Yet another Vibrating Mascara – Maybelline Pulse Perfection

May 11, 2009 Paris B 33 Comments

Note: I have tried this and I think its pretty good but here’s my full review on the Maybelline Pulse Perfection.

When is it no longer cool to own a vibrating mascara?

When you start finding it in drugstores.

Maybelline Pulse Perfection Mascara
  • Save

Maybelline is putting out a vibrating mascara called Maybelline Pulse Perfection that will cost US$15. Expensive by drugstore standards.

The Maybelline Pulse Perfection mascara operates by way of a button on the cap and delivers 7,000 vibrations per minute to coat your lashes with mascara.

Wait a minute. This sales pitch is looking familiar. Where have I seen it before?

*slaps forehead* Lancome Oscillation of course!

I know that Maybelline and Lancome come under the same parent company but wasn’t the technology transfer a little too quick this time? Its been barely a year since Oscillation was launched. Perhaps they needed to get the technology out quickly to the masses so it starts to pay for itself? Not many people would fork out the moolah for a $34 Lancome Oscillation but they might pay $15 for a Maybelline Pulse Perfection?

I don’t know if we’ll see the Maybelline Pulse Perfection here in Malaysia but it will certainly be interesting eh? I don’t know many people who will pay RM60 for a mascara from Maybelline. That said, its half the price of the Lancome Oscillation so… that makes it worth a shot at a bit of gimmicky fun I suppose. 🙂

What do you think? Yay or Nay?

Stay beautiful,

Paris B

      Hi Karenmarie

I’m wondering the same thing too. Then again, its probably the same technology so that makes it more or less the same?

The name was impressive but it’s too expensive for a drugstore brand. Maybelline mascaras cost like less than $13 there.

Imagine when it arrives to Malaysia market. Who’s gonna get this?

      Hey Traclyn

I suspect if it does come here, lots of people will get it! For novelty sake if nothing else 😉 Though I reckon its not that expensive at $15 – if it does the job of one that costs $34!

I am very tempted to get this! If it comes out early of July I just might but I have a feeling that it’s gonna be “meh” so I’m not sure if I wanna get it for the gimmick. lol! i wouldn’t pay 15 dollars for a tube of maybelline but since they have BOGO so often, I wouldn’t mind paying 15 for TWO tubes! 😀

I should really stop buying mascaras *imagines overflowing mascara drawer*

      Hi Connie

Hehe… I’d probably just wait and see if it ever gets here. After all, if it launches in July in the USA, it’ll probably get here by Christmas 😛

RM60 for a maybelline mascara? i guess i have to think twice… it’s all depend on what’s the reviews on it… I won’t buy it until people saying it’s great… although different ppl different opinion and experiences but at least better than everyone saying it bad, right? kekeke…

      Hi Synaesthesia

RM60 is a rough guess on my part. I don’t even know if we’ll get it here. I suspect we are going to see a lot of yays and nays when people start trying it.

Isn’t Majorlica Majorca also about RM50? I’ve never tried and somehow, have no urge to. heh… Maybe the next time I see a hefty sale.

Yeah, it’s rm50, but it works really well! So I don’t mind. Imagine paying rm60 or more for something that doesn’t do anything for me. Sam tong ah!

Yep I reckon thats what most people will think. If its half the price of a department store brand, it’ll be worth trying out at least once!
