Shopping at Benefit Cosmetics Online

A while ago, I itched to get something from Benefit Cosmetics, but I balked at paying the high prices we pay here in Malaysia. Yet, I did not have enough in my shopping cart to warrant the free international shipping with purchases of $100 and above. So, I contacted a few friends to share in a bulk order, and 2 weeks ago, our order was placed.

Here are my goodies from Benefit Cosmetics which I received a couple of days ago. Shipping from the USA took just about 2 weeks to Malaysia from the date of the order which I found speedy enough. Also, I was entitled to free shipping since the total purchase exceeded $100. I was glad because the shipping would have cost me $27+ otherwise! Anne Dundas Handmade Jewellery

I recently noticed an advertiser taking out an ad on one of my sidebars recently and checked them out on a whim. The jewellery designer is Anne Dundas from Sydney Australia and something about her handworked designs called out to me. That and her End of Financial Year sale of up to 70% of course!

I was pretty taken with the stuff I saw and purchased a necklace and a necklace/earrings set for a total of AUD61+ (US$60+) inclusive of shipping. Shipping to Malaysia for the 2 items came up to AUD3.85 which I found reasonable. I wanted to show the pictures of what I bought, but they have disappeared from the site! I guess this truly indicates that the designs featured are one of a kind and once its gone, its gone. That’s nice. I’ve never really had a one-of-a-kind piece of jewellery before :) So, I’ll take pictures when it gets here.

I would say that some of the jewellery is quite cheap after the 70% discount and if you have spare funds in Paypal, its a good way to spend it because she takes Paypal. I don’t get anything for this pimping (she doesn’t even know I’m writing about her!) so nope, I don’t benefit one bit from spreading the word! The 70% off sale is on until June 30.

I was down in Singapore over the weekend when I stumbled on the brand Sana in a Sasa store. I had read about this Japanese brand before but had never seen it in person so I was quite taken in by the pretty cherry blossom packaging.

Out of curiousity, I picked up 3 items. 2 of them, a liquid foundation and a foundation brush and mixing palette set was from the Sana Maiko-Han series. Continue Reading >> Sana Maiko Han Geisha inspired Makeup

New Benefit PosieTint Lip and Cheek Stain

I’m hardly ever tempted by cream or liquid blushes because previous experiences did not leave me with a good impression. However, the new Benefit PosieTinticon lip and cheek stain is suddenly calling out to me.

Don’t ask me why. I was not tempted by BeneTint although I know lots of people love it (I also know lots of people who hate it) and pink isn’t really a colour I like for the cheeks.

However, an online review I read described Posie Tint as Chanel Narcisse blush in a bottle, and I love Narcisse! Yes I know its a light pink that doesn’t work well on darker skintones but I love it on me. Does this mean I’ll like PosieTinticon too?

I won’t expect to see it here in Malaysia for a while - Erase Paste isn’t expected till June 2008 (I asked at the local counter about it and I got blank looks until the manager came along).  Dare I run the risk and order online for US$28? It’ll be cheaper… ;)
