Dior Addict Couture Collection Perfumes

February 18, 2009 Paris B 17 Comments

This will be one for perfume collectors and afficionados. Dior has come up with 2 limited edition Dior Addict 2 and Dior Addict Shine perfume bottles as part of the couture collection.

Dior Addict Couture Collection

The Couture Collection for the Dior Addict perfumes reflect the paisley design of the Dior Cruise collection 2008. Delicate paisley motifs cover the pink bottle of Dior Addict 2 and the beige bottle of Dior Addict Shine – its really pretty – something you have to see for yourself. I have and I think its gorgeous.

I’m not much good with perfumes but I’ll try to describe the 2 that I have smelt.

Dior Addict 2 has a fresh citrus scent based on bittersweet grapefruit and tangy bergamot, and then settles down to a slightly musky scent. It’s the fragrance of a sprightly young woman brimming with unaffected sensuality and vivacious femininity.

Dior Addict Shine has a fresh floral scent of citron, featuring a gardenia-raspberry accord and settling down to a woody scent of ceder. It’s the fragrance of a radiant young woman, glowing with irresistible charm and sensuality.

Of the two, I prefer the Dior Addict 2 – I like musky scents and floral scents don’t sit well with me.

The limited edition Dior Addict Couture collection is available at all Dior counters from March 2009 and will retail for RM218 for 50ml.

On a side note, I wore one of my favourite perfumes last week – Stella. It is a perfume I first tried and liked in London and I got mine from Heathrow as a reminder of the trip. I’ve always loved the scent. However, last week it made me feel a little nauseous – I have no idea why! It smelt fine on me (I checked with a friend) but it made me uncomfortable nonetheless. I’m going to try it again and see how I feel. It’ll be a pity if I ended up hating the one scent I used to love so much! Then again perhaps I could then replace it with Dior Addict 2 hehe…

Stay beautiful,

Paris B

according to yr description, i guess i would prefer Dior Addict 2. me is a fan of citrus and tangy perfume. 😀 i have so many perfumes at home but have to stop using them temporarily coz spraying them in the morning gives me a bad runny nose. =/

      Hi prettybeautiful,

Are you developing allergies to the scent or to the alcohol?

I have Dior Addict, Dior Addict 2, Dior Addict Eau Fraiche, Dior Addict Shine. (in miniatures) I think they’re overkilling it. They did very well with Dior Addict which I dab on lightly for evenings out. Dior Addict 2 is in 100ml that I bought and is something that I use almost everyday.

PB, I’d noticed that different times of the month, different scents make me sick. Literally. I’d re-shower (victorian water restriction be damned!), scrub myself clean and reapply another perfume. So, it could really be just that with Stella, I wouldn’t worry too much. (It could also be the weather. Too hot a day, I think some scents are overpowering)

I’ve got Stella and I love how warm it makes me feel on a cold wintry morning. Like a warm, happy, safe cocoon. 🙂

      Hi geekchic

Dior probably felt they were going with a winning formula 😉 Thanks for the heads up re: Stella. I’ll have to test it again and hope it doesn’t make me feel sick!

    Grapefruit! Nufff said =D

Try spraying stella further away from your nose. Like on your elbows or even behind your knees. Then you have the scent only not in such a cloud around you. =)

DA2 is one of my favourite signature scents, but I can’t stand DA Shine or the original DA – just doesn’t match my body chemistry I guess.

Pretty as it is, I’ll have to pass…Dior fragrances are just way too expensive here for my liking. I usually buy my DA2 in a 100ML bottle at the duty free in Bangkok…and it’s a bargain RM280 (after conversion) for double the amount! LOL…

      Hi Beetrice

So you like it too eh? Body chemistry is a really strange thing when it comes to perfumes. Never has a truer word been said about them! Perfumes are always cheaper at duty free – its usually where I get mine too… or in coffret sets 😉

Yeah. Beetrice mentioned body chemistry. I think I ever read somewhere a long time ago that our body chemistry changes. Hence, could be that the fragrance once used is not compatible anymore now. Something to that effect. I can’t remember where or what exactly I read though.

      Hi Shay

Well I sure hope my body chemistry doesn’t change THAT drastically! It still smells nice on me so I dont’ think its body chemistry that’s changed. Maybe just my taste 🙂

      Hey Faye

If I was, I’d be very surprised because I’m neither married nor dating LOL… But still, it might help someone else having a similar issue as mine 😀

      Hey prettybeautiful

Maybe your nose is just sensitive in the mornings. Some people are like that 🙂

Popped out of my hermitage to visit the amazing Jo Popped out of my hermitage to visit the amazing Jo Malone installation at Mid Valley Megamall 😍 Jo Malone has always made gifting an experience, both for giver and receiver, and this is what their Jobots are here for - to help you find that perfect gift whether for a friend, family, or for yourself each time you manage to dodge the C-bullet 😆
Go check out the Jobots at Mid Valley Megamall Centre Court & experience their signature hand and arm massages, gift boxing, personalised engraving of your perfume bottles & candle jars & play with the vending machine. You could get lucky!
No prizes for guessing which Jobot installation was my favourite! The one with the dog of course! They also had a key chain with a dog. So. Bloody. Cute!!
And after so many years finally got a photo with event organizer extraordinaire @cyrus.chin because we didn’t get the white & beige memo and came instead in (unplanned) matching sunny coral instead 😂
It felt good to have makeup on, dress up and go out for a tiny little bit, and meet people I haven’t seen in literally years! Also to enjoy the scents (hard to smell with a mask on though) and the visual delights. Go check it out. They’re there at the Centre Court until Sunday 3 July.

I put on a full face of makeup today and when it came to my eyeshadow, I had a brain fart moment and forgot where they were! 😂 Looked through 3 drawers before I saw them and even then I thought “Did I ever have THIS MANY?!” I guess I do. And before you ask, yes they’re all expired 🫢
