Lancome Color Design Artists Mini Collection

January 9, 2009 Paris B 19 Comments

Inspired by nature and the environment, Lancome’s team of Color Design Artists have put together a mini-collection of products to reflect the beauty of nature based on their inspirations. Each mini-collection can be used to create a day and/or night look and you can be assured that each set of colors will match perfectly so there goes your headache of wondering if green eyeshadow will go with pink blush 😉

Each mini-collection has its own theme, and is sold both individually starting from RM65 or as a set in a special limited edition box starting from RM600. Here are the 6 mini-collections in no particular order. You know, they actually make a good starter kit for someone just starting to get interested in makeup 🙂 There’s a poll below so please take part!

Which collection is your fave? Mine is Tropical Rainforest because I already have a similar looking Lancome Color Focus eyeshadow palette (mine is #104 but there’s only 1 colour different and its absolutely gorgeous!) and besides everyone by now knows I love green eyeshadow 🙂 Arctic Ocean too is calling my name because next to green, I like blue! hehe…. I’ve never tried Lancome’s blushes – now might be a good time to 🙂

Which Lancome Mini-Collection grabs your attention the most? Take the poll below and have a great weekend everyone!

lancome’s blushes are divine! v soft and pigmented and blendable. it’s a shame that their color range here is a bit limited, i think

i’d be impressed if the released new stuff like this. but they took out old goods and rearrange them. NOT cool in my opinion. if you ask me to choose, i ‘d get the same thing as you anyway as that’s my favourite eye shadow quad. however, that blush #26 is not my cup of tea. i’d change it with soemthing else. 😛

Hiya jojoba: well, its just a collection by the local makeup artists of lancome, not really a collection per se. I really like that green quad – makes me look good everytime LOL…

i choose artic ocean. camiellia choo is a good friend of mine as well as my fav makeup artist and she is excellent in color matching.=) by the way, lancome makes fabulous powder blushes. they did once release a magie blush ( mousse blush which is fab)but i think it has been discontinued in malaysia. its still a continuing product in the uk though.

I should say that all 6 mini collections are great, because I just love make-ups in sets…gift sets, etc. and I can say I have quite a number of sets, mostly from Estee Lauder. Some even with repeats of certain colours because the SAs told me they always include their best selling colours in those sets.

I chose ARCTIC OCEAN because I like the teal shade eye shadow. Coming in second for me would be Lavender Provence because of PINK and lavender….my 2 most commonly used eye shadow shades. But I have several different kinds of eye shadow in these 2 colours and their shades.

Mystic Volcano is quite pretty but I already have similar colours in the Estee Lauder gift set I got for Christmas. In fact, all 4 colours are almost identical to 4 of the 6 colours in the warm palette of the ‘as good as gold’ set.

If I were to get the Desert Desire, I might as well buy something from Bobbi Brown because I haven’t tried Bobbi Brown cosmetics before.

But what I think is worth checking out and perhaps buying is TROPICAL RAINFOREST which many of you are raving about. Haven’t really tried foresty and leafy green eye shadow, only emerald colour and teal. They do bring out the colour on my face, and eyes, may be. Or may be I should check if any of the palettes I have contain similar colours and try them out 1st before venturing into a new buy.

As everyone knows, we need to be tightening our belts in the current economic situation.

Hi Vonvon: They are all pretty but if you can get a dupe, its great – I’m sure you might have some nice greens in your collection. That said, the green color focus palette is gorgeous!

hmmm i am totally lemming on the green quad and coordinating pink blush! i swatched it at isetan KLCC the other day and am convinced that one of the green e/s is the infamous erika F. isn’t it a little weird that the quad is cheaper than the eyeshadow duo tho? i’m also wondering if i have the ballz to pull the trigger on a blush that’s over RM100… to be fair lancome blushes do have such amazing texture.

btw is the collection an Asia exclusive?

Hey Jooj: I’m thinking a lot about the blush too – its expensive yet… they do feel nice. Sigh… The green quad does contain Erika F – its the shimmery shade thats oh so gorgeous! I reckon the quad are older and the duos newer. That said, this isn’t a “collection” in the true sense of the word more like a compilation of existing products by the artists. In Malaysia we get the Europe version of Lancome products so the colours may not be available everywhere in the world.

Hi Paris! Yea, I tried out some greens today….from some generic brand. Alas, I didn’t take pix. It actually turned out quite alright, except i think the dark green…i didn’t blend too well, making the corner of my eyes looking a bit ‘bruised’. hehe! me an amateur only. When I try out the greens again, will try to take some pix and perhaps email you, then , may be you can give me some advice, since you are a pro in green eye shadow. 😉 thanks

Oh…just wanna add…..you make me wanna get the green color focus palette more and more. Since it’s only RM72, may be I should drop by Lancome counter the next time I go shopping. or wait for their make-over, have a make-over since i haven’t had one for a while, then redeem the palette. hehe! we’ll see.

Hi vonvon: Bit of a typo – sorry. Its RM135 or RM140 not 72 for the colour focus quad. I still think its worth it though 🙂

Go check out the Jobots at Mid Valley Megamall Centre Court & experience their signature hand and arm massages, gift boxing, personalised engraving of your perfume bottles & candle jars & play with the vending machine. You could get lucky!
No prizes for guessing which Jobot installation was my favourite! The one with the dog of course! They also had a key chain with a dog. So. Bloody. Cute!!
And after so many years finally got a photo with event organizer extraordinaire @cyrus.chin because we didn’t get the white & beige memo and came instead in (unplanned) matching sunny coral instead 😂
It felt good to have makeup on, dress up and go out for a tiny little bit, and meet people I haven’t seen in literally years! Also to enjoy the scents (hard to smell with a mask on though) and the visual delights. Go check it out. They’re there at the Centre Court until Sunday 3 July.
