Beauty Roundup is suspended for now
For anyone who has been following my fortnightly Beauty Roundup, where I list some beauty and beauty related sites from around the net, I have to apologise for not doing one for November. Real life has gotten very hectic and I can’t keep up with site hopping. I might still do one for the 15th. We’ll see
In the meantime, I’ll be working on some product reviews and whatever beauty information I can get my hands on. I’ll be back ![]()
Beauty Roundup: 15 October 2007
Are we halfway through October already? Before we know it it’ll be Christmas and the end of the year! I thought it might be nice to highlight some sites/articles I picked up off the Splendicity members list. There are loads of good reads in there and it was hard to pick just 5. But this might be a recurring event so we’ll see eh?
- Style it Less highlighted a cute little black dress from The Gap. Now that we do have The Gap here, it makes me wonder if we’ll get it. The down side is that it falls into the expensive range here, not the style it for less.
- According to Ms. New Beauty dark nail colours are in for fall. I sometimes wish I had the patience and the ability to do and keep a manicure!
- Style Manila is a beauty site based in a neighbouring country - Philippines. Its interesting to see how similar yet different fashion trends in neighbouring countries can be.
- Beauty and Fashion Tech is another great news and beauty reviews site. I like that she writes nice lengthy reviews of the products which gives me a better insight into the product rather than the usual press blurb we get. You can bet I’ll be going back for more! She also authors Girl Gloss which is dedicated to lip products.
- So Frugalicious is awesome. We don’t get many of the brands featured nor their great prices but it gives me ideas on where I could look to find something similar. Her latest post on wide leg trousers really got my imagination going!
Just to be clear, this isn’t part of the Splendicity link roundup. I’m just doing my own and these were some sites I found interesting and which I hope you would too!
Enjoy the rest of October!

Beauty Roundup: 1 October 2007
As September draws to a close and we fall into October (bad pun I know!) I thought I’d do a roundup of beauty reviews I’ve come across in the past fortnight. I love reading and writing reviews and sometimes, after reading others’ reviews, you find you just have to try that amazing new product… or not as the case may be.
- Pinkelle Reviews Biotherm’s Sunfitness sunscreen. I am a big big advocate of using sunscreen so this is a good time to learn of new ones.
- While on the subject of sunscreen, Geekchic reviewed the Kanebo Freshel White C Day Protector that makes me want to try that one now!
- Tine at Beautyholics Anonymous has reviewed something practical in the Olay Regenerist Eye Lifting Serum. Her verdict was that it did not work for her pretty much the same as the serum for the face that did not work for me either.
- Jessie at a new beauty blog - Beauty Loves - highlighted the Elianto Baked blush, a cheap yet easily overlooked shimmer blush. Sounds promising!
- I’m experimenting with mineral makeup again and this review of Lily Lolo mineral makeup on the Mineral Makeup Blog sounds nice. Actually, it was the name that got me, its so cute!
I do take requests to be featured, if you feel there’s an article of yours that should get some airplay. Just read more about my Beauty Roundup project and drop me a line before the next round up on 15 October 2007.
Stay beautiful!

Beauty Roundup 15 September 2007
We are halfway through September 2007. Where did the time go? Fall is officially here although our sweltering tropical weather doesn’t make it feasible to parade fall fashions and jewelled tones that characterize fall makeup. Here are 5 articles that caught my eye in the last fortnight:
- A touch of blusher highlights some items she wants from Japan. I like that she had lots of pictures of brands we don’t really see outside of Japan so that’s why she get a mention this week!
- I missed PJ’s articles on how to go about getting yourselves some samples from the counters so I’m highlighting them here too: Part 1 & Part 2. She gets double bill this fortnight!
- Sesame over at Viva Woman highlights the health and beauty benefits of Omega-3 fish oils. I’m so glad I listened to my mother when she told me to take these!
- Doris of Live Life… Organics & Your Health offers some tips to stay beautiful and healthy.
- Drugstore Beauty Queen shows us how to make chocolate lip balm.Yummy!
I take requests to be featured too, if you’ve written something that you feel ought to be featured somewhere. Just read about my Beauty Roundup project and drop me a line! The next installment goes out on 1 October 2007.
Stay beautiful!
