I came across the article in The Star about John Galliano’s latest limited edition bag collection for Dior celebrating the signature Dior Saddle Bag. Being an unashamed bag whore, my eyes immediately lit up at this collection.
I don’t own a Dior bag. Not yet… lol… Somehow Dior’s bags don’t catch my imagination, much less the pink and white logo collection that you see all over Petaling Street. I have passed by Dior so many times, I don’t even bother to step into the store anymore.
This collection however deserves a second look. I’m absolutely fascinated at the various designs, and I love how unique they all are, even if they are terribly gaudy to look at. Paired with a little black number however, it’d be the perfect accessory to tote about, and have every woman in the room look daggers at you – so jealous are they!
There are 12 in this collection, pictures of which can be found at the article in The Star. My favourite two are:
Japan
With a black satin embroidered base, this Saddle is inspired by the obi of a kimono (a traditional decorative cloth worn at the waist). Origami-like stitching in reds and intricate detailing circle the centre and the CD rivets and swing D are lacquered in geisha red and adorned with black crochet pom-pom
England
Cool Britannia rules in this matte black crepe Saddle embroidered with white pearlised buttons embroidered complemented with silver rivets and CD’s hung from a black leather strap.Â
Ironically, they are the 2 places I’m presently dying to visit too! A sign perhaps? I don’t know how much they are going to retail for, but whatever it retails for will be out of my budget so I’ll look and I’ll drool and then I’ll regretably walk out of the store.
