H20+ (H2O plus) swam into my radar about 3 years ago when I browsed online a lot. I also tested out some products from their store in Hong Kong as I was not aware if there was a store in Malaysia. It turns out they do but its been pretty low key.
A star product of H20+ has been their Face Oasis Hydrating Treatment gel (link). I had the opportunity to try this one out recently after reading so much about it, and I must say it lives right up to the hype!
The H2O+ Face Oasis Hydrating Treatment Gel comes in a tub. Here’s where I come in with my hygiene concerns because you have to dip your fingers into the tub to get at the gel. You could transfer out the gel into smaller tubs though – that does cut down contamination somewhat.
The gel is a striking turquoise blue – I love the color – it reminds me of the sea and since it contains a patented Sea Mineral Complex, it is most fitting too! The gel is very very light but spreads very well.
According to H2O+ the sea mineral complex helps attract, transport and distribute moisture equivalent to eight glasses of water. All thats well and good but how did my skin like it?
Surprisingly, my skin loved it! It drank up every drop, 8 glasses and all. 😛
Because the texture of the gel is so light, it is easy to want to overdo things and spread it all over your face like jam. Well, don’t. All that will do is, like jam, make your face feel sticky and gross.
Here’s how I use the H2O+ Oasis Hydrating Treatment: I place 5 dots of the gel on my face – 2 cheeks, forehead, nose and chin. Then, I lightly spread the gel over my skin and lightly tap it into the skin.
The gel sinks right into my skin and my skin immediately feels a little plumper and smoother. I tried using it at night, but I feel it did not help my skin much – perhaps with age comes slightly drier skin and I prefer using my Yes to Carrots day cream at night as its heavier.
However, this H2O+ oasis hydrating gel has been heaven sent for day use. I used to just use my Eucerin White Solution sunscreen without a moisturiser in the day. I felt it was sufficient and when I tried to layer it over any other moisturiser, it just felt too heavy on my skin.
When I layered the Eucerin White Solution sunscreen over the H2O+ gel however, it did not feel heavy at all. In fact, with daily use, I seem to notice that my skin has been looking and feeling more moisturised compared to previously. Thats a good thing! Its also a good thing that I’m using a day moisturiser because I’d been a little antsy about not having a suitable one for the day.
A 50ml tub of the H2O+ Oasis Hydrating Treatment retails for RM159. That’s not expensive when you think of the options out there. I can see myself using this for the long term and I’m so happy to have found a light day moisturiser! I don’t quite like the smell – its got quite a sharp “marine” scent and smells a little chemical but you can’t win them all! H20+ has stores in 1 Utama, Sunway Pyramid, Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, Gurney Plaza Penang and counters in some Jusco department stores.
Pros: Light, Absorbs quickly into skin, Perfect for day use
Cons: Tub packaging is not hygienic, scent is strong
[rating:4.5/5]
How much does it cost?
Hi suann
As per the post above, its RM159 for 50ml.
I’m still looking for a night moisturizer so that I can switch this over to the day. I need to get through my day moisturizers though *sighs* too many moisturizers and only one face >.<
Hey Connie
Oh I’m so happy I already have a night moisturiser because this one was really too light for me at night. Hope you find one soon!
I apply gel based product on my face like that too!!!! I think gel based product are perfect for dry skin individuals who would like to add “moisture” in the middle of the day, I find that patting the gel on the face works really well! I just had face allergies last week and it is super dry and itchy and the gel consistency of my Clinique helps so much! I am intrigued with H2O!!! Thanks for the review!
Hey Nikki
I hope you are feeling better from your allergies. Gel textures are nice that way – they are light and absorb quickly.
I remember i had wanted it to work so badly for me
but i broke out in a severe rash all over.. i guess it’s due to the colourings and fragrance.
Just a note for sensitive skin people.
Hi Amelia
Thank you so much for your feedback! I do agree the fragrance is a tad too strong in an otherwise nice product. Might it be that you are allergic to marine products?
looks nice it is really a great product, as reviewed by u and connie. will stop by the counter one day to test and smell it first 😛
Hi prettybeautiful
Yep, take a big healthy sniff and see if you can tolerate the smell. Its quite strong.
i want! 😀
i had been waiting for a review before buying this… it’s so hard to get a decent one! >_<
yay! with u and connie giving approval, i’m buying… when i got money 😛
Hi Plue
If you have sensitive skin, you might want to bear Amelia’s comment in mind. Try and see if they offer samples? Oh and thank you for the award – it was lovely of you! 😀
and i forgot, i nominated your blog for a triple award 😀

tee hee!
Just happen to be browsing the warehouse sales in internet and found out that H20+ is currently having sales until 9 March. I might want to go to the nearest mall to check out soon and see if there is any product of H20+ that catch my eyes. Yey! I have yet to try out any of their product and hopefully this sales is worth it. There are several locations such as 1Utama (most likely I’ll be heading to), Sunway Piramid, Pavillion KL, etc that participate in this sales.
You can check out the website which I found at http://www.shoppingnsales.com/2009/02/12/12-feb-9-mac-h20-beauty-sale/
From one of the comment, it is said that: For non member -10% on all skincare, Member -15%.
Selected Body care- 70%.
Hi Sylvia
Thanks for the heads up! This might help those who want to get this cream 😀
I’ve been wanting to try this quite a long time since I watched the Nu Ren Wo Zhui Da but I didn’t know which one is it. Hmm… I wanna get 1 too!!! Shins is having 40% for H2O. They only have facial range =). Thanx for the review ParisB
Hi notcute
Hope it works for you and you’re welcome! 🙂
thanks for the warning! i think i’ll go see if there’s any sample 🙂
i’m not too worried about my skin being sensitive, as it is quite ‘hardy’ 😛
hehehe Thanx ParisB. I’m currently trying out the Eucerin Sunblock you recommend. I hope it works coz they don’t have any tester but they have the tester for the SPF 15 moisturiser. It’s not that greasy. Btw Caring Pharmacy is having 15% discounts for Eucerin products for those who are interested. Maybe ParisB you wanna stock up =P
Hi Notcute
Thanks for the info. I do have a spare bottle and I believe in using sunscreen “fresh” so I’ll get a replacement when I’m nearly through. One bottle can last a surprisingly long time! I’m still using my first bottle and my review was done a while ago.
Oh…this one….the first thing that reminds me of this is the chemical smell. I have a small tube of 8ml that was included in the LE gift set which I purchased with the e-voucher from this site. This product is ok with me, but I still prefer my Estee Lauder TIME ZONE the new moisturiser, with its slight fragrance.Of course, the H2O+ gel is definitely cheaper than TIME ZONE and works as well. And yes, I have used them both and have compared both.
Hi VonVon
Yep, the smell is rather chemical. Its nice for me skin so I like it! 🙂 I haven’t tried Estee Lauder’s Time Zone. I left EL a while ago and never went back LOL
Hi ParisB,
Hmm… I just got 1 of the Whitening with SPF40 and the Moisturiser with SPF15. I thought if it becomes a lil greasy then I’ll mix it both. hehehehe Oh btw the Pharmacist told me that the higher the SPF the oilier it tends to be but somehow this Eucerin is not bad I must say… compare to many brands I’ve tried. It’s better compared to Banana Boat, Coppertone, Sunplay and even Kiss Me Sunblock. I’ve thrown away many coz it’s just too greasy and I can feel that my face cannot breathe. haha 😛 but then SOME of them that is acceptable I use it as my body sunblock 😛 Why waste rite? hehehe
Aiyah I’m just addicted and so excited to see what comes up on your page ParisB. Thank you so much. 🙂 There a few questions I would like to ask you regarding purchasing through the net. Can I mail you if it’s ok? Thanx 🙂
Hey Notcute
Sure thing – feel free to drop me a line. 🙂
okie dokie Arigatou! 🙂
OMG! Today’s connection sux… I cannot load any webpage…. 🙁
Hi Paris,
I tried the H2O Marine Cleansing Gel today, also from the LE gift set. I’m surprised it doesn’t have the chemical smell. It actually has a very pleasant smell that goes away the moment you rinse of your face. And it leaves my face feeling very smooth.
Btw, do try TIME ZONE when you get the chance.
Estee Lauder is not so ‘aunty’ la. I started using it from Uni days. 😉
Hi Vonvon
I haven’t tried the cleansing gel. As for Estee, its not that its aunty – its expensive! 😛
I am still looking for one that suitable for me to use at night.
ingredients
Sea Mineral Complex™, Sea Fennel, Lavender, Vitamin C, Wakame, Vitamin A, Sea Lettuce, Provitamin B
full ingredients stated on their web. is that really all? or is there a bigger list of chemicals that they didn’t list out on their site?
