I haven’t been much into Stila for quite a while. The last few collections bored me but the upcoming Stila Holiday 2007 collection – Dazzle and Dream looks like they would make some pretty gifts.
Stila is going with 2 coffret sets and 2 palettes together with their annual mini lipglaze collection.
Gift of Glamour – Includes: stila eye shadow in kitten and barefoot contessa; an illuminating tinted moisturizer; a tube of multi-effect mascara in black; and a new limited-edition lip glaze, fruit cake (a golden rose shade)
Gift of Glow – bronzing set includes: stila sun bronzer SPF 15; baked eye shadow trio in gold; lip glaze in brown sugar; delux sample smudge pot in bronze; and a mini eye liner brush
Gift of Glaze – 6 mini lipglazes including two new limited-edition shade; nutmeg spice (a golden rosy peach with nutmeg flavor), and candy cane (a sheer golden red with a candy cane flavor), grapefruit, apricot, vanilla and brown sugar.
Guinevere’s Deluxe Palette -Â A warm palette that contains three eye shadows: champagne as the base, shimmery gold for the lid, and a golden brown as the liner; a warm golden peach cheek color and an apricot lip color. There are 2 swarovski crystals decorating the cover and it comes in a slim compact.
Sarlett’s Deluxe Palette – A cool palette that contains three eye shadows: soft pink as the base, silvery rosy pink for the lid, and a shimmery pink gray as the liner; a shimmery mauvey pink peach cheek color and a grapefruit lip color. Similarly, there are 2 swarovski crystas decorating the cover.
It just struck me, after looking at all the colours that I already own those colours in Stila, especially the eyeshadows. The Deluxe Palettes are lovely, but since I’m not a lip product in palette girl, I’ll pass on them. I also don’t particularly like the lipglazes (sorry Stila fans!) As for the coffrets, I’m not much into bronzing (although the baked eyeshadow trio is calling my name!) and I already own the eyeshadows in the gift of glamour set. Trust me when I say that Kitten and Barefoot Contessa are awesome and must-haves from Stila!
I think they’ll make lovely gifts for whoever’s wanting to try Stila for the first time, or to introduce someone to the wonders of makeup. But if you are like me and already own a load of products (especially Stila products), you may be seeing too many dupes in your collection already. All that said, if I can get a hold of just that baked eyeshadow trio, you bet I’ll be all over it! 😉
The Stila Holiday collection is already out on stilacosmetics.com and we should not expect them on our shores until maybe November/December 2007. Plenty of time left to read online reviews and make up your mind as to whether you really want them.
