<p>Truth to tell, I never got into the whole beauty box subscription hype. Sure, I told you once <a title="My Women Stuff Beauty Box Subscription: The introductory box" href="http://www.mywomenstuff.com/2012/06/my-women-stuff-beauty-box-subscription-the-introductory-box/" target="_blank">what I might put in one if I were curating a beauty box</a>, but for the most part, it doesn&#8217;t attract me. So, I can tell you that it takes a lot to impress, or to even make me take a second look at yet another beauty box subscription service.</p>
<p>And this is where <a href="http://bag-of-love.com" target="_blank">Bag of Love</a> comes in. A beauty box without the &#8220;box&#8221;? Count me intrigued! Bag of Love, the brainchild of former magazine beauty writer and self-confessed beauty buff Mi Mi Teh, delivers to your doorstep a little pouch (or bag, as you&#8217;d have it) of beauty goodies. The rest of the concept is the same as the beauty box subscription service i.e the element of surprise and samples for a fixed monthly fee. The difference lies in the contents and the delivery.</p>
<p>I was handed the March debut bag, to see what I thought of it, but I also subscribed for the April bag to see what it might contain, and to see just how unique it would be. You see, each month sees a different bag design arriving on your doorstep! That alone will pique most people&#8217;s interest I&#8217;m sure!</p>

<p>Jaded. That&#8217;s how I feel about a lot of makeup these days. &#8220;What&#8217;s new pussycat?&#8221; I yawn when another Spring/Summer/Autumn/Winter release falls on my desk. &#8220;What makes you so special that I should fall in love?&#8221;</p>
<p>When I spotted the Dior Jelly Lip Pens in their <a title="Dior Summer Sneak Peek: Bird of Paradise Summer 2013 Collection and new Addict Lip Gloss" href="http://www.mywomenstuff.com/2013/04/dior-summer-sneak-peek-bird-of-paradise-summer-2013-collection-and-new-addict-lip-gloss/" target="_blank">Summer Bird of Paradise collection</a>, I was interested, but I actually thought &#8220;Oh dear, another chubby type lip pencil thingy eh?&#8221; Lets face it eh? Its been done. What makes this special?</p>
<p>So really, ladies, I wasn&#8217;t expecting to fall head over heels in love with it. Isn&#8217;t that just how love is? It hits you when you expect it least! <img src='http://www.mywomenstuff.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif' alt="icon wink Dior Jelly Lip Pen, the True Beauty Multitasker for Summer Lips Gloss, Balm and Lipstick" class='wp-smiley' title="Dior Jelly Lip Pen, the True Beauty Multitasker for Summer Lips Gloss, Balm and Lipstick" /> I will tell you however, that the love only extends to just 1 shade. Maybe 2. While I tell you which, why don&#8217;t you hazard a guess? <img src='http://www.mywomenstuff.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif' alt="icon wink Dior Jelly Lip Pen, the True Beauty Multitasker for Summer Lips Gloss, Balm and Lipstick" class='wp-smiley' title="Dior Jelly Lip Pen, the True Beauty Multitasker for Summer Lips Gloss, Balm and Lipstick" /> </p>

<p>I was recently asked what my guilty beauty pleasure was and I didn&#8217;t have to hesitate too long to answer &#8211; massages and facials. Its debatable how necessary they are for a healthy beauty routine, but I thrive on regular facials and massages. It may not be necessary, but it helps me keep my sanity and that makes it necessary, right? <img src='http://www.mywomenstuff.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif' alt="icon wink Spa Visit: St. Gregory Spa at Parkroyal Hotel Kuala Lumpur World Luxury Spa Award Winner!" class='wp-smiley' title="Spa Visit: St. Gregory Spa at Parkroyal Hotel Kuala Lumpur World Luxury Spa Award Winner!" /> </p>
<p>So, I&#8217;m always looking for new spas and massage places to try out. About 2 months ago, while I was having my haircut, I browsed through a Harper&#8217;s Bazaar magazine that had a whole section on spas. I was doing my best to memorize every single one (failed of course &#8211; should have bought that issue!) One of the winners of the Bazaar Spa Awards was <strong>St. Gregory Spa at Parkroyal Hotel Kuala Lumpur</strong> and I was planning to visit but kept putting it off until, as providence will have it, I received an offer to try the award winning &#8220;Most Soothing Body Rejuvenating Ritual&#8221; ~ A mother&#8217;s day special package. It was so good, I signed up for 2 more on the spot! <img src='http://www.mywomenstuff.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif' alt="icon biggrin Spa Visit: St. Gregory Spa at Parkroyal Hotel Kuala Lumpur World Luxury Spa Award Winner!" class='wp-smiley' title="Spa Visit: St. Gregory Spa at Parkroyal Hotel Kuala Lumpur World Luxury Spa Award Winner!" /> </p>

<p>I love learning new and different ways to apply my foundation base. I used to use my fingers a lot, and when I was taught the super quick way of <a title="Tip: Best way to apply liquid foundation" href="http://www.mywomenstuff.com/2010/05/tip-best-way-to-apply-liquid-foundation/" target="_blank">using my palm to spread the foundation on my skin</a>, I was sold. I used this method for a long time, until I came upon the<a title="Simply Perfection: The Shiseido Perfect Foundation Brush makes applying foundation a dream" href="http://www.mywomenstuff.com/2012/05/simply-perfection-the-shiseido-perfect-foundation-brush-makes-applying-foundation-a-dream/" target="_blank"> Perfect Foundation Brush</a>. Then, it was brushes all the way for me.</p>
<p>I&#8217;ve shared a few Makeup Artist tips for applying foundation (<a title="Makeup Tips: Natural Makeup in 5 Minutes with David Ooi Clinique Makeup Artist" href="http://www.mywomenstuff.com/2012/02/makeup-tips-natural-makeup-in-5-minutes-with-david-ooi-clinique-makeup-artist/" target="_blank">Clinique</a>, <a title="Perfecting the Lunasol Perfect Step of Foundation Application : Tips by Lunasol Makeup Artist Yumi Takada" href="http://www.mywomenstuff.com/2013/02/perfecting-the-lunasol-perfect-step-of-foundation-application-tips-by-lunasol-makeup-artist-yumi-takada/" target="_blank">Lunasol</a>, <a title="6 Invaluable Foundation and Base Makeup Tips from Blair Patterson, Estee Lauder Global Makeup Artistry Director" href="http://www.mywomenstuff.com/2012/10/6-invaluable-foundation-and-base-makeup-tips-from-blair-patterson-estee-lauder-global-makeup-artistry-director/" target="_blank">Estee Lauder</a>, <a title="Top 5 Makeup Tips from Dior with focus on eyes and face" href="http://www.mywomenstuff.com/2012/10/top-5-makeup-tips-from-dior-with-focus-on-eyes-and-face/" target="_blank">Dior</a>) but here&#8217;s one from a Dior Pro-team International Makeup Artist that I just have to share by way of a tutorial, because not only is it fast, its easy and error free and importantly, gives me a beautiful base every single time <img src='http://www.mywomenstuff.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif' alt="icon biggrin Fast, Easy, Effective Liquid Foundation Application Tutorial 5 Lines, 1 Perfect Base (Backstage Tip from Dior Makeup Artist Junior Cedeño)" class='wp-smiley' title="Fast, Easy, Effective Liquid Foundation Application Tutorial 5 Lines, 1 Perfect Base (Backstage Tip from Dior Makeup Artist Junior Cedeño)" /> Makeup Artist to the stars, Junior Cedeño applied this for me, using the Diorsnow BB Creme but I&#8217;ve since tried it with BB Cream and liquid foundation, and it works very well for both.</p>
<p>This is now my go-to method for applying base and if you can draw lines (doesn&#8217;t even have to be straight lines!), you will love it too! <img src='http://www.mywomenstuff.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif' alt="icon biggrin Fast, Easy, Effective Liquid Foundation Application Tutorial 5 Lines, 1 Perfect Base (Backstage Tip from Dior Makeup Artist Junior Cedeño)" class='wp-smiley' title="Fast, Easy, Effective Liquid Foundation Application Tutorial 5 Lines, 1 Perfect Base (Backstage Tip from Dior Makeup Artist Junior Cedeño)" /> </p>

<p><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-12357" alt="clinique cc cream Can Cliniques CC Cream Correct Colour and Cover Colourless Complexion Conveniently? " src="http://www.mywomenstuff.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/clinique_cc_cream.jpg" width="640" height="474" title="Can Cliniques CC Cream Correct Colour and Cover Colourless Complexion Conveniently? " /></p>
<p>I happened to be at a mall on the weekend, when I noticed the promo images for the <strong>Clinique CC Cream</strong> had gone up at the Clinique counter. Probably a good time then, for me to let you know what I think about this <img src='http://www.mywomenstuff.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt="icon smile Can Cliniques CC Cream Correct Colour and Cover Colourless Complexion Conveniently? " class='wp-smiley' title="Can Cliniques CC Cream Correct Colour and Cover Colourless Complexion Conveniently? " /> Yes, Clinique too has taken a gander at the CC Cream. Has anyone not done so? <img src='http://www.mywomenstuff.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_razz.gif' alt="icon razz Can Cliniques CC Cream Correct Colour and Cover Colourless Complexion Conveniently? " class='wp-smiley' title="Can Cliniques CC Cream Correct Colour and Cover Colourless Complexion Conveniently? " /> </p>
<p>I have to tell you I was quite interested in it because you see, I can&#8217;t use the Clinique BB Cream. The shade is too dark for me and a sample left my skin looking dull. So, when I saw that the Clinique CC Cream comes not only in skintone shades but also in illuminating shades, and furthermore, comes under the Moisture Surge category, my interest was a bit more piqued.</p>
<p>What Clinique was keen to impress on me, as I am to impress on you, is that the CC Cream is a <strong>Colour Correcting Cream</strong>. What this means is that isn&#8217;t a foundation, nor does it try to be one. It instead, serves to correct and neutralize your skintone to reduce sallowness and to give you a brighter, more natural glow to your skin. Think of it rather more like a colour correcting makeup base than a foundation or foundation substitute and you will be less disappointed. Because, if you don&#8217;t, you might be.</p>

<p><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-12341" alt="prague Travel Tales: 10 Things You Can Do In Prague, Czech Republic" src="http://www.mywomenstuff.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/prague.jpg" width="640" height="404" title="Travel Tales: 10 Things You Can Do In Prague, Czech Republic" /></p>
<p>I can&#8217;t believe its already been 2 weeks since I returned from <a title="It has been the best of times and the worst of times: What’s been going on with me?" href="http://www.mywomenstuff.com/2013/05/it-has-been-the-best-of-times-and-the-worst-of-times-whats-been-going-on-with-me/" target="_blank">my vacation to the Czech Republic</a>, a place I&#8217;ve always wanted to visit for the longest time ever. I fulfilled my dream to visit the beautiful &#8220;City of 100 spires&#8221; aka Praha or Prague as we know it and I thought I&#8217;d share some of the things you can do while you&#8217;re there, because quite a few of you had expressed interest to visit.</p>
<p>If your plan is to shop till you drop then Prague isn&#8217;t for you. Let&#8217;s just get that out of the way because I&#8217;ve met more than a few people in my time who, at the mention of Europe, start to get that Chanel sparkle in their eyes. There is good shopping to be had in Prague, but its not the best place for that. What its worth going for is the views, and architecture and to just soak up the atmosphere of an old city, relatively undamaged by the various wars and political upheavals they&#8217;ve undergone, and just live for a little while.</p>
<p>I was there towards the middle of Spring which I was told, is not exactly a wonderful time, because the weather can get a little wonky. They had a long cold winter and were just starting to thaw out by April so when I arrived, the weather was a warm (almost hot) 25°C and I was quite disappointed. 2 days later, the temperature plummeted to the low teens and down till about 4°C. Its apparently better in Autumn when the weather is more stable but in Spring, you&#8217;ll see the beautiful flowers  in bloom everywhere so it has its attractions.</p>
<p>I thought I&#8217;d share 10 things you can do in Prague, in case you think of visiting, and it serves as a quick introduction to the city and what I did while I was there <img src='http://www.mywomenstuff.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt="icon smile Travel Tales: 10 Things You Can Do In Prague, Czech Republic" class='wp-smiley' title="Travel Tales: 10 Things You Can Do In Prague, Czech Republic" /> So, strap yourselves in your chair, we&#8217;re going on an armchair holiday with quite a few pictures to go through! <img src='http://www.mywomenstuff.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif' alt="icon biggrin Travel Tales: 10 Things You Can Do In Prague, Czech Republic" class='wp-smiley' title="Travel Tales: 10 Things You Can Do In Prague, Czech Republic" /> </p>

<p>If you remember, back during the MWS 6th Anniversary giveaway series, I gave away a very exclusive item that had not yet even been launched at the time. It was the <strong>Estee Lauder Nutritous Radiant Vitality Essence Oil</strong> and I&#8217;m hoping the winner is enjoying hers, because I am really enjoying mine! I&#8217;ll be telling you more about it next week.</p>
<p>Today I wanted to just let you know about the new additions to the Estee Lauder Nutritious skincare range and a little about what this range is about. The Nutritious skincare range in its distinctive red packaging has been on the shelves since its introduction in 2007 and its a bit surprising, but I&#8217;ve never seen it pushed very aggressively.</p>
<p>I remember being interested in it back then and I may have tried a little sample and I was intrigued, because red is very eye catching, but if you go to the counter, you will be introduced the hydrating range (blue) or anti-aging range (pink/purple) and rarely, and almost never, the Nutritious range. I always wonder why.</p>
<p>With Nutritious, Estee Lauder extracts the benefits of the pomegranate fruit in their new proprietary Pomegranate Nectar Infusion which contains anti-oxidants, skin boosting nutrients, moisture and energy. Almost like a power drink for your skin. Have you ever tried this range?</p>

<p><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-12318" alt="skincare cold weather Packing skincare for a cold Spring/Winter climate when you come from the tropics" src="http://www.mywomenstuff.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/skincare_cold_weather.jpg" width="662" height="496" title="Packing skincare for a cold Spring/Winter climate when you come from the tropics" /></p>
<p>When I recently went away on vacation, it was to a country in the Northern Hemisphere which had just broken through a particularly long winter, and Spring was just in the air. That wasn&#8217;t quite what the weather report for Prague told me when I checked before I left. I had reports of weather in the teens and wide ranges of temperature of 25° &#8211; 6°C &#8230; in one day! I wasn&#8217;t upset &#8211; no sirree! It meant I could drag out my boots and tights and coats! Whee! <img src='http://www.mywomenstuff.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif' alt="icon biggrin Packing skincare for a cold Spring/Winter climate when you come from the tropics" class='wp-smiley' title="Packing skincare for a cold Spring/Winter climate when you come from the tropics" /> </p>
<p>But as I packed my cosmetic pouch, I knew I had to make a bit of allowance for this sort of temperatures and weather. Coming from the tropics, I&#8217;m used to  warm and importantly, humid weather for most of the day, everyday. Light textured products like gels or gel creams are preferable for comfort. But from experience, I knew that weather in Europe was not only colder, it was also drier and creams generally work better there.</p>
<p>So when I packed my pouch, I made sure I bore this in mind. I thought I&#8217;d share what I packed, because I&#8217;ve had people ask me before this what they should pack for a holiday to a colder climate, and also because I know many of you will travel at some point and may wonder if you should compensate for your skincare or if you can carry your own <img src='http://www.mywomenstuff.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt="icon smile Packing skincare for a cold Spring/Winter climate when you come from the tropics" class='wp-smiley' title="Packing skincare for a cold Spring/Winter climate when you come from the tropics" /> </p>
