Estee Lauder Summer 2009 – Vivid Garden & Bronze Goddess

February 20, 2009 Paris B 16 Comments

Living in a tropical country, its always summer all year round and that might explain why I am always that little bit more interested in Summer and Fall collections than Spring. When the Estee Lauder Fuschia Now collection for Spring turned my head, I had to check out what they had in store for Summer 2009. I’m glad to note that Estee Lauder has impressed me once again.

This is the upcoming Vivid Garden Collection from Estee Lauder for Summer 2009. I read reports that said that it was exclusive to the Far East (that means us! Yay!) but I cannot confirm it. It will also be available at Harvey Nichols in the UK. I don’t suppose some one from Estee Lauder is reading this and can confirm the availability of this collection?

The items in the Vivid Garden collection seem to be:-

  • Vivid Garden Illuminating Powder – This one looks like a soft pink highlight powder. I think I’d prefer this one to the one from the Spring 2009 collection which I found a tad too pink on the skin. I love the imprint on this one too!
  • Jasmine Garden Eyeshadow Quad – There seem to be 4 light pastel shades. Colours I’d associate more with Spring than Summer and colours I find hard to wear so I’d probably pass on this one.
  • Lotus Blossom Illuminating Gloss – A sweet pink gloss. Check out the print on the tube. So pretty!

I’ll check this collection out in stores if I know when its coming in. 🙂 The colours do look very light and Spring-y which is rather strange eh?

Also, for Summer 2009 is the Bronze Goddess collection. With summer comes bronzing and tanning so instead of soaking up the sun’s rays and destroying your skin in the process, fake a tan with these:-

For Summer 2009 there will be:-

  • Bronze Goddess Soft Duo Bronzer
  • Bronze Goddess SunBlush Illuminator – this one looks pretty even if I’m not one for bronzers
  • Bronze Beauty Sand & Sea Eyeshadow Palette – This palette seems to contain existing eyeshadow colours and I might be mistaken but I seem to recall a similar looking palette from previous years.

I find the 2 collections quite a contrast with each other. One is light and pale and the other is bronzed. One seems more suited for Spring while the other is clearly a summer collection.

Estee Lauder just got interesting again 🙂

Wah! Estee Lauder is already up with its Summer collection when it’s only spring now. But time flies. By May, it will be all warm and nice, sunshine and everything. I hope this 2 collections will be here by then. hehe! Cos it’s my birthday month and I hope to get some of these for my birthday and I can send out my birthday wish list with all these items…:) Ok, may be not the Bronzers. The eye shadow palette would be nice. I love palettes. If I’m not mistaken, the last 4 colours in the palette (from the brown onwards) can be found in the warm palette of the ‘As good as gold’ gift set that was sold this past Xmas. I’ll review it in my blog soon.

Vivid Garden collection is very pretty. The colour is very typically feminine. Well, I think i like the Fuchsia Now shimmer powder more than the Vivid Garden one at first look. But i might change my mind when I get to test it. I think I might have the heart to use this one, in comparison to the Spring one, where I’m just looking and admiring it everyday. 😉 I also might get the Jasmine garden e/s quad and the Lotus blossom gloss.

Oh, my dear old pocket……my wallet……I can hear them screaming in the distance …….for……help…….

Aww the shimmer powder is really pretty. I still like the look of the Summer one though.

the bronze beauty sand & sea palette reminds me of another palette… it reminds me of Lavshuca’s palette, i think it was from last year’s summer/ autumn? the longish one…

    maybe it’s just me 😛

the bronzer and the illuminator looks good ya!

      Hi Plue

Actually, I think Estee did come up with a similar looking palette too in previous years. Thats what my memory says anyway

Ooh that Vivid Garden Ill powder is so pretty!
I haven’t bought any makeup for a while now due to upcoming baby expenses…maybe I will succumb when this comes out!

      Hi Monstro

But new mommies don’t need a glow do they? Or maybe they do from lack of sleep 😉

      Hi Jojoba

Yep I felt it was too pastel for the eyes but the illuminating powder really got my attention for pretty factor!
