Bobbi Brown Palette System – create the ultimate makeup kit

October 5, 2007 Paris B 5 Comments

I received an email about Bobbi Brown’s latest launch – the Palette system that allows you to create your ultimate makeup kit. I was busy so I did not read the details, but I remember thinking “How nice! It would be nice to mix and match my own eyeshadows from Bobbi Brown”

Today, I had a little time so I surfed on over to Bobbi Brown’s site to see what the Palette System was.

Oh dear, I felt a little cheated when I saw what “customizing” meant to the people at Bobbi Brown.

All Bobbi Brown really allows you to “customize” is which palette you choose to purchase. All the palettes are pre-made and none of the colours are interchangable. I had the impression I could actually make my own palettes.

So, I’m upset over the rather misleading advertising. Further, I don’t think the colours or palettes are very special anyway. They look pretty much like the usual Bobbi Brown palettes and there isn’t any colour that particularly grabs my attention. The little pink case with its brushes does make my heart beat a little faster though but I don’t know if it’ll beat fast enough to compel me to buy it hehe…

Each item is sold separately so I wish they didn’t call this a kit, like it all came in one set or something. It’ll be great for any girl starting out with makeup, or maybe if you lost all the makeup you’ve ever owned and need a quick fix. Otherwise, I think its just a gimmick. Sorry all BB fans!

I just want the brushes and pink pouch =P I dun normally buy palettes. Hehe. It ends up going to waste if I do. Actually I only have one palette..the Benefit Eye watever thingy and dats it coz it’s basic neutrals.

But I really love the Channel one…ugh…but then like u said, they have the gloss thingy there. I dun fancy having them in my palette either.

PB says: I agree with you about the palettes. I hate how half used lip palettes look so gunky and awful!

Bobbi Brown makes me so pale in photos. I have both pink and peach/brown palletes. Now, I am turning away from Bobbi Brown. I look like dracula has drained my blood in my photos.

PB says: Wow that bad huh? I think their colours are just too neutral sometimes esp for photo taking. So, which option are you heading for this time?

hum… the palette blusher colors don’t really look nice.. but its the most sell able colors in the market. personally i prefer apricot color from BB coz the color looks healthy pinky coral on my skin… nice~

PB says: Oh yay… I like Apricot too. Watch out for a review on Bobbi Brown blushes soon.
