Review: Makeup: Silkygirl Funky Eye Lights eyeliner pencil

November 2, 2007 Paris B 5 Comments

Good products never have to come with a hefty price tag. And to illustrate that, this is a review of the Silkygirl Funky Eye Lights eyeliner pencil.

Silkygirl, for anyone unfamiliar with the brand, is a low end brand found mostly at pharmacies/drugstores. I believe its a homegrown brand and is currently available in Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei and Jakarta.

For me, the best item from their stable is the Funky Eye Lights eyeliner pencil. The colours are metallic and there are 9 colours so far. I like that the formula is very smooth and soft, but not so soft that it runs. In fact, this eyeliner is totally budge proof! I love that and I love the unexpected flash of metallic colour on the lids.

My favourite colours are 01 – Olive Green and 06-Metallic Bronze. Both these colours show up well with just the right amount of shimmer. As I have enthused above, they are practically budge proof and don’t run or fade throughout the day.

I would really like if they came in a black colour. A shimmery metallic black would have me lining up for it in a heartbeat! The rest of the colours are too pale for my liking.

This wonderful eyeliner pencil retails for RM13.90 but often goes on sale, sometimes as low as RM9.90. Snap it up if you haven’t already!

Pros: Cheap, budge-proof, nice metallic colours

Cons: No black shade

hey! Silkygirl does have black colour but its just in the form of pen/crayon type known as long-wearing eyeliner. have to twist it to use it. have to agree that its budge-proof

My first introduction to this Silky Girl Funky Eye Lights was when I saw one of my student wore it. At first i thought that it is incredible that she could make one straight line on her eyelids using eyeshadow, but then i found out that she uses Silky Girl Funky Eye Lights. She practically changes the colours every day according to her outfit, and as she is very fair, even the pale pink shows up real nicely on her!

I just went to Watson’s today. They only have a few there. There was no Gold, Silver, Ocean Blue, Sky Blue and Lime Green. They had one called Electric Blue though which I find weird cause its not listed under the colours. =/ . Wanted the gold one so bad .
