenance costs, petrol efficiency etc?

Have a roaring good weekend!

Eh, seldom see girls who like this car! I hope it’ll be yours soon! 😀

Can’t wait to read your review on the Garnier roll on. I’ll be picking that one up in India since it’s really cheap there! 😀

And oh, i want a 2.55 like soooooooo bad!! T_T

You have a great weekend too Paris!! Enjoy your pear juice! 😀

Paris – I was a judge for NST’s Car of The Year when the Lancer won. Was funny because orders surged and they had no stock – hence your waiting period. They had underestimated the market response here. It’s a good car for the price – they’ve just launched a facelifted model last week – same car with different bumper and grille. Check it out. For a car in the same class, I’d go for the Civic 🙂 but the Lancer is gorgeous!

    hey paris,

my bro owns the car. its a nice and very sleek looking car. he have it in red as well, but he had done some customization on his though.

performance wise i wouldn’t know cuz he never goin to let me have a go. i suspect one of the main reasons he bought it was because of its pedal shifter gear thingy. like the one they have in sports car or F1 cars hehe.

anyway, i think you can check up mitsubishi lancer club forum online. my bro joined this one http://www.lancergtclub.com/

they always have some kind of a TT, gathering or convoys and all… 😛

Paris – forgot one other thing. Before you go on and make that purchase, Proton will be rebadging the Lancer as their car next year. You’ll be looking at a revamped front grille and a Proton badge, but everything else will be the same. Price around 80k. 🙂

NIce choice of car ^__^ I wanted to repaint my own mazda in that red *all sheepish* Any thoughts of comparing the new Lancer with the Evo10 instead? I always find Evo’s being more bang for the buck in terms of perfomance but if you are just in it for the ride experience the Lancer will do fine. I have always found Evolutions to be sexy but can’t see myself driving one of those. I have been eying the lastest model of Daihatsu Copen tho ^______^ Now that is a sweet car.

      Hi Saintangelius

The Evo is out of my budget and I’m not that much of a racer girl 🙂 Just liked the look of the Lancer

Hmmm you can get more info here at http://paultan.org/ Though the new Lancer has a little flaw. I tested on it and find that the handling is a bit weird. Something that I cannot explain. Only my bf understands what I mean 😛 Evo10, a lot of “Uncle” is driving them. So better think carefully 😛 To me it looks a little mature as well. No more Evo look 😀

      Hi j3nny9irl

Nah Evo is out for me. I’ll shop around for now – no point rushing into something hasty 🙂
