Shape your nose without plastic surgery!

December 16, 2008 Paris B 20 Comments

I was at Daiso at The Curve, Mutiara Damansara last weekend. I’d been to the Daiso in Singapore so I was very excited when I found out it was opening here in the Klang Valley (its been available in East Malaysia for a while).

After collecting armfuls of bento accessories, I came upon the cosmetics aisle in Daiso and the very first thing that caught my eye was this:-

Daiso Nose Shadow

A nose shadow!

No plastic surgery needed. Just dust this magic powder on your nose and watch it transform itself to your desired shape! Woot! 😀 After all, if eyes have eyeshadow, why can’t a nose have nose shadow?

Just kidding. It is basically a contouring powder where you can use the darker powder to shade and lighter powder to highlight to give the impression of a higher, sharper more shapely nose. Nothing I’d try since I’m quite happy with my little button of a nose, but something Michael Jackson might have wanted to look at before he underwent all that plastic surgery eh? 😉

At just RM5 it would have been a cute novelty item, but I was more interested in my bento and household stuff for which I just know I’m going to be such a regular at Daiso!

I guess it can be used as a contour powder for the face as well. The colours seem a bit harsh though ey?

@MisSmall : It was very contrasting which made me wonder just how useful it would be. Trust the Japanese eh? 🙂

This post came some 30+ years too late for my no-nose. ;))

Having said that, I was once made up as Snow White for an office skit and I watched the make-up artist conjure up a nose for me just by using 2 very contrasting colours…. dark on the outer parts of my (no) nose and a very light colour down the middle. She did it right, so I had a nose for about 7 hours. I guess if you do it wrong, you will look like an Arabian thoroughbred with a white streak down the middle of your face.

Thats a nice contour powder for the face! misSmall is right! Though it looks a bit too dry, or hmm..not blendable? Not sure, only looking at it through photos 🙂 Ooohhhh i can imagine you strolling down the aisle of Daiso for household products! I like too

I never knew such ‘shadow’ exists. Interesting! 🙂 I’ve been using my Too Faced bronzer for contouring.

I’m more interested in the bento accessories 😀 Is there any Daiso in the KL city center? I’ll be spending about 10 hours in KL next month before my next flight home to S’wak, I hope I’ve enough time to stock up some MAC, MUFE and bento accessories!

Lol…. I used to use eye shadow to contour my nose. Did that for my prom night. So when I went under the lights, my friends thought I went for plastic surgery. It doesn’t really change the shape of your nose though… Just makes it look sharper.

Hey, I didn’t see that when I was at Daiso! Too distracted by the eyeshadows. Hehe.

@Cheesey Poo : LOL at the reference to teh Arabian thoroughbred!

@Nikki: I think it might be too dark for the face really. I love the household department of Daiso. Everything else in there pales in comparison to the storage ideas for the kitchen!

@Amanda: The only Daiso in Klang Valley for now is in The Curve. Not sure if they’ll be opening one in KL city centre that soon. Ooh won’t you have fun in KL 🙂

    @Connie : Heh… I’ve gotten used to sneaking pics 😉

@YZ: Ooh nice! Thanks for the info.

@Ms. Blacklace: Yeah usually the contouring does that – I dare not try it for fear of looking like an arabian thoroughbred as Cheesey said below.

@Rinnah: The eyeshadows did nothing for me but this really made me LOL!

Haha, that’s interesting. Definitely something the Japanese came up with 😉

You can actually just contour the nose to make it look slimmer with a little bronzer (or brownish-coral blush) and some powder 🙂

    Oooohhhh Daiso!!!
    Err…nose shadow? Hilarious!
I have no nose, but I’m scared of contouring the nose bit. I think maybe I don’t know how to do it, cos it would be some kind of 80’s air brushing disaster!
    haha!
HOWEVER, my makeup artist did a tad of that on my wedding day, and my granny kept asking how come I had a nose that night!:-D
