Louis Vuitton goes Camouflage with Monogramouflage

October 26, 2008 Paris B 16 Comments

A common lament is that the Louis Vuitton Monogram is over done with so many copies in the streets. Truth be told though, I rather like the Monogram but on small items – wallets or maybe the Speedy 25 which is the one I have. It was also the only one I could afford at the time, but that’s a different story eh? 😉 LV has made me blink at some of their most recent designs.

However this new collaboration between Louis Vuitton and Takashi Murakami is making me blink more than once. Takashi Murakami was also the designer who brought us the colourful LV monogram bags (Multicolore) and the cherry blossom series.

Louis Vuitton Camouflage bag

This time, he placed the iconic Louis Vuitton monogram on a camouflage background canvas. One word – EEPS! But then I’m not a fan of camouflage anything at the best of times so I’m not going to be the best judge of this.

Can I just say that is a dirty bag? or a failed army bag…. Even my son said it “looks like there are worms on the bag!”

it doesn’t look as classy as an LV should be. still prefer the classic ones.

I don’t like this design. The cherry blossom one was better. Anyway, I’m not into LV bags so maybe not the best to comment.

Btw, hope your birthday was a good one! 😉

Er..still prefer the classics and blossoms ones. But then again, I think I would never buy LV as too many copies around.

@Reese : Ah but nothing beats toting the original 🙂 Still I have to agree with the copious amount of fakes available.

@rinnah : problem is that it IS exclusive and you WILL see stars toting it around. But I guess that’s how it goes eh?

PB, I love many of LV’s designs. I just hate that certain designs come only in the monogram & Damier canvas.

That’s the reason I got my Speedy in EPI. I wish stuff like Saleya comes in Epi as well. I do, love Petit Noe as well. I regard that as a classic and a must-have. I need to first settle on a house and then a Chanel 2.55 and then a Petit Noe. (Just don’t ask me which order should that come in. House? Chanel? It’s the chicken and egg story for me, darling)

@geekchic : I hear ya sistah! Lucky I got the house sorted so I guess Chanel is like next? LOL… Nah I can drool but I can’t bring myself to plonk down the cash for the 2.55. I did get my 1st Epi in the Lockit MM – love love love! I used to lust after the Epi speedy in red. I’ll live vicariously through you 🙂
