So I seem to have gained a bit of a reputation as a Blush Queen *adjusts my little tiara* š so, I thought it might be nice to share with you the story of my first blush.
My very first blush was a Lāoreal Blush Delice blush in Rosy Cheeks. This was back in the days when I was young, foolish and had less choices than we do now. I had only one blush then and I used it every single day that I applied makeup. But Iām happy to say that the Lāoreal Blush Delice blushes have to this day, remained one of my favourite blushes! (So I must have done something right!)
The texture of the Lāoreal Blush Delice is par exellance and the shimmer is lovely but not over the top. I used to use the brush that was included in the package which served its purpose well, although it was a little hard to control some times. Incidentally, Rosy Cheeks is still my favourite colour of all the colours that have been released by Lāoreal. It is the PERFECT rose pink and imparts the PERFECT colour to simulate blushing cheeks.
Yes, it was love then and it still is love now. And look, hereās a picture of the very first blush I have ever owned (and the very first blush Iāve ever nearly finished)!
The cover is broken but I keep it anyway and I use it from time to time. Its a reminder to me of what things used to be and how they should be i.e. I really should try to enjoy and finish up some of the stuff I have š
Would you like to share your first blush story? Leave me a comment below. Iām sure weāll all enjoy reading it. š

Blush Queen! I love it!!! You indeed are! š Thanks for sharing your first blush story, when you asked us on the first blush, I just sat ā¦motionless, thinking deeply..lol looking like iām making the biggest decision in the whole worldā¦I think..my first blush ever is hmmm..goshā¦I really canāt remember it has to be Maybellineā¦and I canāt remember the shade! LOL I am not being helpful here right? Sorry I am getting old! I am sure itās Maybelline and itās pinkish!

Mine was an In2it blush in a light pink! I loved it so much that I finished the thing, and am on the 2nd one now!
Yes, like you, I still go back to it š Isnāt it sweet that some items are just classics and you never lose your love for it?
Oā Blush Queen, will you show us your collection, pleaaaseeee???
Kim says
Love the Blush Delice! Itās also my first blush (I have it in Strawberry Tart) and itās still going strong ā always come back to it somehow or rather.
Good times š

The memories of the first blushā¦ not THAT long ago for me in 2003, maybe? It was a Maybelline Pure Blush in Pink Strawberries and I got it on the cheap for a grand price of SGD5!! It wasnāt something readily available in Singapore. I found it in the sale corner and it had Korean writing on the packaging. I love it thoughā¦ the first time I used it, I went Wow!, cuz I didnāt know a nice blush could have such an enhancing effect. I still hv the blusher though, but I now only use it occasionally, rotating it with the other six blushers that I have accummulated. š
Yes I agree, Blush Queen, show us ur blush collection!!! In fact, can u show us ur make up collection??
anis says
i agree, show lah! š
mine was two+ yrs ago, silky girl in a peachy shade. decided to finally have make up for studentsā annual dinner, and thats one of the first make up i own! its a tad orangey on sight, but gives a nice glow when applied. rather natural looking i reckoned. texture still nice. loved it then, loved it now!
its still around, not finished yet. used it once in a while to go with coral coloured look.
reeka says
ehheee Mine is TBSās blush. I forget the shade. Itās a rosey pink. I only had this one blush, after I finished it, I bought it again at TBS. The same color. Imagine that currently I have more than 30 blushes (have been minimized from over 50 blushes).
yeah PBā¦.show us ur current collectionā¦:)

Ahh ā¦ my first blush was something by Estee Lauder. My mum bought something from EL, and she got it as part of a gift-with-purchase pack. Canāt remember the actual name though.
I donāt have it with me now sadly. Itās sort of coral in colour, and I loved it so much that I actually hit pan (none of the blushes I have, nor eye shadows in fact, have ever hit pan), and had to use another one.
Haha Paris you are a blush queen. I remembered seeing your blush collection picture some time ago, and my jaw literally dropped. My blush collection has since grew too, after looking at yours š

I saw it! (your blush collection) in your previous entries. You deserved the title š (and the tiara:-p) Have you ever think about a Blush Challenge?Like you did to your loose powder before? He he..handful of requests to be entertained huh? š
prettybeautiful says
hmm i think my first blush was given by my aunt, a liquid red-earth blush. i still have it now.. althou i donāt use it anymore. for memoryās sake.
ParisB says
@Nikki : *giggles* You arenāt getting old! It probably wasnāt all that impressive to start with š
@monstro: Iāve never tried in2it blushes though their eyeshadows were quite surprisingly decent quality for the price. Thereās a pic somewhere in the archives that show my blushes at the time š Donāt faint š
@Kim: I must agree with you. I donāt have strawberry tart but I have Rosy Cheeks and Rosewood and they are amazing for the price.
ParisB says
@KS : That is a lovely story! As for pics, let me think about it LOLā¦
@anis: Ah another of my favourite blushes ā Silkygirl blushes are underrated. I think I know the colour you mean. Orange blushes are scary on sight, but when applied carefully they can be so flattering on.
@Reeka: I used to have a Body Shop blush too in #2 ā the one touted as a Nars Orgasm lookalike ā it was very pretty. Canāt imagine where its gone now.
ParisB says
@Tine : LOL yep you would remember that pic eh? š You have accumulated a nice collection yourself. EL blushes are so soft they are underrated too!
@Natalie: I would do a challenge once I find the time. In fact I have like a million challenges to do LOLā¦ in time I hope!
@prettybeautiful: I think its interesting how your first blush is a liquid blush because liquid blushes are notoriously hard to use for first timers! I myself have never gotten the hang of using one.

My first one was from Red Earth. It was on sale in Esprit and I think it costs me only AUD$5.00. It was a great colour and itās long been discontinued. Iād used it up completely. My 2nd one was from Red Earth as well and after that, it was on to Dandelion which I love to bits. Iām on my 3rd box of Dandelion now.
ParisB says
@geekchic : I love how all our 1st blushes have seemed to be cheap, on sale or free! And actually finishing a Dandelion! Wow!
fashionasia says
oh mine was the exact same delice!! and till now it is still my favouritesttttt blush in the whole world!!!!
Syen says
Hey Paris!!!
Mineās LāOrealās Blush Delice too! I got it years ago at Kahaniās recommendation when I was still a makeup novice. I picked up True Rose, which was a luuuurvely pretty pinky-peach shade which perked up my complexion right away.
I did love it so much, Iāve blogged about it here.
Thereās just that thing about first blushes, eh? And yes, please show us your collection now, blush queen. =P

My first blush? Silkygirlās Nectar Blush. Though it was known as Wet n Wild that time. A few years back. A truly pretty, matte shade peachy pink~
Itās cheap, but the colour goes on so well! Just something natural for those days with early morning classes. I havenāt finish using it, since I use it quite sparingly, totally loving it! š
I just wish they have more colour selectionā¦ š

As i like natural makeup so i used to not even use blusher but just eyeliner and some foundationā¦ but i used to use my mumās blusher that comes in a shisheido makeup set when i really need to put some on ā¦ hahaā¦ so i had never really invest in any of the blusher until i had found out that gel blusher actually give a natural look, so to start experimenting i bought the elianto cheek stain gel which is cheap and i love it so much!!! i might consider buying the cheek and lip stain from TBS after i had finish this one!!! š
jojoba says
mine was a lancome (I THINK)ā¦ see I canāt even remeber it well. either lancome or clinique. back in the uni days. something i actaully USED UP. hahahaha

My first blush is Benefit Dandelion and Benetint. I am still using the same one which i bought 3 years ago. Once it is done, i might want to try Nar Orgasam. š
