Say Yes To Carrots

During my last trip to Singapore, I came upon a counter in Watson’s in Ngee Ann city selling a very interesting brand - Yes to Carrots. I’d never heard of it before and there was a whole skincare and body range made with carrots! Yes, the orange vegetable!

I was actually looking for a day moisturiser and contemplated the Day Moisturiser from this brand because it felt light and absorbed well. Besides it is supposed to be paraben-free. (You can read my previous post on parabens)

Yes to Carrots combines vitamins and beta carotene from carrots and other orange based organic fruits and vegetables with dead sea water which is supposed to be rich in minerals. The formulation is light and they are created to be suitable for sensitive skins.

Review: Sukin Organics Purifying Shampoo and Nourishing Conditioner

I wrote once before about experiencing acne from Hair Shampoo or Conditioner. It was a horrible experience which led me to be very careful and wary about changing new hair shampoos and conditioners.

One commentator said that it might be attributed to the Sodium Lauryl Sulfate in the product which I thought possible, yet strange because I’d been using products with SLS all my life. However, since Sukin Organics has a shampoo and conditioner with no SLS and Parabens in their formula, I decided to pick up a set in Singapore to try.

Sukin Organics Purifying Shampoo is SLS and paraben free for those who are particular about these ingredients in their hair care. However, what this means is that this gentle shampoo does not lather up very much. I am very used to hair shampoo lathering up with just one dollop so having a shampoo that feels a little greasy going on is quite strange and I do end up using more than usual to shampoo my shoulder length hair. Review: Skincare: Sukin Organics Foaming Facial Cleanser

I got my sister to pick up the Sukin Organics Foaming Facial Cleanser on one of her trips to Singapore. Sukin Organics is only found in certain Watsons in Singapore so she had to traipse all over the place looking for it, much to my gratitude!

The Sukin Organics Foaming Facial Cleanser comes in a plastic bottle with a pump dispenser. The packaging looks very “organic” with its brown container and off white label.

This foaming facial cleanser is supposed to be very gentle with no SLS or parabens in its formula. The ingredient list is also mostly plant based so I reckon it will satisfy all vegans.

This foaming cleanser is in a gel form and pumps out clear. One pump is about enough to wash the face. I must say however, that the texture takes some getting used to if you are used to using foaming facial cleansers from other brands. Sukin Organics Skincare and some thoughts about Sodium Lauryl Sulfate and Parabens

I’m not usually one for the Organic hype. Yes, I know organic is supposed to be better for the skin and all, but there aren’t many organic skincare products around in Malaysia that I know of (I don’t count the Origins line) and they usually tends towards the expensive.

However, I read Vivawoman’s review on the Australian Sukin Organic skincare range found in Singapore and I was intrigued. Not because it was organic but because it was organic AND affordably priced. So, the next time my sister made a trip down to Singapore, I burdened her with my hefty Sukin Organics order. (Aside: Reading Sesame’s reviews of various affordable natural and organic skincare products found in pharmacies in Singapore, I’m wondering why I’m not seeing any in our Malaysian pharmacies?)

When I was last down in Singapore, I also took the opportunity to check out the range of Sukin Organics skincare products for myself at Watsons in Ngee Ann City, Singapore.

Sukin Organics is an Australian based skincare line that prides itself on its 100% Natural ingredients policy, and most importantly, that their products contain:-

  • No Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS)
  • No Parabens
  • No Artificial Fragrances
  • No Petro-Chemicals
  • No Animal Derivitives
  • No Mineral Oil

So these products are supposed to be good even for the most sensitive skin. I scanned through quickly the ingredients and found that most of their products contain a lot of plant based oils and minimal chemicals.
