I hit Hong Kong at a bad time for shopping – there were hardly any sales around. That was good in a way because I was there to play “tour guide” to take my parents around and we had lots of fun!
I managed to squeeze in some shopping on the last day which was when I bought most of my stuff. The rest of the time was spent sight seeing, eating and freezing my buns off! It was cold this time of year, averaging between 19-20°C everyday. We loved it of course but my lips hated how dry it could be.
I ended up with a little haul only this time because as I said before, I found that prices of cosmetics in Hong Kong appear to have risen and are now more expensive when compared to Malaysia. I suppose if you are coming from Europe, its still a lot cheaper in Hong Kong but for me, I found it easier to resist buying things than I thought.
I picked up some skincare this time from Bonjour and Sasa. The H2O+ Face Oasis set was only HKD195 (RM92) at Bonjour so it was too good to pass up since I’ve incorporated the H2O+ Face Oasis gel into my everyday skincare routine. It came with a sample size eye gel and a facial cleanser which made it an even sweeter deal!
I’ve been experimenting with cream cleansers so I picked up a tube of Elizabeth Arden Hydra Gentle Cream Cleanser and a deluxe sample sized tub of Clarins Extra-Comfort Cleansing Cream. I tested the Clarins one for 2 nights and it felt nice although I’m not sure how it’ll fare now that I’m back in humid Malaysia! The Kanebo item on the far right is a powder wash. Think washing powder and you get the same concept. I picked it up on a whim so we’ll have to see how it fares 🙂
I hardly picked up any makeup this time due to the costs and lack of interest on my part. But I could not pass up a deal on the Bourjois Ombre Stretch eyeshadows at Sasa (HKD77 – RM37) each. I’d been interested in them before but I refused to pay the full price of about RM60+ per eyeshadow in Singapore (I think). I eventually forgot about them until now so I picked up two in two favourite shades – green and beige pink 🙂
The other item I picked up was quite uncharacteristic of me due to the price. I picked it up on impulse because just a few hours before leaving for the airport, I came upon a Watsons with a Gransenbon counter and I’d heard so much about Gransenbon blushes.
So, even though it cost me about RM80+ a blush I sucked it up and bought a Gransenbon blush in #08 – a shimmery peachy pink. Gransenbon is a drugstore brand in Japan which is also available in Singapore I believe. Just don’t tell me its cheaper in Singapore *whimper* 😛
So that’s it for my Hong Kong hauls this time. Nothing spectacular. Oh, I did end up with a couple of thick dressy looking spring jackets for a mere RM75 each from Sogo. They are really smart and pretty and are in my favourite colour… green! 😀 haha… I’ve sent them to be dry cleaned, but take my word for it – they will make me a smarter looking traveller from now! 🙂
Oh and here’s a gratuitous picture taken with my hair all over the place on Victoria Peak. Tell me – do I look stylo or what?! LOL….
It was a very misty and cold day so the city was not as visible as it should be. The wind was also abominably strong. Victoria Peak is certainly a place to visit if you ever go to Hong Kong – there’s even shopping to be had – Dad bought himself a pair of shoes! How about that eh? 🙂
Have a great weekend everyone and stay beautiful!

You’re lucky you got the gransenbon #8 =) it’s already discontinued and Singapore didn’t bring it in.
Singapore currently has 8 shades.. I own all and I love them! it’s S$29.90 for one.

Hi Adeline
Lucky I got the one not available in Singapore or I’d be kicking myself at the price! 😉
