Review: Benefit Creaseless Cream eyeshadow - Skinny Jeans

In my first Benefit Cosmetics online order, I picked up a Creaseless Cream Eyeshadow in Skinny Jeans because I was fascinated with the color. It did not help that my friend asked me to order it for her and thus made me look in that direction - bad you! heh…

The Benefit Creaseless Cream Eyeshadow comes in a heavy glass pot which to me looks classier and less tacky than the rest of Benefit’s colourful (and cardboard) packaging. The texture is very smooth to the touch and applies like a dream - like smoothing cream on the skin. My review here will be based on the colour I got, which is Skinny Jeans. There’s More! What do you use to apply liquid foundation?

When I was last in Singapore, I was fascinated by and picked up the Sana Maiko-Han foundation brush and mixing palette set. This pretty set of short foundation brush and 5 Japanese designed mixing palettes cost S$29.90.

I’ve never really used a brush for liquid foundation before. I’d always used my fingers mainly because I found that it spread better. I’ve used this brush twice so far and I’m thinking ambivalent thoughts about it.

Review: Silkygirl Eyeshadow Duo and blush

Since I was writing about Silkygirl’s new makeup stuff in a previous post, I dug out an old picture of the eyeshadow duos for a review. You will notice that the eyeshadow duos in my picture say “Wet n Wild”. That was what Silkygirl was before. Don’t get it confused with Wet n Wild Cosmetics found in the USA though (they are awesome and cheap too!). The name was the same but practically nothing else was.

A few years ago, Wet n Wild cosmetics in Asia was rebranded into Silkygirl Cosmetics (presumably to avoid this confusion with the WnW USA brand) The company and products remained the same, only the name and packaging was changed.

Review: Skincare: Eucerin White Solution Whitening Extra Treatment Fluid SPF40

Anyone who’s read my site long enough will know I’m a firm advocate of L’oreal UV Perfect SPF50 as THE BEST sunscreen for me. About a month ago, I picked up a newly launched product from Guardian pharmacy that effectively dethrones the L’oreal UV Perfect as the perfect sunscreen for me, and has placed itself high on my must-have list - Eucerin White Solution Whitening Extra Treatment Fluid SPF40.

The Eucerin White Solution Whitening Extra Treatment Fluid with SPF40 is a mouthful. I’ll just call it Eucerin White Solution Fluid throughout this review. White Solution is Eucerin’s “whitening” range of skincare products and they have had body lotions and facial washes for a while. The Whitening Extra Treatment Fluid is actually a moisturiser with SPF40. The active ingredients for sunscreening and sunblocking are Tinosorb S (chemical) and Titanium Dioxide (physical). For me, SPF40 is good enough for our tropical weather.

The product comes in a 50ml pump bottle and promises that it :-

  • repairs accumulated dark spots, dull & damaged skin inside and outside
  • strengthens sensitive skin with cell-protecting Vitamin E
  • is fragrance free

I quizzed the Eucerin promoter who seemed to know what she was talking about, and she told me that the White Solution fluid is firstly a moisturiser but as it contains SPF40 is good enough to use as sunscreen too. Now, I’m as sceptical of such lofty claims as they come, so I decided to test out the sunscreening properties. There’s More! Continue reading →
