How to look good even when you had a bad night?

So you had a bad night. You wake up in the morning and see dark rings under your bleary eyes, and blotchy skin. What do you do?

Well, here’s where makeup can help you.

The key here is to keep things natural. From personal experience, I’ve found that on days when I wake up looking and feeling terrible, light natural makeup is best.

The key items you’ll need are:-

  • Concealer
  • Foundation
  • Highlighter
  • A light or nude colored eyeshadow
  • Eyeliner
  • Mascara
  • Light peach or pink blush

And here’s how I put it all together.

Review: Makeup: Guerlain Le 2 Brush Mascara

I got a pleasant surprise one day last week when I was contacted by Guerlain to review their newest mascara – Le 2 de Guerlain mascara. Other than my favourite Anna Sui Full DX mascara, and Lancome Flextencils (discontinued) I’d never tried other high end (read: Expensive) mascaras.

Guerlain’s new Le 2 de Guerlain Mascara is so named because it is one tube of mascara with 2 brushes. I can’t direct you to the website on the Le 2 Mascara due to flash (but its worth watching) so I’ll direct you to Sephora instead where you can read the official blurb.

What struck me most when I first got it was how long it was! It is about a quarter longer than a normal mascara tube, which makes it very long indeed. It can’t fit in my container where I stick all my mascaras so I have to keep it separately. It almost feels like a magic wand when you hold it. I can see Hermoine Granger waving this around 😉 But does it measure up to a magic wand on your lashes?Continue Reading

Review: Makeup: Revlon Renewist Lip Color Lipstick

To be perfectly honest, I used to think of Revlon as a boring adult brand. That was when I was young and foolish of course 😛 I used to think of Maybelline as the cute younger sister and Revlon as the older one – it was more serious, packaging was more severe with all that black and the models used were just older. Perhaps that’s Revlon’s target market?

Anyway, I got older and suddenly Revlon was for me! I’ve only really tried their lip products. Their Super Lustrous Lipsticks and Lipglosses get the thumbs up from me every single time. The age-defying 2 way foundation was the first time I’d tried Revlon’s face base products and its pretty awesome too.
