Review: Makeup: L’oreal Touche Magique concealer pen

March 23, 2007 Paris B 12 Comments

Further Update: They brought it back in! It does look a little different now and applies a little differently too but it is still a very good budget illuminator/concealer pen. Here’s the re-review of the Touche Magique pen.

UPDATE: The L’oreal Touche Magique concealer pen is discontinued – BOO! But if you can still get it, this is my review after using it.

Touche Magique is a concealer pen by L’oreal made specially for concealing dark undereye circles. It has illuminating properties to brighten the under-eye area.

I test drove this after a night of drinks and not sleeping well. It gave me a smooth clear look, like as though I’d just woken up after 8 hours of uninterrupted sleep! Every girl should keep this gem in their makeup stash!!

There are only 2 shades available here – 03 and 04. If you are fair 03 will suit you fine. However, if you are very tanned/dark you might not be able to find a match in this line. I don’t know why but I can’t seem to find much stock at the L’oreal counters. Are they discontinuing this item? Or do they just not stock many of it?

The brush part can feel rather hard sometimes and if you aren’t careful it feels scratchy around your sensitive eye area. I usually clean the brush with some tissue paper after every use and I found that regular cleaning seems to make it feel softer.

Its rather expensive at RM39.90 each, but L’oreal goes on sale often here so wait till the discounts before you buy. Its worth every sen, trust me! I’ve tried a couple of concealers, but I still go back to this one.

I’ve been scouting for this since I read about it, but the sales girl told me they are not selling this anymore. They are selling just the perfect match or true match concealer (I forgot the name). 🙁

YC: Really?! That really sucks 🙁 I guess I’ll have to hunt down any last few I can find before I run out!

@Wendy: Thanks for the info! The Loreal Touche Magique was really awesome but at S$21.90 its just way too much to pay for L’oreal! 🙁

    Hi Paris,
I found this in my drugstore and I decided to look around for any reviews.
Mainly, from what I’ve read, it does miracles on undereye circles! However, covering dark circles isn’t my main concern… when I was looking at the ad in the store, it promised to also work on the redness around the nose area and other blemishes.Could you tell me how well does it covers redness and minor discolourations such as acne scarring?
    Thanks!

It can cover redness but not so much discolorations, for me. It doesn’t cover my acne scars nor pigmentation. But it can help with redness
