Day 6 : Kanebo Coffret D’or Full Styling Rouge Lipstick RS-242

June 6, 2009 Paris B 8 Comments

Day 6 of the 30 lipsticks in 30 days project and we’re going to see some Asian brands starting with Kanebo Coffret D’or.

Kanebo Coffret D’or Full Styling Rouge Lipstick – RS-242

Coffret D’or’s Full Styling Rouge was from one of the first Coffret D’or collections. Japanese brand lipsticks aren’t known for being strongly pigmented but this particular one is.

Coffret D'or Full Styling Rouge RS242

Full Styling Rouge is creamy and slides onto the lips like satin and the colour is pigmented. Following the usual Japanese makeup style of naming products, RS indicates that its a rose shade. I’ve learnt over the years that RS and RD (red) colours suit me best. PK (Pink) is usually too light and sheer.

RS-242 is a creamy berry red shade. Not a colour I’d call rose but maybe there was no other heading to put it under. The colour is quite strong which I was surprised with. Picture below shows 2 layers applied.

There is no scent and I like the texture. It must be said however that I generally like lipsticks from Japanese brands. I like the sheerness, lack of scent and subtle colour and shimmer which seems to be the case in most Japanese brands I’ve encountered. That said, lipsticks from Japanese brands do tend to be expensive too!

I bought mine for RM86 and they are available at all Kanebo counters.

Checking out Lunasol Intellectual Lips next in Day 7.

Stay beautiful,

Paris B

It looks great on you PB! My mum has exactly the same lipstick, and she loves it too. Perhaps I should sneak in to my mum makeup bag and give it a little try to next time 😛

    Hi Paris,

I had a chance to try this shade as well. (A friend of mine passed it on to me because it didn’t suit her.) I agree with you that the color is quite strong, but I do like it. (RS and slightly cooler PK shades generally suit me better than others.)

I think I definitely prefer lipsticks from Japanese brands too. I like the fact that they are usually not too pigmented and I like the natural and subtly glossy finish.

I look forward to reading about all the other lipsticks for the rest of the month! 🙂

      Hiya PJ

Yay for loving Japanese lipsticks! They are my first choice with Dior Addict coming in a close second!
